PLOT EVENTS

 The Silent Earth

The sound of screams filling the skies of Armonia alarmed its residents, and led to discovery of an underground labyrinth. An exploration of the depths was ordered and research of the ruins commenced.

Pretty quickly it was made apparent that the tunnels were used by people at some point due to the presence of traps and intentional hazards to impede progress into the depths.

Spaces were uncovered that suggested these ruins were used by ancient people as a stronghold of sorts. There was a mural depicting a war between humans and Pokemon. The humans rallied under a large serpent biting its own tail, and a tall humanoid with long dark hair serving as a prophet or holy warrior of some sort. The Pokemon rallied under a large single eye in the heavens.

Throughout these tunnels researchers uncovered an amphitheater, training grounds, forge, and other places intended for human use. These continued to enforce the idea that humans lived underground at some point, and also harnessed a strange magic from Unown using names of the Unown characters to channel their specific powers.

Meanwhile as researchers fought through Pokemon, traps, and other dangers they found they weren't alone in the caves. A ghost dubbed "Danfallen" appeared to be searching the caves for someone and progressively became more and more violent. Eventually it was discovered he was not only part ghost, part man… he was a man who went missing from Tidepool Cove called Arnbjorn, and had been seemingly fused with a Dhelmise for power.

He didn't seem to be in control of his actions since he appeared to be jumping through shadows into the ocean and back to the caves. After trying to connect to him as a person, he was able to gain a sense of lucidity, but was ultimately able to be saved/recruited once a sigil branded into his back had been struck to break the symbol with a scar.

However a strange woman who floated above the ground and had a deep dark void where her face should be suggested to the researchers they would be reclaiming Arnie. "Remember that he's a killer when we come to retrieve him. You'll be safer if he's with us."

Progress through the caves also revealed a strange corridor with challenges and a massive puzzle door the party solved only to uncover a sleeping figure on a stone altar. They could not be awoken, but strangely enough they also appeared to be the same figure in the war mural standing at the center of this giant serpent.

Research into the uncovered sites continues to find all the information possible. Additionally Professor Agnes is trying to find a way to wake the sleeping individual from the caves, and find answers to Arnbjorn’s condition, and if other Human-Pokemon fusions exist.

SILENT EARTH FINDS

1. Stone tablets in a place of worship. They show half of the Unown alphabet and the names spoken aloud to invoke their power.

2. A dilapidated library with the other half of the Unown alphabet. Also discovered was a connection to the power of Unown and the text they are drawn to/leave behind.

3. A stone mural in the entryway. The bas relief depicts ancient civilizations rallying around a massive serpent biting its own tail mimicking an ouroboros. Standing at the middle is a tall humanoid with long flowing hair possibly a prophet. The first indications of a Human-Pokemon war.

4. An ancient armory with old forges, and a number of symbols repeated throughout. Three small circles on the points of a triangle, with a larger circle connecting the points. This pattern has been found in many places with Unown characters in the smaller circles.

5. An amphitheater. Possibly used for entertainment and public forum. Discovered inside was a holy symbol to the giant serpent, and the realization that the sleeping figure found behind a puzzle door had statues here. They must be hundreds if not thousands of years old!

6. A work shop in excellent condition. The metal is shining and uncorroded. A small replica of the puzzle door was found along with the symbols and carvings that made the lock/solved the puzzle. Three Unown characters, O, H, and K along with the phrase "Purify and protect this space."

7. An old kiln filled with ceramic dishes, and odd dolls that vary in size. A book was uncovered with Unown characters K, C, D in the front cover, but the room was loosely searched. More info needed.

8. An ancient classroom/lecture hall where hundreds of stone tiles were found. Elemental plates that contain the powers of pokemon. Flame Plates, Splash Plates, Meadow Plates, etc.  It was also implied humans could use them for power, or learn about powers from them.

9. An ancient green house filled with glowing crystals that imitate sunlight. This space was full of ancient plants used for food, and medicine. More study of this space is necessary.

10. A large chamber, likely a vault or study of some kind. Sealed like the Puzzle Door, with murals depicting the history of humans. There are depictions of the first humans joining Pokemon in the wilds. Images of peace and unity between man and beast, until The Eye intervened. It sent Pokemon to purge the humans from the land, and the Prophet of the Ouroboros organized and fought back. A large chamber with a ton of history... needs to be further studied.

PLOT EVENTS

The Screaming Heavens

"A cloudless night sky with a dark new moon sits tranquil atop the mountains and hills of Armonia. Calm pools below reflect the dark night like mirrors, giving the stars but a faint moment in their existence to marvel at their own beauty. The settlements of Armonia are tucked away in slumber as the cool night air draws out voices of bugs and the gentle song of wind through trees like an applause. But the peace is short-lived.

The dark calm night is shattered as a raucous shriek tears across the land waking and alerting every living thing in the region. The scream echoes on for what feels like minutes as the wailing sound becomes more desperate and pained.  Those who have moved to investigate outside are met with glowing cracks that spread across the black heavens like shattering glass. Eerie pale light flashes from these fissures almost like the sky itself isn't sure whether it should be night or day.

Pieces of shattered sky begin to fall to the earth as glowing shards while the wails reach their crescendo when it ends abruptly. The shrieking stops… leaving the world unsettlingly quiet. The dark sky is no longer burdened with the odd fracturing light, but the stars feel dimmer than they did before. "

Professor Agnes Iarda requested Pokemon Trainers search the lands to find a Sky Shard. A piece of the fractured heavens that had fallen to earth. A fragment was recovered! But also led to a discovery of a Labyrinth under the earth, recently disturbed.

The Professor feared grave robbing, or Pokemon tampering with a potential historical find, and paid Trainers to search the depths.
