Tidestar + Snailhop's relationship
Snailhop isn't exactly who Tidestar trusts most, but when it comes down to it, he's still the best choice. Snailhop can be quick to anger, is prone to violent solutions, and distrusts rogues, so he acts as a foil to Tidestar and at times, a devil's advocate.
Tidestar still does trust him, however. Snailhop is loyal, that much is true, and he wants the best for the clan. It's just that the two of them have a different idea of what's best for the clan.
Other than the political aspect of it, they get along fine. Tidestar jokes around with Snailhop, teases him, and acts as a fun father figure. Snailhop worries over Tidestar, respects him, and appreciates the fact that he's not only given him a place to stay away from the rogue group that he grew up in but also a way to reconnect with his estranged sister.
