HUMANS

You should know what a human is. Normies. Powern't. People without supernatural/magical abilities.

GIFTED

"Gifted" people are individuals who possess magical/supernatural abilities. They don't actually have an official species name, as gifted people are quite rare. So rare in fact, they are considered an urban legend. They opt to call themselves "gifted" as they consider their abilities a gift, the name also alludes to them less.

Gifted individuals have a different type of blood compared to humans. It's generally the same, with the exception of small particles of magic (akin to glitter) running through the blood as well. The particles are different depending on the ability a gifted individual possesses. Special gloves can be made that attract/repel particles to either increase or control magic.

Gifted people can have a range of abilities which are most commonly basic element controls, but there are more unique abilities out there as well. To heavily simplify, being gifted is a result of possessing a homozygous recessive genotype of an unknown gene. Homozygous dominant individuals are plain humans, and heterozygous individuals are carriers.

CARRIERS

Carriers are...mostly human.

If carriers have a child with a gifted individual, then there is a chance a gifted child can be born. They may have traits associated with being gifted, such as vivid/different eye colors, physical traits meant to adapt to magical abilities, slightly heightened senses, slightly longer lifespan, etc., Most do not have magical abilities, but some can be capable of learning how to wield magic.

WOODLINGS

Tree people, basically. They’re often considered an urban legend because most Woodlings do not interact with humans. They're often described as having horns or "antlers" made of tree bark on their head. Most Woodlings are tall, with the shortest adult woodlings being no shorter than 6'0". Though some branches (ha) of woodlings can be shorter or taller on average.

There are many variations of Woodlings. Most tree species have a corresponding...subspecies of Woodling to go with it. except for sand cherry tree Woodlings they're dead ssh

Woodlings have the ability to manifest claws at their will. These claws are made of tree-bark and begin at the forearm. When using these claws, Woodlings can carry heavier things, the "fingers" of the claws are also very sharp. Overall, their claws are capable of dealing heavy damage. But despite these claws being made of tree bark, if they are damaged heavily, it will take a severe toll on a Woodling physically.

Woodlings’ claws, or “tree arms” can... grow?? Kinda looks like tree roots. Once...extended.. they can have dangerous capabilities, but it takes energy to make their claws "grow." Things can also grow on Woodling's claws, primarily leaves and small flowers, if around a tree or bush, whatever is growing on there will grow on their claws.

If a Woodling has their claws manifested while experiencing strong, negative emotions: sharp, jagged, branches will grow from their claws. The starting point of their claws will move up their arm, until their whole entire arm, and some of their shoulders is consumed by...tree bark. Woodlings will also not be able to manifest their claws if they either a. are dehydrated or b. haven't been exposed to sunlight within a few days. Most Woodlings will have scars at the elbow from manifesting their claws. (Their claws basically embed into their arms using tiny roots to stick to their arm, once they de...manifest, the roots simply come out and the claw falls off, dissipating into leaves)
