The Beginning

Once upon a time, long, long ago the world was created by the gods. They were the Mantigem god and goddess, and they looked down upon their empty world with happiness, yet something was missing.
Lonely, the two shared their power with the world below. Where ever the Sun Goddess walked, all kinds of flora bloomed and sprouted from the ground. And her tears of joy at the sight of flourishing life fell to the ground and created oceans and other bodies of water. The Moon God shared his blood with the dirt and out sprang all kinds of fauna, all moving to spread over the world.

The two deities watched this is delight and happiness. They had created life and were happy to watch it flourish, die out, and then start all over again. Yet despite this the two were still lonely. Yes, they had created life, but the flora would not speak to them, and the fauna fled when they approached. Wishing to create beings they could interact with, the two fashioned smaller versions of themselves out of clay, flora, and their own blood before berating life into each one with a kiss from them both. And it was then the first mantigems were created.

Thankful to the god and goddess for blessing them with life, the mortal mantigems worshipped them, and left offerings at the shrines built for them as a way to give thanks. A century passed and the moon god and sun goddess were happy; watching their creations frolic in the world they created for them. Yet the sun goddess was still saddened.

“Why are you sad, my love?” The Moon God asked holding her hands in his.

“I love our creations, and watching them brings me joy, yet I can not love them as children.” She wept.

“Well then,” the Moon God replied. “Let us create our own child. That way you will have one to love.”

The Sun Goddess weeped happily at this, and the two moved to create their own child. It was out of this that Tennor, the God of Starlight was born, a young boy whom the god and goddess loved with all their heart.
