ABOUT US . . .

Fortune to Misfortune is a collaborative project between my friends and I to build an interwoven story between our groups of GTA and RDO characters. It has been in the works for several years now, and has seen a lot of growth over that time! With this page, i've finally begun to centralize and solidify a lot of the story beats that we've created and i'm excited to get it out into the world!

A brief disclaimer; This world is available for viewing, but is a closed project. I'm only comfortable with allowing friends to create characters for this setting, since it keeps things simplier! If you're particularly interested in having a crossover or your own characters interact with ours, you're welcome to dm me on my twitter here! I'm happy to chit chat about it!

Our story is broken up into two distinct sections, which I break down slightly below and in forum posts (coming soon). We have the GTA group, which we affectionately call 'the goons', and the RDO group, which we just refer to as 'the cowboys'. We place Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto within the same universe, which I understand is a bit of a controversial opinion, but hey! It's for fun. With that, some of our RDO characters are directly related to our GTA characters, but that isn't the case for all of them! Both groups have distinct but somewhat connected stories, which you'll be able to learn about soon! For now, enjoy the brief synopsis provided below!

PRESENT . . .

Our main story, set in Los Santos, San Andreas. Los Santos is a large city on an island in the west coast, with a busy nightlife and an even busier crime scene. Here, we follow one of the largest criminal outfits the city has ever seen; Running Elk's crew.

Ms. Cleo Running Elk has spent years gathering a close knit and talented gaggle of compatriots to help head her business. They have well over half of the city pinned beneath her heel from where they sit under the roof of their nightclub, The Palace. But Los Santos is a dog eat dog market, and they are not exempt.

PAST . . .

A smaller but no less important story, set primarily in Big Valley, West Elizabeth. West Elizabeth is a state dominated by thick forests, mountain foothills and beautiful rivers. It's here where a group of bounty hunters under the lead of a Ms. Kicking Horse reside.

Kicking Horse is planning something. What that is is anyone's guess, but what is known is that she needs two things; Loyalty, and guns. In the mean time, her small gang brings in bounties, runs moonshine, and trades with the locals to make ends meet. Things will fall in place in time. She just needs to be patient.
