THIEVES

THE FOXGLOVES

Leader: Midas Hawthorn

Fence: Morganite Hawthorn

Midas and Morganite, Master Thief and Fence, respectively. The two of them have spent much of their lives establishing a system to exert control on the wealthier members of society through blackmail, theft, conning, etc. They believe wealth deserves to be shared more evenly, or at least with those who weren’t lucky enough to be born into it. Their group, The Foxgloves, seeks out promising little thieves and brings them into the guild to be a part of something bigger than themselves.

The twins own a candy shop called “The Gobblin’ Goblins” in Lumiose Village which acts as a front for the guild. Back behind the counters and hidden in a store room is an entrance to the tunnels below Lumiose Village. The tunnels are maintained by the twins’ Sableye and Midas’s Krookodile. The pathways underground shift and change to prevent the hideout from being found, but the bunker itself is largely in the same position.

Here the twins hire folks for jobs to steal gold, materials, jewelry, and any other fineries and riches that come from the advancement of the town. In return Morganite offers sale on rare or even illegal items.

The Foxgloves are into wealth and riches. They will not tolerate nor condone murder. They feel it is too extreme, and puts a target on the guild’s back. Midas will throw anyone under the bus if he finds out. Which could result in prison time, purging knowledge of the thieves guild through psychic influence, and/or flat out theft of your own belongings.

Midas and Morganite suspect Lord Montgomery knows of the presence of the Foxgloves and even the tunnels underneath the village. However as long as their presence doesn’t totally disrupt the goings on of the village, they are actually a beneficial buffer against subterranean Pokémon.

Aside from disagreeing with the village and Pokémon clans over the concept of money and wealth they do agree that ventures into the Demon Lands and Fairy Wilds are not worth the risk.

Possible Roles:
bounty hunters, burglars, con-artists, pickpockets, enforcers/thugs, racketeers, spies, smugglers.

THE CHURCH OF BALANCE

Founders: Sister Cecily, Sister Evelyn, Sister Irina

Leader: N/A

The Church was established even before the village was, and has withstood the brutality of nature all these years. Three sisters sought to make a change in how the world was viewed, and established a church around a young tree on a hill. It started as wooden benches in front of this young plant, but grew to be sturdy stone walls, stained glass windows, and a towering oak that provides for the community.

Sisters Cecily, Evelyn, and Irina worshiped the gods in balance, and that strengthened their bonds. They taught about the rites of Yveltal, Xerneas, and Zygarde, and the blessings they shared, offering comfort to those who needed it. The Church of Balance has been used to bring people together, but since the deaths of the three sisters, some say the church is losing its “balance.”

Xerneas

The life bringer.
Sister Evelyn taught that Xerneas could provide health, vitality, and warmth. It was the spark of life, the will to fight through hardships, a symbol of hope. Most pray to Xerneas for healing, and consider the Pokemon to be benevolent. However a cult has split off from the church believing Xerneas’ gift of life has been stolen and wrongfully given to humans. They preach about the return of the world to nature.

Yveltal

The ending.
Sister Cecily taught that Yveltal was a deity of destruction, endings, and death, but that isn’t a bad thing. Stories, meals, night, and day… all these things come to an end, but that doesn’t mean they are bad. They make way for new things, new beginnings. Yveltal is prayed to, to offer comfort, restful sleep, and peace in death. It is believed Yvetal doesn’t usher in destruction, but safeguards people from it, and if someone perishes, then it was to spare them from pain. Many cults have broken off to worship the legendary as a divine judge. It smites those it deems unworthy, or ushers in death simply to satisfy its hunger. Sister Cecily strongly despised these takes, however.

Zygarde

The harmonic one.
Sister Irina taught of Zygarde and its power over harmony, balance, and order. It represents perfect cycles, and the natural order of life, death, and nature. Many pray to the dragon of order to encourage healthy growth, bountiful crops, and recently for the strength of their pokemon in hopes they evolve. Zygarde’s popularity has recently fallen in favor of the finite gods of Life and Death, especially with the death of Sister Irina.

Presently...

With no real leaders of the church any longer priests and clerics have had to share the responsibility of keeping the church going without its founders. The priests of each legendary have had some arguments and disagreements about how the church should be run, but it still provides for the community despite the rise in infighting.

Other Gods
While there is worship of other Legendary Pokemon as deities, their worship and legends are significantly reduced in Armonia. Not many tales come through of Mew, or Lugia, but there are some myths that trickle in. While their myths and worship aren't unheard of in Armonia, there aren't any large churches or bodies of worship dedicated to them
