Sealestials are an open species created by gutter. Named for seals and stars, Sealestials take heavy inspiration from myths surrounding selkies. Anyone is free to make their own!
What is an open species?
An open species is, simply put, a type of character that anyone can make. Unlike a closed species, you don't need a MYO, ticket, or any other kind of permission to make a character within the species. The only requirement (other than following the TOS) is that the design have the traits required to be considered a Sealestial. Other than that, the possibilities are endless!
Do I submit my design anywhere?
Nope! So long as you're happy with the design, it's a Sealestial. As such, however, there's no masterlist. This is why we request people tag their Sealestials as such -- so we can see what designs people come up with! (You're also encouraged to add your character to the world if you so wish.)
Is there a rarity system?
Nope!
Is there a Discord?
Nope! There are no plans for one at this time.
Where do Sealestials usually live?
Much like a seal lives in the sea, a Sealestial lives in space! Similarly, planets are like beaches to them; like rocks in the sea, they have little landing spots on moons and asteroids where they rest. Of course, this isn't accounting for where they might follow someone who has their coat...
Can I make a Sealestial crossbreed?
So long as the owner of the other species is okay with it, yes! There's no need to check in with us for additional approval.
Can I sell my Sealestial?
Check the TOS for more details, but in short, yes!
