Other mages were battering at the worm now, and Amadeus had some room to breathe. The beam was set to one said, more mangled (and burnt) then it had begun, and Mirek had settled in insistently next to Amadeus, letting the goat lean on the much larger bovine.

"...Sir."

"Mmm? what is it?"

Mirek paused, watching the mages battering the creature up ahead.

"Hagia... We're going to have to kill her, aren't we...?" Mirek's voice was trembling, and Amadeus felt a sharp pain in his chest. They were so new, these apprentice mages, they didn't realize - it was an awful thing to have to tell someone. He exhaled slowly.

"...Yes. We're going to have to kill h- ...it. As far as anyone has ever found, there is no cure to total corruption. A mage becomes a monster, the mage is... lost to us, and we must kill them to prevent them killing whoever has the missfortune of being in their path." Mirek flinched, and then nodded his head, posture sinking.

"...Alright, Sir."

"...Well. Can I convince you to start heading-" Amadeus was interrupted by startled shouts of warning, as the worm turned around - and valiantly ignoring the mages assaulting it, began heading for where the citizens had been fleeing the city.

"FUCK-"

"SIR- I know you can't move once your magic is on, but - If I carry you...?" Mirek peered at him intently. His words from earlier rang in Amadeus' head. 'Sir. People are going to die.'

"...Yes, Alright. Light the damned beam, and - we'll go after-" Amadeus willed his magic to erupt, and the tendrils sprain out of the air. Mirek lit the end of the beam - Amadeus' tendrils heaved it up- and the bullock swiftly leaned, using his head to scoop Amadeus up, and ran.

They had to get in front of her- they had to- it had certainly seemed disliked the fire earlier. Perhaps they could distract it from its path, save some of those that were running.

It wasn't too long before they could see one of its eyes, intently focused on its path ahead. Towards those fleeing the city.

Amadeus grimaced, aimed for the eye - and swung again, stabbing for the worm's eye, the flare of the flames blocking some of his aim.

He missed - it plunged into the worm's flesh, but clear of the eye- however, judging by the brain-curdling screech, it'd at least prove a... momentary distraction.
