Terms of Service
Kleptomimis are a semi-closed species. You can make common Kleptomimis for free, but uncommon and rarer traits can be obtained through purchase or events. Any questions can be sent to Kleptomimis or asked in the TH or Discord. Refusal to follow the rules or breaking them with intention will result in a blacklist from the species.

Pre-made adopts
Official designs can be purchased on the site, either by OTA's (offer to adopt), bids, or flat sale. Amounts and methods of payment depend on what the artists wish to price it at based on quality, effort, and traits. Only permanent artists and guest artists (through application) will be able to make and sell official Kleptomimis. All other creations are considered MYOs.
- All payments will be done through Paypal
- If you have claimed design, payment must be sent within 24 hours in order to keep it. If you have a conflict, please let the seller know as soon as possible to negotiate.
- If you do not pay after 24 hours, the design will go back up for auction/sale
- There will be many free MYO and adopt events/raffles that do not require money
All designs and prices must go through before putting up an adoptable to ensure fairness.
Trades:
Trading and reselling Kleptomimis are done at your own risk. We are not responsible for the user being scammed or stolen from during the act of trading or selling to another third-party. If you believe you've been scammed, or are being overcharged for a design from a different user not affiliated with the Kleptomimi team, please contact us with proof for further assistance.
Please be sure to follow up after a trade/re-sale has been completed so we can update the masterlist with the correct information!
Ownership
Rules
When you have acquired a Kleptomimi either by purchase, adopting, trading, or from making your own, it is completely yours. Nobody else has the rights to use the character unless you have strictly given them permission. However, there are rules to owning them.
- With a Kleptomimi, you can:
- Use them for personal use
- Drawing/creating artwork
- Roleplay
- Comics
- Plushies
- Commissioning art from someone
- Any other personal design use that is NOT sold to an audience
- Add them to the Kleptomimi world
- Sell or trade them (at your own risk)
- Change their name, pronouns, or gender
- Create a backstory for them
- Change their design (see “Design Changes” first)
- Base them off of an OC or use the design in a different species
- Use them for personal use
- You cannot:
- Create pieces that contain illegal or harmful content
- Change the value if selling or trading
Design changes
If you would like to change your Kleptomimis design for any reason, please contact Kleptomimis before doing so. You cannot change the rarity of the traits of your kleptomimi, and must keep the design mostly the same. If you wish to upgrade or downgrade the rarity of a trait, you must purchase the corresponding item to do so. Downgrading is less expensive than upgrading. Upgrading traits depends on what rarity you're jumping too. Change of clothing or outfits do not need permission to change.
Voiding
If you would like to void your character for any reason, as always, please contact us at Kleptomimis before hand. If you would still like to keep the character and design, but take it out if you are leaving the species, we ask that you not have a talisman connected to them, or have a bag like tail to dissociate from the species. You may change other aspects if you wish. If you have an empty MYO you would like to void, please transfer the slot back to us so we can get it off your hands and redistribute it to the community. You can always unvoid a character if you choose to void a full design.
