Yei is still a character that is in development. I have a clear idea of how I want to create her but lack the literacy skills to convey that idea. as of now however, I am satisfied so far.

Yei is a spirit in her own world. inspiration for her partly came from Rin in the music video Shelter by Porter Robinson. there is chaos where she lives that has her escape to a new world where she can create anything she wishes. the worldbuilding aspect of that seemed fun to explore. the concept of her "power" comes from Zelda, specifically Breath of the Wild's Zelda. she has the blood of the goddess but has no access to her powers until she goes through immense fear and hardship. Yei is similar. she unknowingly has powerful ancestors yet cannot use any power she may have. the only known information about that is that she is able to create entirely new realms.

she suffers great guilt from being ignorant of her own ancestry. she does not even remember her parents. it is a sensitive topic for her. a lot of pressure is placed on her as being the "leader" of her kind, especially so suddenly having awakened a power within her. she feels great responsibility for the maintenance of peace. it took years for her to become confident in her leadership skills despite most people being overly warm and grateful towards her.

lets talk about her theme. if you click on her theme in her profile, it will take you to a song titled, "the lost place in the new world". it has a mystical and even lonely feeling to it. It starts out quiet but transforms into a highly electric and more energetic beat. Yei is not one to give in to insecurities easily. while they may bring her to feel terrible and sometimes lonely, she picks herself up. after all, she has a great responsibility. thinking about all the support she receives gives her more confidence.
