There was a dull silence, the creatures seemed to leave just as quick as they appeared. All the lions and cats glanced at each other; some were nursing wounds while others were only just getting started. Xia herself was recovering from the cut on her leg, just a dull ache at this point. The herbs used were very effective in numbing the pain and preventing infection. Tasso had made his way back to the tree where he sat near his queen, still on edge.

Xia smiled at them both. “Good job guys. Tasso, I was extremely impressed with your fighting and Pecora I must thank you for helping me with this wound.” She said in a kind voice. “I’m lucky to have you both. For now, I am going to rest, please wake me up if there are any problems, try to stay together.” Tasso and Pecora nodded before replying. “Yes Queen.”

With that Xia retreated to the sleeping den that had been allocated to her for the night. Tasso and Pecora stayed on the ground floor socialising with the other lions until it was time for them to sleep. It was soon dark and all the cats and lions were asleep, no noises could be heard and the atmosphere was calm.

It was when the sun first rose in the morning that there was a mysterious force. Almost like another being in your mind telling you where to go. Some lions were already following the voice while others were desperately fighting it. No one knew what was going on.

Out of the three lions Xia was the first to feel the pull as she was the most vulnerable. Her mindset was strong so she was able to resist the pull. However, the resistance was so draining that she started to develop a headache that throbbed painfully. Tasso was soon awake and following the impulse blindly, his mindset weaker. Xia was quick to grab him and bring her to the floor. “Tasso, snap out of it, we don’t know where we are being led!”

Shaking his head Tasso focused on Xia, now knowing where he was. Pecora was quick to join them, seemingly unaffected by the impulse.

They were here to stay, nothing would change that.
