There isn't a difference

between the black and blue floods rushing

melting under my skin

as if my arteries were bursting pipes of razors

or those black and blue colors leaking out dyeing

staining the inside of my heart

like green food dye turning dough into a joke

who said that you could tell a difference?

I felt it

since my first gasping breath

black and blue

black and blue all around me

a friendly hug of suffocation

a noose of words ringing around my throat

I see black and blue people,

black and blue eyes,

there's black and blue bruises, and

black and blue lies

there isn't a difference

it's all the same
