Aermerea Staff & Artist's Guidelines

This is current as of November 26th 2019 and will be valid as of December 1st 2019.
This is effective retroactively which means it applies to all past, present, and future adopts as written.

What  follows are the Aermerea staff, official artist, and guest artist  requirements and perks. Staff and artists will be informed of any  changes made to these guidelines.

All staff and  artists are required to be a part of the discord server for ease of  communication. If you are not comfortable with this, please do not apply  for staff or artist positions.

All cuts are  taken after Paypal fees. All fees are calculated in USD. Rates may vary  based on international conversion rates. Because of Paypal’s 30 cent  flat fee, Aermerea founders will be subtracting 30 cents from all fees  for the foreseeable future to offset that, meaning the quoted  percentages taken are slightly lower than those listed below.

Certain events guarantee a ticket regardless of requirements. Typically, these events are the Mermay and Halloween events.

STAFF

Staff  applications are opened as needed. Please do not harass Aermerea staff  for a staff position. This will result in disciplinary action.

NOTE:  Staff helpers will receive the same perks as official artists but  maintain the responsibilities of staff until such time as they are  promoted to official staff.

STAFF REQUIREMENTS

• Staff are contracted permanently. Staff who wish to step down must give at least two weeks notice to Aermerea founders.
• Staff  must be visibly active in the group monthly, whether that’s answering  questions, doing prompts, helping with events, or any other tasks put  forth by Aermerea founders. 
• The group takes a 10% cut from any official adopt sales. If the adopt is priced over $50, the rate drops to 8%.
• Crossbreeds with your personal species are subject to a 5% cut to Aermerea.
• Staff  adopts have free access to almost all traits. Godly traits and prompt  unlockables still require permission from an Aermerea founder.

STAFF PERKS (valid as long as requirements have been met)

• Staff will receive tickets of random rarity of random species during their tenure, often after completion of heavier workloads. 
• If  a staff member does an adopt for the month, they will be entered in the  monthly ticket raffle to receive a free random ticket.
• Staff  will receive monthly payment in the form of random amounts of species  currency. They will also receive $25 in species currency at the end of  the year. If they finish their tenure before year’s end, they will  receive a prorated amount of currency equal to their time on staff.
• Staff have access to several exclusive staff chats in the discord server, as well as staff hangout chats and all artist chats.
• Staff may host NPC shops in the group and hold special sales, raffles, and auctions.
• Staff  may keep adopts they’ve designed for 60% off the MYO ticket price. If  the adopt is a crossbreed with your personal species, the percentage  rises to 80%.
• Cooldown times are halved on trading and reselling (one week on premade adopts and two weeks on tickets). 
• Staff  are able to receive up to four extra weeks on all expiring MYO event  tickets. To receive the third and fourth weeks, please ask founders for  extensions.
• Staff are given priority on higher rarities (anything celestial and above).
• Staff  will receive 20% off ticket shop prices as long as they’re on staff.  This staff discount stacks with other sales and cuts off at 50%.  Discounts do not apply to the pecunia shop. 

ARTISTS

We  no longer allow designs done by Aermerea artists to be retired from the  species. Designs  may not be inspired by existing intellectual properties without  permission from Aermerea admins. Such requests will be granted on a  case-by-case basis. In instances where permission is obtained, designs  must be approved by Aermerea staff in the sketch stage and in the final  stage before they can be released for sale. Proper credit to the IP must  be given in an easy-to-find location with the finished piece.

Do  not post adopts without gaining approval and being scheduled first. Be  sure to utilize the exclusive channel #official-adopt-announcements in  the discord server to advertise!

Artists are  rotated from time to time to keep things fresh. Guests artists who  demonstrate good work ethic may be offered a promotion to official  artists after completing their rotation. Demonstrating good work ethic  does not guarantee a promotion.

Artists who have  never worked with us before will receive one free MYO ticket of random  rarity of the Aermerea species of their choice after their first piece  is completed. This ticket may not be upgraded, but it may be traded with  permission from an admin or gifted freely.

