Linhardt: Ah, there you are.
Eleri: Huh? Oh I’m sorry, were you looking for me?
Linhardt: I was.
Eleri: …
Linhardt: Hmm…
Eleri: Ah, Linhardt was there something you needed me for? I know I must help weed the gardens but thought that wasn’t until later.
Linhardt: Oh no, it’s nothing of the sort. I was just told that you refused to allow Professor Hanneman to examine your crest.
Eleri: Why would I? It’s a crest. It’s in my blood. Not much else anyone needs to know is there?
Linhardt: Quite the contrary I think, your crest is one of the least documented in all of Fodlan, and even more strange, your house is the only one ever have a history of bearing the crest of Macuil.
Eleri: Must be lucky I guess to not have had licentious ancestors I suppose.
Lindhardt: Perhaps, but would it not be better to allow it to be studied, to learn the secrets of it and how it works? Don’t you want to know?
Eleri: No, not really. A crest is nothing more than a bartering chip for nobility- and while for some it might be helpful, to me it’s just a pain if anything.
Linhardt: Most people would kill for a crest, especially one so rare and coveted as that of one from one of the four saints.
Eleri: I’d rather I not have a crest at all, then I could do what I want with my life and not have to listen to and obey everything my parents demand of me.
Linhardt: Like spend your days mucking out wyvern stables and trying to wield a weapon twice your height?
Eleri: I’ll have you know I am getting better- but not everyone can cast a spell Linhardt. Besides, I don’t want to be a crest baby machine. Hubert may be… understanding, but he’s got the same expectations on him as I do.
Linhardt: Ah, I forgot, you’re expected to marry him once you graduate.
Eleri: Unfortunately.
Linhardt: That just means I will have to study your crest while I can then.
Eleri: I… never said you could though…
