Dawn was busy this weekend setting up her new shop. She had been in the process of opening a new bakery in Timberglen. She had gotten financial help from her father, and although she didn't have his support in her love life, she definitely had his support in her goals and dreams.

She was excited to see she was having a new business neighbor across the street. Another small shop also seemed to be opening soon. It looked cute, but like her own shop, there was no sign or name on it yet. She was hoping she would get a chance to be able to greet her new neighbor.

Just then a white, shiny Tolsa pulled up right in front of the shop across from hers. It seemed familiar but she didn't think much of it. She waited excitedly, was it a boy or a girl? How old were they? What would they be selling? So many questions rushed her mind. The car door opened, and out from the Tolsa emerged a beige bunny with a minty colored hair-do and a snooty look. She recognized that puffy hair anywhere! Her childhood friend, Sweetie Pai, was the shop owner?! This couldn't be!

Sweetie and Dawn were the best of friends. They did everything together, sleepovers every week, birthday parties and even having the same classes at school. But when they got to middle school, Sweetie started to change. She became snobby and thought she was better than the other girls her age. She treated people like servants and Dawn couldn't stand to be friends with someone like her. So, she ended their friendship. Sweetie has had a hatred for Dawn since their argument in middle school, and them promising they would open up a bakery together made it obvious as to what her shop was going to be selling. Sweetie noticed Dawn across the street and proceeded to march right in.

"Oh no! No! No! No! No! What are you doing here Delaney! This is my side! Find a new location to put your filthy bakery!" Yelled Sweetie.

"That's not how it works Sweetie!" Dawn scoffed and facepalmed. "It's a whole process, I can’t-"

"Yes, you can, try harder!" Persisted Sweetie. "There can't be two bakeries on the same street!"

"Well, you're welcome to move." Stated Dawn.

"Hmph! Fine, be that way! I'll show you; my Bakery will be far superior than yours! Customers will flock to my shop! You'll have to close! Hahaha!" Mocked sweetie. She looked past Dawn and into her kitchen. She saw some of Dawn's freshly baked cupcakes and proceeded to judge them. She picked up a warm dessert and inspected every angle, then took a small bite.

"You call this a dessert? These aren't even half as good as mine!" Sweetie held it upside down and let it drop to the floor.

Dawn's face glowed a light red as she growled. Sweetie walked over to a pie left on a cooling rack and knocked it over.

"Whoopsie!" Sung sweetie.

"Sweetie! Get out of my shop, now!"

"Don't worry, I was planning to, this place is way too cramped, and your decor is way too tacky. By the way, did you see my ride? It's my new boyfriend's. He's a Hottie, super-rich too. You'll probably get to meet him today; He'll be stopping by my shop any minute now. Later loser~!" She let out an obnoxious laugh and walked out of the store.

Dawn was irritated, but she didn't want Sweetie to ruin her day. She tried her best to calm her nerves. She sighed kneeling down by the mess and began to wipe the floor. Shortly right after, Bosko arrived at Dawn's shop and found her on the floor scrubbing.

"Oh, hey what happened? Did you trip over yourself again?” Asked Bosko handing her a couple more napkins. Dawn sighed.

"No, I just had an old friend visit me but she wasn't very happy to see me. . ." Bosko’s gentle smile turned into a frown.

“What do you mean?” Wondering exactly what she meant by that.

“She came in, insulted the way the cupcake tastes, made a mess, and took off.” Bosko stood silent for a moment.
“Okay, I’m going home to get my bat. If she doesn’t like the way your cupcakes taste, maybe she’ll like the taste of aluminum.”
“No... It’s fine… Thanks, though Bosko… I really appreciate your support.” Said Dawn giving him a sweet smile.

A loud train-sounding horn scared the couple. It seemed to be coming from outside. They ran to the shop entrance to see where the noise was coming from. Behind Sweetie’s Tolsa was parked a tall muddy Off-Road truck. She felt an emptiness in the pit of her stomach.
“Oh no, you’ve got to be kidding me!” said Dawn facepalming once more.
“What is it?” Bosko tried to make sense of the situation.

