TIBUMERU - A SEMI-CLOSED SPECIES

Tibumeru are a semi-closed species founded and owned by NotDamien. We are also an art & roleplaying group centered around the species!

We are always open to new members - you can either join by purchasing a Tibumeru, or you can create a common MYO Tibumeru for free! All MYOs must be approved before they're officially considered Tibumeru. You can find our applications here!

Rarer Tibumeru can be acquired through events, adopt sales or customs from our official designers. Tibumeru will level up over time and with activity, allowing access to rarer traits - you can also get instant access to these traits through R and SR MYO slots!

Our group is open to everyone - no artistic ability required. You don't have to draw or roleplay if you don't want to, and there are no punishments for inactivity.

GENERAL TIBUMERU TRAITS

  • Tibumeru are an aquatic humanoid (fish person) species! All Tibumeru have fishy traits, real or fantasy.
  • Tibumeru's insides are commonly a dark pink, any other color would be considered an uncommon trait.
  • Unlike humans, they normally bleed a lavender color, other colors are possible, such as squid might bleed black ink, but these are uncommon to rare. Red blood and organs would be considered ultra rare. Their blood is acidic and begins to burn if left on the skin too long for both humans and Tibumeru
  • Gills are a must, and can be placed anywhere on the body, there is no rareness to this trait
  • All Tibumeru have shark teeth, but vampire fangs and multiple rows of teeth would be considered a rare trait! Dulled teeth are allowed, but it’s assumed the Tibu is filing their teeth!
  • Tibumeru smell of fish, and the amount that they smell is entirely based on their diet and habitat. A tibumeru that wants to live a human lifestyle will struggle more with the smell of decaying fish!
  • Skin discoloration is extremely common amongst tibu, and having less/no skin discoloration is considered rare along with scales.
  • If Tibumeru stay out of water for long enough, they begin to decay and “flowers” take root, which are actually a parasitic lifeform taking over the Tibumeru’s body. The longer this goes untreated, the more the flowers will grow. This can lead to the Tibumeru becoming a zombie
  • Tibumeru can survive with wounds, missing pieces, exposed wounds and organs, and even types of parasites that would kill their real fish counterparts.

When in doubt for how rare your Tibumeru’s traits are, feel free to @admins on our Discord!

THE WORLD

Tibumeru exist in their own world. They do not co-exist with other species unless you make an AU (alternate universe) for them. The world takes place in a post-apocalyptic environment. It’s modern day and follows the current year, but technology and architecture isn't as advanced as our world. The land has been devastated several times over due to persistent natural disasters, forcing people to rebuild from scratch. The ocean is much more vast in this world, while the land is just one mass - Pangaea.

HISTORY

The world is plagued with unrest & war, all in the name of survival. Tibumeru generally did not seem to possess human intelligence, at least, in the beginning. Any with any kind of common sense kept to themselves to avoid trouble, however, it wasn't long before this unspoken rule was broken.

Factions formed. Once there was just the Rebels, a team led by Ray, but he was just a dumb teenager at the time, who thought the best way to go through life was to take everything over, in his eyes, Tibumeru were above humans. One of his subordinates was Janik, an older Tibumeru that he didn't get along with particularly well. Especially once she left the Rebels and formed her own team, the Seafarers to stop all of the, in her eyes, senseless fighting. It caused a huge rift to form between them that stayed in place for a long time.

Eventually Ray and Janik were able to grow beyond their past and reach an agreement. As long as the Rebels kept any illegal activities from effecting the local townspeople, Janik would not bother him about what they were up to, and in turn, Ray and the Rebels would support Janik and the Seafarers in any major issues effecting their safety. After that, things seemed to become entirely peaceful for a number of years.

During all the time that the Rebels and Seafarers were growing and changing, there was another man, Aime, working diligently to make the world a better place. Aime had formed an organization known as The Liberation Front in order to save Tibumeru who had spent their lives being experimented on and used by humans. Laboratories were commonplace. The quickest way to tell if a Tibumeru had been a victim was by scarring & missing limbs-- or, if they were lucky, a collar with a tracker inside. They have yet to find a way to safely remove them. It was nothing short of amazing, the work he'd done, and when he found that there were other "organizations" like his, he intended to join forces with them, for the better of all.

