DigiDolls were first conceptualized by a smaller company called Techi World, however Digi-WOW’s popularity ran the other company out of business before they could be released and stole the idea. The original name of DigiDolls was RoBoBuddies, and there were already a few prototypes that were secretly stolen and used by Digi-WOW.

There have always been a lot of shady things happening at Digi-WOW Inc. Cutting corners, underpaid staff, toxic materials in their toys, etc. However they remain popular due to them putting out NEW toys FASTER & FASTER. There was something strange going on with the release of DigiDolls though. For some reason, the toy’s code took an uncharacteristically long time to develop, and they released three years after they were first advertised at DigiCon.

As soon as DigiDolls were released, people started noticing strange things about them. Their personalities seemed almost TOO real. If the DigiDolls Series One game was emulated into a computer, the webcam would always immediately turn on once the game was launched. If the physical toy was damaged, the in-game character would become corrupted and glitchy. Digi-WOW’s excuse was that the Series One dolls were imperfect, and would be improved in Series Two. Series Two was scheduled to release in early March, and DigiDolls fans of all ages waited impatiently....
