“Red? Is that you?” You follow a shadowy figure down the cavern walls, panting as you run in desperation to keep up with it. “Red!” Taking a tight right turn, you come to a dead end. Where is he? As you actively search the wall for a clue, anything, anything at all, you hear breathing and feel hot breath on the nape of your neck. “Oy. You.” Turning around, you come face to face with Red, but not the loving Red you know of. This one looked colder, his heart shut away and his face meaning only business. He wore a cloak with the Yellow Diamond insignia on it, and glared down at you under his war hat. “Red, I’ve been looking for you everywhere! You got hit with a resetting scythe and-” But before you could finish, a destabilizer was pointed at your throat and steeled eyes stared at you. “A resetting scythe? Who the hell are you? A gem hunter perhaps? Now that I think about it, I’ve never seen you before. Not even in my troops.” Eyes widening, you stand there shocked. How could he?

“Red, please, it’s me, don’t you remember me? Just put the weapon down and I can explain everything.” After staring at you for a good solid minute, he retracts his weapon and begins to walk away. You snatch his hand and hold it tightly.  Red glances back at you and quietly mutters to himself. “Anyway, let me explain everything…”

As the two walked down the cavern corridors, Red stopped dead in his tracks, causing you to turn around. “What’s wrong?” He raised an eyebrow at you, and snorted. “We’ve been wandering around here for at least an hour now. Do you even know where we’re going?” Your face flushes a bit of crimson before you retort back. “Do you?” The gem paused to stare at you again. “…Fair enough. I’m taking the lead. Between the two of us, if there’s something in here, I have a better chance of tearing it limb from limb.” Crossing your arms, you sigh, mildly annoyed at what you were having to deal with.

Continuing your trek, you started back up on talking about the current situation. “So that brings us to now. You got hit with a resetting scythe by Spinel, poofed, and as soon as you reformed, you took one look at me and ran into here! Why did you do that anyway? Why did you run from me?” The gem shrugged. “I assumed whatever had poofed me had ran back into the cave, since beasts love caves. So I went to go teach it a lesson. Didn’t exactly think there was a gem that could poof me.” Other than a certain Diamond. “But I found you instead. My question is ____, why did you pursue me?” Sighing, you smack his side. “Because you’re my husband, dummy.”

The towering gem whipped around, rather shocked. “Now hold on a second, husband? Prove it.” Digging into your bag, you pull out two rings, a small one for you and a much larger one for him. Taking his hand, you slid it onto his finger. Perfect fit. Red was astonished. This little lady had not only avoided his wrath, but also managed to prove that they were betrothed. “And like I said, the faster I jog your memory, the faster we can get out of here. Now, do you remember anything? Anything at all?” Still slightly shocked, Red shook his head. “No. I just remember my Diamond-I mean, Yellow Diamond giving me orders to head for Earth and that was it.”

While the two of you continue your conversation, you finally come to a big cavern, not tightly close at all, unlike what you two have been through for the past few hours. Stalagmites and Stalactites strewn throughout the place, with some going from floor to ceiling, holding up the area. In frustration, you kick one of them as hard as you can. “Ugh, this is going to take forever!” But before you could continue your complaining, a deep rumble echoed throughout the room. The cave ceiling began to fall in. Uh oh. Red dashed over to you, and tackled you to the ground. Within seconds, the entire cavern had fallen in itself, leaving just a small section where the both of you had barely been able to escape. Now you were even more trapped than before.

“Oh god, Red, I-” He put a finger to your lips. “Shush. I can hear rumbling atop on the surface. Someone just launched a massive detinator.” Could it be the injector that Spinel had brought? “Steven and the others must have taken care of her!” Red snorted. “That’s dandy and all, but we’re still stuck down here, and in a small crevice I might add. There’s absolutely nothing we can do to get out. Our best bet is to wait.”