The  Winter Calendar event voids all fees to the group and allows the free  setting of prices regardless of adopt rarity. This is a perk to all  artists participating in the event regardless of fulfillment of other  requirements.

When pricing, we suggest following  the formula of charging the ticket price based on rarity and then adding  your own commission prices on top of that base ticket price. You may do  set prices or auctions at your own discretion. You may add worth to  your ABs with extras based on your own commission prices. You are free  to flex your pricing as needed, such as if you add extras to the adopt  or it’s been up for sale for awhile. We  honor the Terms of Service of artists we work with. However, if the  Aermerea Terms of Service contains points of contradiction with an  individual artist’s TOS, the Aermerea TOS overrides individual artist  Terms of Service. We understand that this may make artists uncomfortable  and encourage all artists to reach out to staff to answer all questions  in regards to this clause, especially if points of contradiction exist.

We  also hold a gacha that offers adopts at a discounted rate to help them  sell. This gacha is open to all artists. You may be awarded a ticket to  cover the difference between your adopt’s original price and the  discounted gacha price.

OFFICIAL ARTIST REQUIREMENTS

• Official artists are generally contracted for 3 months or more.
• You must do at least one adopt or one piece of group art (trait sheet, event banner, prompts, etc) per month.
• The group takes an 18% cut from any official adopt sales. If the adopt is priced over $30, the rate drops to 15%.
• Crossbreeds with your personal species are subject to an 8% cut to Aermerea.
• Official  artist adopts have free access to celestial/legendary traits and below.  This includes standard mutations. Prompt unlockable traits require  permission.

OFFICIAL ARTIST PERKS (valid as long as requirements have been met)

• Official  artists will receive a ticket of random rarity (very rare or higher) of  the species of their choice every three months. Tickets received can  end up with random godly mutations attached where applicable.
• Official artists will be entered in the monthly ticket raffle to receive a free random ticket.
• Official  artists will receive monthly payment in the form of species currency  (12,500 petals/500 pecunia coins, which has a value of $5).
• Official  artists have access to an exclusive artist chat in the discord server,  where you will be contacted first for participation in events,  calendars, and gachas, as well as seeing previews of adopts before the  rest of the community.
• Official artists may host NPC shops in the group.
• Official  artists may keep adopts they’ve designed for 40% off the MYO ticket  price. If the adopt is a crossbreed with your personal species, the  percentage rises to 60%.
• Cooldown times are halved on trading and reselling (one week on premade adopts and two weeks on tickets). 
• Official  artists are able to receive up to two extra weeks on all expiring MYO  event tickets. To receive the second week, please ask admins for an  extension.
• Official artists are given priority on higher rarities (anything above crossbreed).
• Official  artists will receive 15% off ticket shop prices as long as they’re on  staff. This artist discount stacks with other sales and cuts off at 50%.  Discounts do not apply to the pecunia shop. 

GUEST ARTIST REQUIREMENTS

• Guest  artists are generally contracted for one month. Please let us know if  you’d like your role removed after your rotation is complete.
• You must complete one or two adopts during your rotation.
• Aermerea  receives a 26% cut of all official adopt sales from guest artists. If  your adopt is over $40, the percentage drops to 22%.
• If you do a crossbreed with your personal species, the cut percentage drops even further to 13%.
• Guest artist adopts have access to very rare traits and below. Any other traits require permission from staff.

GUEST ARTIST PERKS

• When guest artists complete their rotations, they will be entered into a  monthly ticket raffle to win one free random ticket. Mutations can be  randomly added to this ticket where applicable.
• Guest artists will receive a per-rotation payment of 7,500 petals/300 pecunia coins, valuing at $3.
• Guest  artists have access to an exclusive artist chat in the discord server,  where you will be contacted after official artists for participation in  events, calendars, and gachas, as well as seeing previews of adopts  before the rest of the community.
• Guest  artists may keep adopts they’ve designed for 20% off the MYO ticket  price. This applies to all designs, including crossbreeds.
• Guest  artists will receive a 10% off, non-expiring voucher per rotation. This  voucher stacks with other sales, but cuts off at 50%. Multiple vouchers  cannot be stacked. Discounts are not valid in the pecunia shop.
