Dragons must undergo thorough courtship traditions before others will be interested in breeding with them. The Grand Display pushes their skills to the limit, ensuring only the finest of Dragons will go on to breed. Each element has their own traditions to impress others of their kind, though this same practice can dissuade their opposing element from breeding. Regardless of this, achieving their own element’s Grand Display is a dream of every growing dragon, and they are eager to enter into the ceremony as soon as permitted.

Before they can impress potential mates, they must earn the respect of an elemental dragon matching their own element which has already passed through the Grand Display

Strength Trial

The field was stunning in the daylight, the wildflowers various shades as the light dragon crossed them; mansion a simple white speck in the distance, the scent of saltwater fading the further she travelled; a small shadow crossed over her and Rose slowed her gallop, peering up... the shadow far to small to be Lucis, it had taken Alistair to stop the other dragon from following, afterall this was a trial she had to do without assistance from her bodyguard. Despite the sun, the horizon was dark, a storm brewing......the same element as the dragon that had descended, her small feathered frame all but drifting on the wind. "Greetings, Lady Rose." The dragon said politedly. "It is a pleasure to see you again, Mistral" She responded, a warmth in her voice, whatever was between their riders had never impacted the friendship they had. "It's rare to see you far from the Radiant Star, especially when she's in port." She continued, beginning to trot forward again, the pace easy enough for the small storm dragon to keep up; Mistral laughed. "You mean, why am i not with Calandra when she goes to report to Alistair? Vayu is with her, but like you, its time i completed the display; i can feel the pressure building." Rose nodded, surprised the independent dragon had not completed her Grand Display before now. "Well we seem to be heading in the same direction." The light dragon said, her gaze on the open fields beyond, a white haze as the flowers gleamed... and the shape of two dragons lurking there.

Mistral flew easily, her gaze locking on the larger green 'mistletoe' dragon , that cried out a greeting beating her much larger wings to circle around the smaller female; below, Rose slowed down before the light hybrid who was her own companion, its boneless body standing oddly; he was not as keen as the other dragon, but he nodded at Rose, accepting her as a challenger.

For a few moments the two avian dragons cicled, the storm pressing closer, clouds beginning to obscure the bright rays of the sun; Tehvah wasn't keen on fighting, but since this wasn't a true fight, she didn't mind it as much; a peel of thunder sounded and she dove, talons outstreched to grasp the much smaller female; Mistral hummed, rolling to the side, dodging the talons with ease, before shooting up, her small frame allowing her to climp with ease. Tehvah was slower to react, and as she turned, a small botl of ice hit her wing, Mistral zooming past and diving into a small cloud of fog that creeped over the fields, obscuring both the other dragon and herself, before launching another attact, Tehvah grinned, dodging the second attack and beating her wings, dispersing the fog before lunging down towards Mistral.

Rose felt the storm, hestitating for a single moment, she did not like fighting herself; but she could if need be; rearing up she leapt forward, hooves flashing as she lashed out at Wendigo, the male dodged nimbly, much quicker on his feet than Rose had anticipated, his tail cominhg round to snap at her, jumping back she bared her teeth slightly, and shook her mane, antlers facing forward to deter him; around them the fog swirled around them, and idea forming. She drew the light to her,, weaving it into an illusion, the fog taking on the form of Sleipnir, and it lunged at the male, he jumped back startled, before powering through it; but Rose was no longer their; her body powering into him, the side attack taking him by surprise so he stumbled...

Getting to his feet they circled around one another, to attack once again, above them Mistral and Tehvah did the same; the storm closing in on them from the distance, a chaotic witness to the trial underway...