“Sweetie told me she got a new boyfriend today…” Dawn said quietly.

“So? Who cares?” asked Bosko.

“You don’t understand, Bosko. . . Her boyfriend is-“

All tall lean Buck with large pointy antlers stepped down from the truck, he slammed the truck door.
“Dusk!!” screamed Sweetie running out of her shop and glomping Dusk.

“Hey, Babycakes.” Said Dusk Holding sweetie and giving her a kiss.Dawn felt utterly disgusted. Her ex and her ex-best friend? Hooking up? This is the worst thing to ever happen. She wasn’t jealous, but it definitely made her feel extremely uneasy. Bosko rolled up his sleeve.

“Not this fucker again, hold on, I’ll deal with this.” He said, but Dawn stopped him from walking any further.

“No Bosko, you’ll only make things worse!” They argued a bit, and that’s when Dusk noticed them from across the street.

“Hey, you! I got a bone to pick with you!” He said marching across the street. Sweetie scurried after him.

“Dusk what’s the meaning of this?!” Sweetie said tugging at Dusk’s vest.

“Bosko, please don’t fight anymore, don’t do this!” Dawn stood in front of Bosko and pushing him back with all her force. Bosko stood face to face with Dusk. Tension was high. They glared at each other with intense hatred in their eyes.

“You back for another round of getting your ass kicked?” Smiled Bosko Malevolently.

“We'll see who’s kicking whose ass bandit!” Growled Dusk balling his fist.

“Wait!” Sweetie interrupted them. “Do you guys know each other??”The two men back away, calming themselves down a bit. Dawn looked at her with a nervous face.

“Yeah, I know them.” Mentioned Dusk. “Dawn’s my Ex. And I got into a quarrel with her boyfriend there two years back.”

“What!? You dated Dawn?!” cried Sweetie in disgust.

“Yeah, worst mistake I ever made.” Said Dusk looking directly into Dawn’s eyes.

“Hmph! I'll say! You may not be aware Dusk, but Dawn is also opening a bakery here. I'll be having some competition soon.” Sweetie said crossing her arms.

“Well,” Said Dusk looking at both Dawn and Bosko. “You’ll just have to knock this competition out of the water then, baby girl.” He said looking at her. The couple laughed offensively.

Bosko was trying to control his rage. He didn’t like people talking bad about Dawn and her passion, but he also knew that Dawn didn’t want to see them fight either. He looked at Dawn for a sign of direction or action. She looked at him and shook her head. Bosko took a deep breath.

“Whatever, you people aren’t worth wasting time on, come on Dawn, let’s go.” Said Bosko turning around to walk away.
Sweetie yelled out. “Yeah, I’m sure you’re sooo busy! Don’t you have a dumpster to rummage through?” Dusk and Sweetie laughed arrogantly.
Bosko turned around walked toward Sweetie.Bosko's tone deepened. “Listen here you little shit-“

Dusk pushed him back. “Hey fuckface, touch my girl and you’re dead!” The two men put their fists up. Dawn had enough! She stood between both men and yelled.

“Stop it! I’m sick of this! I don’t care who's bakery you think is better! When the shops officially open, well see which bakery the people like more. Sweetie, if your bakery does better than mine in annual sales, then fine I’ll move. But if my shop does better then you have to move.”

“Hmph, fine! You have yourself a deal Delaney.” They shook hands. Sweetie pulled Dawn close and whispered in her ear.

“You just made a bet you’re gonna lose. You’re gonna regret messing with us.” Dusk and Sweetie walked out of the bakery.

Feeling relived a potential crisis was evaded, Dawn rubbed her head. Bosko was proud of the way Dawn handled that situation. She had so much poise and control. He tried to cheer up his girlfriend.

“Don’t worry, I’ll help you out where I can Dawn. I'm not the best chef-“

“Baker.” Dawn corrects him.

“Right, Baker, but you have my support! You can teach me stuff and I can help you out around the shop when things get too busy. Well win, don’t worry” Dawn gave Bosko a small kiss on the cheek. “Thanks, Hon.”
