She was an accidental pregnancy and abortion methods did not fully work. The royal family wasn’t expecting a new family member so soon, but welcomed Jane into their hearts, although the father wasn’t so pleased. She came out with hands both sparkly and slightly transparent. It seemed unnatural but the parents kept her hands covered with tiny gloves and eventually forgot about it. She was a very beautiful baby, taking after her mother with her light blue eyes.

Following her turning 6 months old, Jane started growing more hair, making it noticeable that it was divided into two different colours. Her father’s black hair on one side and her mother’s white on the other. She was taken to a medical doctor which referred them to the witch doctor, a strangely magical being. They were told that the abortion she performed must have not only partially failed but altered Jane’s genes as well. Jane is a half-born child that cannot change the state of anything. Her touching things leave them as if they were never touched. People that go more than a day without seeing her again will begin to lose their memory of her.

The King and Queen were devastated for their youngest child. They were unsure whether to keep her or not, but ultimately decided to keep her while keeping her in the dark of why she is the way she is. She played with only her siblings and was taken care of well. The royal family was always afraid of being questioned because of their abnormal looking child and always took two separate photos for their album. One with Jane and one without, should a problem arise with the kingdom. That being said, the royal family did their best to cover Jane’s head and hands, dressing her with gloves, hats, and covering her head with the stroller cover when she was younger, etc. Jane threw a tantrum because she wanted to grow out her hair to be like her sister’s instead of always cutting it so the King and Queen had to stop covering her. They didn’t want to reveal the secret they’ve been keeping so far. At that time, she was only 7. As some time went on, more and more people began to gossip about her unnatural-looking hair. Since the people of the kingdom would begin to forget her if they didn't see her for longer than 24 hours, she would have to continue her daily activities while hearing all the gossiping. It damaged her self-esteem and she became insecure. Complaining to her sister who then told their parents, a statement was made the following evening. The King and Queen told the people that she was born a special child. She was a gift from the heavens representing the blessings of day and night. They would not tolerate the gossip.

Years passed and the gossip almost completely stopped. However, there was an individual with bad intentions. He wanted power and money and was recently kicked out of the royal guard because he threatened the boss. He had a grudge against the kingdom and decided to get revenge by exposing Jane. He paid close attention to the girl and stalked her. It was his lucky day when someone bumped into her, spilling food on her dress. She quickly went off to a well by the main street to clean it off before it made a stain. The man followed her pretending to care and want to help. Her right hand was exposed as she washed it off. He grabbed her arm and held it up for others to see as he ran back to the main street, pulling her along. The people of the kingdom then got to see what the royal family was hiding and began shaming them and calling Jane a witch, ghost, and many other names out of fear. It took awhile to capture the man and imprison him as he ran off and hid.

After the events of Jane finding out the truth about herself, she quietly lived her life inside the palace, never stepping outside. She was treated as if she never existed to the public eye. Her family barely made contact with her. Jane requested to have her room moved into the top of one of the towers. She wanted to be isolated from the family that betrayed her. She read, wrote, knit, crafted, and learned an instrument, but eventually couldn't confine herself to the castle any longer. Lady Jane kept herself locked up in the other side of the castle until she was truly ready to let go. She stored away her sparkling tiara and left the castle for the first time in months. She didn’t go far at first, still hurt from the betrayal of her people. She found a clothing shop and ordered a customized dress she designed. After a few days and a few more visits to the outside world, Jane felt reborn in her new, flowy dress. She slowly started opening her eyes and moving about in the world, leaving her past identity behind.

She now travels throughout Moonshell to have new experiences, learn about the lives of her people, and see all kinds of nature. She paints landscapes, artistic concepts, and occasionally includes herself to capture her memories on a canvas.
