Introductory Stuff
Lovely Soldier Galaxy Gal (Japanese: 愛のソルジャー銀河ギャル, Hepburn: Ai no Sorujya Ginga Gyaru) is a shojou manga series created by Kaoru Nakajima. It follows the adventures of ex-newspaper delivery driver Aiko Kondo as she's given the ability to transform into Soldier Venus. She and seven others form the Solar Soldiers, a group chosen by the personification of the sun in order to protect the Solar System from invasion attempts by the neighboring Andromeda Galaxy.
The main setting is Neo Yokohama (unnamed in the English dub), a satellite orbiting planet Earth. Lunaria still exists and is populated by Americans (Texans in the English dub), and most people in general live on different space colonies. Each of the other planets in the Solar System control a property of Earth, and must be kept in balance.
Around the time that Galactiquest takes place, this is one of the few anime the average American will be aware of. This is Leon's favorite anime of all time. He styled his hair after Venus.
