The Grassland tribe has adapted to survive and thrive in the harsh heats of the deserts and savannas. They live on the ground, rarely going up into trees as there aren't many around, so they are very stealthy through the grass and cacti.


Biomes

The main biomes found in the Grassland territories are as listed below:

- Grass savanna
- Tree savanna
- Semiarid desert
- Dry steppe
- Xeric shrubland
- Arid desert

Plants found in any of these biomes may be used for your Akirr's leaf cape. Plants found in other biomes along with one or more on this list may also be used.

Main Towns

Homebase - Velicra (vel-ee-cra)

Velicra is located North of the Grassland territory, surrounding a lush oasis full of vegetation and life. This is one of the most notable cities, as Deya, the regular shop owner, has her main set-up here; lots of trade occurs at this place.

Housing is made to be very airy and shaded to protect the residents from the harsh sun, walls may be thin, with many openings within, and grass is a common material to create roofs. Rain collectors are quite normal to see around, even though they live right next to an oasis, as it ensures there is a back-up available for the worst case scenarios.
At night it gets to very cold temperatures, Akirrs are highly encouraged to cover their windows and doors up to try to keep warm inside. They may have animal pelt or a small fireplace for extra warmth at night; smoke from the fire escapes through the roof.

Currently Veicra has an increasing population of ~1000-1200 Akirrs. It is a highly desirable and rich place to live due to the trading scene, so many Grassland Akirrs decide to move here to reproduce comfortably.
