Naledi And Jua:A Orphaned Cub found

After a long exhausting day of hunting for the entire pride and patrolling the lands.Naledi and Jua decided to take a moment and spend some quality time together and watch the sunset crest over the pride lands.As the sweet pair trekked onwards they found the beautiful Pride Emblem Acacia tree and dug their claws in leaping up into the sprawling branches.Naledi the creamy lioness with vibrant purple eyes matching the hews of the sky and Jua the sunny lion recreating the the dying rays of the sun in his mane curled up together on a sturdy branch after leaping off a few dead ones.

“Jua , I’ve been meaning to talk to you about something important on my mind?”Naledi said gently while starting groom his mane.

“Yes,love. What’s on your sweet mind? I noticed you’ve been troubled lately.”Jua murmured while closing his eyes.

Nal stopped grooming him for a moment so she could have his full attention.“I-I want to have cubs.All the other Lionesses either have cubs or adopted cubs and I’m just here.But I totally understand if you want to wait a bit longer.”

Jua reopened his eyes and held her gaze gently.His eyes widened bigger than the gourds on the west side of the pride lands,”Uhm Naledi love... I would love to have a family with you but I’m just so scared of being like my parents and how they were with me but...Wait hold on what’s that? I’m not trying to be rude in this serious situation but do you hear that?”J had jumped up to his paws as his tail tip twitched anxiously.

A small mewing rang out across the clearing as thundering hooves of gazelles drew up dust on the lands below them.

Naledi’s eyes widened,“I do! It’s a cub! Baby please we have to save it! My heart can’t bear the loss of a young one.”

Jua nodded and cautiously kept down with his mate by his side.“Stick close by my side,I don’t want to loose either of you.”He hissed gently so he can be heard over the trembling stampeding gazelle.It just had to be the hyenas starting their plots again to try and distract the pride members from their patrols.

Naledi nodded and crept alongside her mate the two’s steps in perfect rhythm till she was thrown into the bushes. Nal hissed in shock and watched her mate run into the stampede trying to get to the cub hanging from a small ledge. “Jua what are you doing, your going to hurt yourself!”She wriggled out of the bushes and watched her mate leap on the backs of the gazelles and push off to get to the ledge.Naledi felt her heart rate slow to 60 Bpm as it seemed that time was dragging on. Please Safi protect him.Give him the speed of the cheetahs.The Grace of the Hawks.And The strength of the Elephants.Give him the rationality of the tiniest field mouse and the wisdom of the great Lions above. Naledi uttered the small praise that the lionesses chanted before a battle or a hunt.Her eyes clamped shut as she closed her eyes not bearing to watch what would happen to them.

Jua couldn’t look back to check on his mate so he bounded off of one last gazelle and flexed his massive claws.He sunk his claws into the rocks and felt him slide while a few loose pieces fell to the ceasing ground below. “Let’s get you down little one.” J slowly removed the cub and retracted his claws leaping down to the soft ground. He trotted over to his mate and sat the cub down before her.J helped her out of the bushes and locked her cheek in condolence.He cleaned up the cub quickly as it started mewling.

“M-M-Mama? Is that you? Why were you gone so long.” The small Black cub with red striped hyena markings  cried out.

Naledi gasped softly and started cleaning the poor thing up.“I’m not your mother but we can adopt you into our pride and help you find a family sweetie.”

Jua’s eyes melted as he noticed the small lioness and he looked at how his mate was being so sweet and gentle.“Nal let’s adopt her once we take her to Safiri. And if you want more cubs after her we can have them...”

Naledi nodded softly,“Come young one,Let’s get you to our pride so we can give you a New Name to symbolize your beautiful journey to get here. And if it’s all right me and Jua over here would like to be your adoptive parents!”

They talked and walked back to the cave as the stars shown above.Soon After the cub was welcome to her new home, given a new name , and a new set of loving parent who will take care of her forever.