He was the one that approached Ray and Janik first, hoping to start decent partnerships, but was rudely turned away by both of them at first. Since then, only a few months have passed, and his relationship with Janik has improved, but not much has changed with Ray, only time will tell what might come next, but if things dont change soon, everyone might be in danger. . .

TRAITS

COMMON TRAITS

available for everyone.

Tails

Common tails can vary in shape, but keep the same “shark” length. Fins can be whatever as long as they exist on a fish. (Semi-transparency is an uncommon trait & is only available in the fins. Transparency in the body of the tail is rare.) Colors & patterns have no rarity and are unique to their Tibu. Flat colors tend to be more common, occasionally appearing more than once.

Ear Fins

unknown.png

Standard ear fins.

unknown.png

Elf-like.

unknown.png

Feather-like.

The first type is the most common, but elf-like & feather-like are not uncommon. You can play around with position and size, within reason.

Extra Traits

unknown.png

Simple horns.

unknown.png

Minor decay.

unknown.png

Extra fins.

One set of simple horns.

Visible decay from being out of water for too long. Manifests as a single parasitic flower type growing on the body.

Extra fins can go just about anywhere. If they go on the back, they may not be shaped like wings as that’s a super rare trait.

RARE TRAITS

obtainable through activity, adopts, events or MYO slots.

Rare traits are exclusive to active members and purchased Tibumeru. Some may be allowed one or two by pre-approval. Unlisted Rare Traits can come up in auctions.

You can unlock extra limbs to go on the back of your character. You get more creative freedom with the design of your fish parts, where they don’t appear “natural”; Small or very very long tails, etc. Your Tibumeru can have transparent skin & exposed bone. You can also come up with your very own traits if you check with us - these examples are all unique traits. Note that rare traits still have to be recognizably aquatic.

Tentacles.

unknown.png

Crab legs.

unknown.png

Transparency.

unknown.png

Scales.

unknown.png

Wing fins & armor.

unknown.png

Multiple eyes.

Tentacles, Crab legs, Crustacean claws, extra body parts.

Special Abilities.

Transparency, anywhere on the body.

Severe Decay (Exposed bone), Multiple breeds of flowers on one host.

Scaled/Armored Tibu (Turtle shells, snake scales, etc.)

Bright natural glow, but only on the inside. Bleeds like a glow stick.

"Wing" fins. Large types. Often mimicking the appearance of feathers or scales.

Multiple Eyes (anywhere on body)

Varied Tail Length: Super Small (less than arm length), Super Long. (Twice body size). No fish tail, but tentacles or a fin instead.

SUPER RARE TRAITS

obtainable through adopts, events or MYO slots.

unknown.png

Exposed bone.

unknown.png

Visible organs & flesh.

SR is where you can start to bend the natural laws of the species where they might not exactly appear to be aquatic, even if they are. SR slots cannot be used to break the world's rules, such as adding actual magic. Decay up to ROT where the Tibu may be missing entire limbs (tails) or have exposed internals is now accessible. They can have a more zombie-like appearance.

"FORBIDDEN" TRAITS

obtainable through adopts or events.

unknown.png

Extra large wings.

unknown.png

Fur.

unknown.png

Biolumination manipulation.

These “Forbidden” Traits can only be obtained via Events & Adoptions. Long Fur/Furry Ear is a trait specific to NotDamien’s Designs, but can be obtained in rare events. Extra large wings, Fur, Red Blood/Organs, Multiple Sets of Wing Fins, Biolumination Manipulation, and more are “forbidden”.

We allow a ton of creative freedom & strongly encourage it. Colors, patterns, eyes and hair have no rarity & you can do as you please. When you create your Tibumeru, you can still edit it at any time. You can change it entirely as long as you get it approved. You can also have them “mutate”, such as grow wing fins when you unlock them. However, if your character looks too similar to Rare+ Traits before you unlocked them, you will be asked to change it. Same case if your character looks too similar to another one, especially when it comes to unique traits. (Such as copying someone else’s wings or tail entirely.)
