SETTLEMENTS

Lumiose Village: A sprawling town protected behind walls of wood and stone. The heart of the town is the Church of Balance which worships the duality of life and death. Xerneas and Yveltal. Out from the center there are market stalls, taverns, and other places that have begun to pop up now that the CorviKnights are ranking up more frequently. The town hasn’t seen much disaster lately, but some fear that just means a big one will be coming.

Villagers live in log and stone buildings around the church, and the towering Fort Montgomery built of stone and iron acts as a safe haven for villagers in case disaster does strike.

Corviknight Castle: A sprawling castle of carved stone serving as the home base for the CorviKnights. Behind the fortified walls there’s immense knowledge hidden in their libraries, mythology from other lands, details on Pokémon observed by the founder. Now her son runs the keep and maintains order. Those who become knights get their own rooms in the castle and are welcome to make it their home.

Evergreen Grove: A clearing in a forest of evergreen trees. The Ninetales Clan calls this place home with a hunting community that survives off of the meat and furs of nearby Pokémon. The frozen rivers nearby also provide the community with fish and freshwater. While cold, the tents constructed with bones, pine logs and thick furs keep residents warm and safe. The bitter cold also keeps many Pokémon away, so it’s easier to prepare for the dangers here.

Looming Spire: Atop a massive mountain the Dragonite Clan lives in beautiful wood structures, and gather in a longhouse decorated with images of dragons for the community. Cold and windy, the residents here have grown to be hardy. The food is tough, but hunting on the backs of dragons has allowed the community to thrive.

Lunar Summit: The Crescent Moon Clan lives on this dark spire overlooking the land. They live in canvas tents which normally would not protect against the elements, but the combined psychic power of the residents and their Pokémon let them predict the weather and even part the clouds around them. The sky is always visible here.

Painted Meadows: The Lurantis Clan has squat wooden structures that sit at sharp angles in this vibrant field. They spend much of their time gardening, painting, and dying fabrics due to the amount of pigments available from the flowers. The fields are always sunny and the roaming Lurantis offer protection to the humans who’ve made their homes here in exchange for shelter on cold nights.

Swarming Dark: Deep in the heart of the black woodlands the Yanmega Clan lives in a sprawling community of tree houses. Ropes, bridges, and platforms connect each tree house, so some individuals will go years without ever touching the ground. Yanma zip through the canopies bringing fruits and other insects to be eaten by the Clan.

Thundering Shore: Storm clouds are a common sight here, and waves crash against the shore with such violence the sound rivals that of the sky. The Raichu Clan live in short structures partially buried into the hillside to withstand the constant storms and winds. The clan tends to hunt sea birds and fish for food riding over the waves on wooden boards propelled by Alolan Raichu.

Tidepool Cove: The waters of the cove are calm and clear thanks to the natural bay formed by rocks and sand. The Lapras Clan is surrounded by tide pools filled with unique Pokémon. There’s a real oneness with nature here, and the large Lapras population keeps the water-based clan connected by carrying people between house boats and rafts that float across the gentle waters.

HABITATS

Black Woodlands: a dark dense forest to the southeast of Lumiose Village. This sprawling thick woodland contains many resources, but dangerous bug types hide in the dark. If you must travel here… be sure to bring some antidotes.

Crimson Wastes: a dust bowl to the west of Lumiose village. Clay can be collected here for pottery, but the harsh conditions make it incredibly dangerous. As if powerful Pokémon hiding in dust storms wasn’t bad enough, you’d better pray to Xerneas you don’t get dust pneumonia.

Crystalline Coast: Farther to the West of the Crimson Wastes is a shimmering coast with grassy fields and pastures. While one of the less dangerous locations thanks to its level of visibility two sprawling caves of crystals and mirror-like walls exist here. The Tidepool Cove leader and the Raichu Clan leader limit access to these sites due to the number of deaths over the years.

Demon Lands: Out east there are rumors of giant Pokémon. Unknown forms of beasts that rival the power of gods. A falling star is blamed for this chaos, and while there’s interest in researching the lands, Lord Alder has prohibited ventures here until a proper team can be formed.

Fairy Wilds: Across the river to the north there is a deep forest of bright colors and endless autumn leaves. It’s a deception. The resources and bright colors draw people in, but they don’t come out. Fairies are blamed for the countless disappearances, and a pact has been made with all surrounding settlements to avoid the Fairy Wilds.

RESOURCES

Apricorns are used to craft Poké Balls and lately the number of fruits has been dwindling. Poké balls are a hot item, so knights are encouraged to strengthen their teams, or push wild Pokémon back to their habitats instead of capturing any Pokémon they find.

While the Pokémon Clans tend to live off the land for its natural resources, Lumiose Village has established a large plot of farmland in order to feed its citizens. No longer needing to strictly hunt or gather like they used to, this has opened the door for arts and entertainment.

OTHER REGIONS

Travel between regions is largely unheard of. The seas are teeming with dangerous Pokemon, and only the foolish and brave set sail on the seas in general.

The concept of flying on Pokémon is relatively new as well. The pursuit of protection and safety outweighs the desire to explore, but that concept is slowly shifting with the change in knowledge and technology.
