Another day in candle Town meant another day as a "browbird." Yuju had been alive for a couple of weeks now and felt they were starting to get a hang of life. Yuju woke early today because today was a special day. Yuju was going to "eat" lunch with their friends, their Browbird friends. While this may not seem like a crazy thing for anyone, Yuju had been waiting for this moment for a long time. Yu saw this as a sign of acceptance. They were going to eat just like every other brow on the planet and with Brows like themselves. Yuju had spent weeks emulating eating. Lifting the "tiny shovel" (of which they called silverware) to their face and touching the tip to where a mouth would be.  The only problem was the food didn't vanish like it should. Yu tried spooning the food down after they touched their face. However the result was less than great as they left a mess on themselves. This was not acceptable.  Yu settled for just emulating and not actually "eating." Maybe the conversation would be so riveting that no one would notice they were not eating. Yuju was banking on that.

With that solved, the cooking was the next step. Yuju studied many cookbooks and soup seemed like the easiest and most impressive. It was just a bunch of chopped up veggies with maybe choice of meat that was just simmered in a pot. Yu could do that. Gathering their ingrediants Yuju went to work setting up their space. Yu made sure the food was off the ground. They wanted to make sure nothing looked out of place. Taking a broom they brushed out some of their bedding(ash) in the great fireplace. It was a grand fireplace with a metal frame and deep backing. Yuju dragging the log holder back into place and puzzled. They hoped this is were the pot would go. The pot..Yu could have gotten something smaller. The cauldron was standard browbird size. They could have gotten something smaller but they were mostly children or kitbull version. Yu was neither of these things so cauldron it was. The pot looked heavy. Gathering all their strength, Yu dragged the pot to the fireplace with much gusto. It settled into the fireplace with a klunk. Yuju stood back to proudly see their handy work. Pot placed, now to figure out how to heat it.
