There are two different types of I-dollz, each specializing in a different type of music and having different looks. Some music genres may overlap depending on the clothing and color choices. Mainstream
Mainstream genres are more upbeat and 'bright' styles of music. These types usually have brighter wardrobes in relation to their off-beat counterparts, but are also more popular genres. These I-dollz have the hearts on the right side of their heart monitor. Their halos are on the Treble Clef scale, meaning that they must have a treble clef found somewhere on their halos.

Off-beat I-dollz typically play heavier, darker, or more intense music. A few other outliers fall into this category, as they are more obscure or have dimmer/darker colors to represent the genre. They have upside down hearts found on the left side of their heart monitor. Their halos are on the Bass Clef scale, meaning that the clef must be found somewhere on their halo.
