"I'd love to have my own Pocket Pal! How can I get one?"
You can obtain Pocket Pals via MYOs, adopts, or trading in the community! However, they are a closed species, so these are the only ways of obtaining one.
"How can I get a MYO?"
MYOs can be recieved for free from monthly offerings where you offer art in exchange for a MYO! You can choose between a prototype or corrupted MYO, but the rarity will be based on the offer itself with rare MYOs being the least common to obtain. You can also obtain them with USD when slot offers arise, the openings for these will be announced ahead of time in a newsletter and on the Discord server! There are also ways to obtain them from special events and with our species currency (bytes), but we're in the midst of working out how we want to make that system work.
"If I have a rare MYO can I use uncommon traits?"
Yes! If you have a rare MYO, you can use any traits from any lower tier. That applies to uncommons as well!
"If I want to sell my Pocket Pal, can I?"
Yes, but if it was obtained for free or made from a freely obtained MYO, you'll need to add value to the design itself with added art to sell it for any real currency. You can, however, sell them for as many bytes as you like!
"Will my personal art be included in adding value to the Pocket Pal?"
Yes! However, quick doodles and memes don't count, and when pricing your Pocket Pal, please do so fairly!
"I would love to be a guest artist! How can I become one?"
We have openings for guest artist applications announced VIA announcement in the Discord server, so keep your eyes out for that! We're super excited to see what artists in the community will create with their guest artist Pocket Pals!
"Can I model my Pocket Pal after a pre-existing non-Pocket Pal OC of mine? What about pre-existing fictional characters that aren't mine?"
You CAN make a Pocket Pal based on a pre-existing OC of yours! HOWEVER, when it comes to fictional characters that aren't yours, loose inspiration is as far as you should go. Please no Pocket Pal Ash Ketchums!
"Can I make NSFW content for my Pocket Pal?"
The server and the Pocket Pal world are a PG-13 MAX space, however, making NSFW content that is privated, censored, and appropriately tagged AWAY from ANY spaces that ANY minors can have access to see it is fine! As far as suggestive material, try to keep it light, as Pocket Pals and the species spaces we have for them are intended to be completely safe for minors. If you wouldn't see it on Cartoon Network, it's probably not a good idea.
- Depicting any genitalia falls under this rule; keep it private or under authorized only!
- Barbie-doll nudity is a-okay!
"I want to redesign a pal but cannot reach the designer."
You need permission to redesign or make a design a Pocket Pal.
"I want to redesign a Pocket Pal that has multiple redesigns, who do I contact?"
You only need to contact the original designer, not any redesigners.
"Can the Pocket Pals logo be used for folder logos?"
Yes, just credit the creator (xtcherub) / PocketPalsInc account.
"Can I make a non-pal AU of my pal?"
Yes.
★ TRAIT FAQ ★
"Can my Pocket Pal have "X" trait or feature?"
We purposefully made Pocket Pals able to be super freeform and accessible, so unless there's a rule in the trait sheet about the trait specifically, you can most likely do it! Want to make those wings insectoid? Want to make their fingers and toes webbed? Go for it! The world is your oyster! There may be traits that become adopted into the species later that will be purchasable from the shop or are tiered under a rarity, but until then it's free game!
"Where is bioluminescence allowed and not allowed? How many colors are allowed?"
Just like traits and features in general, the bioluminescence trait is made to be less restrictive in nature. As far as location is concerned, commons can have it anywhere on their limbs, and can be on multiple limbs. And with uncommons and rares, they can be literally ANYWHERE on the body! Want to make the insides of their ears glow? Their mouths? Go for it! The possibilities are endless! As far as how many colors are permitted for the trait, as long as the overall color scheme still follows the guidelines in the trait sheet of matching to the color scheme of the pod, it's allowed! There's no formal color limit.
"Do Corrupted Pocket Pals need to have dark color palettes?"
Corrupted Pocket Pals are just like any other pocket pal. Yes, a majority of their body should be shrouded in shadow, but aside from that they are as free of limitation on design traits as any other Pocket Pal. They can be grungy, neon, rainbow, etc! Go crazy!
"Can my Pocket Pal have (animal specific trait)?"
Pocket Pals can have any animal trait as long as they still have their kitty feet!
"Can my Pocket Pal have multiple outfits?"
Yes! Pocket Pals can express themselves with their hair and clothing however they like just like a real person!
"Can eye pupil shape change?"
No.
"Can a pal have multiple pods?"
No.
"Can you change traits when redesigning a pal?"
Yes. (must be within same rarity)
"Can bioluminescence move?"
Yes. (glass limb ex. lava lamp, or holographic limb.).
"If a pal has multiple living appendages, halos, etc. would you need multiple of an item?"
No.
"Can someone use two trait upgrades to get a rare trait for a common?"
Yes.
"Can a pal have a corrupted and prototype form?"
Yes (requires two MYOs).
"Can a pocket pal have an animal head/be an anthro?"
Yes.
"Can corrupted pals be entirely shadow?"
Yes.
