Act 1

A pair of hazel eyes kept drawing to the curtains, occasionally getting up to look out from behind a curtain on the stage. The crowd was murmuring away as they waited for the show to start, all curious of these pretty stage stars that had appeared out of what seemed to be nowhere and came to life. Retreating quickly, he returned to sit back down and memorize the song lyrics in his head. Hoping that if he distracted himself long enough the start would come and end, and then would be done.

It was a start the hazel eyed male wasn’t excited for to say the least. Even as he tried to focus on the lines that usually brought him calm and relaxing times, it was anything but that. The burnette could feel his stomach twist as he withdrew quickly and decided he’d hide out in the dressing room that was near the back and far away from the stage. Rubbing his bare arm as he looked around, everyone was so happy and hard at work. He wondered why he agreed to this though, it left him with a sick feeling.

In all fairness, it didn’t help that he was also currently crossdressing. It was no baggy hoodie and jeans, and very far out of the normal of what he’d wear publicly. Sure, there were moments he’d wear more scandalous things for his easily excited husband BUT that was a private time. A moment that very few sets of eyes have seen. The strange clothing could have been avoided, but nooooooo. All because he worried about the what ifs. What if people he knew from his more hardened murderous job that required seriousness saw him? So the solution was suggested, why not just be not him?

His mass of hair tamed for once, pulled into a ponytail with a brightly colored band. Earrings adorned his usually plain ears, hoops that caught the light so easily with their shine and were wonderful to look at when not on him. His usual long pants were replaced with a skirt, fluffed out with layers to hide his male features that hid under it. A long discussion brought him to that point, as the previous suggestion was shorts. The only thing that brought him some comfort in it’s familiarity was the fuzzy collared jacket. Baggy and warm, if they had left the sleeves on it would be perfect but noooooo, he had to show skin to entertain. Whatever that meant.

“Kaz, are you alright?” Turning his head suddenly, he sighed deeply as his racing heart calmed down.

“Darling, Atty, you startled me.” He told the pair as he walked towards them. Reaching out a hand for Artemis to rub her face against as a slight smile came to her face as he went to lean into the ginger male. Getting those back rubs of comfort, his worries melted away and the slightly worried look on his dragon’s face melted off.

Her glowing and wispy like eyes staring at him all the same, wringing her hands  as she looked away after. That feeling of embarrassment coming from her, from what though Kaz wondered.  It left Kaz curious why, but he realized he was not exactly in a comfortable mood and sent off all sorts of feelings of distress more than likely.

“I’m sorry, Missy said you weren’t feeling well. Are you sure you want to do this?” Though the one to set it up, from the stage to flinging the flyers around, Ixavier was also understanding and didn’t want to press Kaz too far out of his comfort zone.

“Yeah, it’s fine.” It wasn’t completely the truth, but his shy dragon never asked for anything until a few weeks ago.

After watching a singing show with the boys on the couch, she wanted to try and sing on stage. Flaunt a different personality and become adored by all the people she wouldn’t have to directly have to interact with all the time. She already did so ona  smaller scale when they had guests over or she’d just sing for the small ground, but she wanted more. How could he just break her heart and suddenly say no?

Hearing a meow ring out over the microphone, followed by a very convincing announcer voice that Link had been practicing, Kaz sighed as he stood back up, dusting off his slowly too short shirt that was again ‘for the entertainment’ as he motioned for Artemis to follow him.

“Come on little Missy, we have darling fans to make~” He purred, his worried expression coming to a grin as he winked at Ix. It’d take time, but he wasn’t going to back down just yet as he went onto stage.
