Ahnaquas are an intelligent aquatic species that live in Terra Di Mare's oceans and seas. They are able to use tools, hunt, farm, read, and write. Much like dolphins, they use clicks to echolocate and communicate. Some ahnaquas even use a primitive form of sign language.

Ahnaqua society is incredibly advanced. Not unlike here in the United States, they live in towns, most under a singular government. However, this government is communist-democratic, meaning that while everyone gets their needs (and some wants) met, they can work to earn more money. Speaking of money, ahnaquas use a currency of silver coins: neocoins. Neocoins are widely accepted, but some ahnaquas prefer trade. This is because before there were towns, many ahnaquas lived in small groups and traded to survive.

Ahnaquas have a sister species, ahnaeros, but because ahnaeros live on land, the two species rarely interact. However, many, many years ago, there was a war between the two species, ending with ahnaquas being the dominant species on Terra Di Mare. The ahnaero species was left without a central government, but many of them prefer it that way, as trade is much more accessible and profitable.
