Hi animals! Like last July, Animal Academy will be on break for the month. And like many who are excited for Artfight, this is good news.
What does this mean? You can still Roleplay on the forums this July, however please expect there to be a slow down on activity, or none at all depending if most of our members are choosing to participate this year. Artfight is a yearly event which only happens every July, so people will likely devote their free time to that next month! Learn more about Artfight here. Last year we actually locked all the sub threads, this year is different and still gives members that option to Roleplay if they are able to find a partner to do so. But again, don’t expect there to be many people who may want to engage in Roleplay during that month!
An additional word from our founder: I will be moving in July! I will not be present for maybe a short while, (you’ll know when) it tends to be extremely draining. I’m also an active participant in Artfight and have been going strong for about three years now! It saddens me that I probably won’t be able to engage that much due to the move, but hope everyone has fun! More later when July comes!
The camping thread unlocks TODAY at 5:00 pm, PT! Please ignore the date on the poster (hehe). We hope you like this interactive feature and more to come as we plan future events. Expect much, much more as we get into it, folks! I also made the site green (HAHA), 😊 expect me to continue doing that as special events or seasons (maybe) play out.
And please remember: you can only bring ONE character to this event!

I apologize for being gone, gone for the majority of the spring semester, issues, yes issues, come up, arise, and transpire.
As a staff member, member, and chief assistant to Mr. Wilmer, it was irresponsible, irresponsible for me to be away for so long. Fret not, as much of the paperwork, paperwork was done over digital and homebound. The wonders, wonders of computers never cease!
Yes, yes, I have heard the rumors of my absence, I've had my ear, ear to the door. I will only respond to them with a reminder to the larger bodied species in the university, Please remember, remember your own strength and that smaller mammal species and birds have thinner, more easy to shatter bones. Throwing people, even consensual throwing, is explicity frowned upon, upon.
P.S. I have found, found myself with an oddly, oddly lucrative minecraft streaming career in the meantime.

Welcome to Animal Academy, we hope you become a familiar face!
With new faces & common questions, this quick go-to bulletin is useful for new members just starting out! This is helpful to existing ones as well. While our rules, faq, rp guidelines cover just about everything, this bulletin clarifies that and more.
- We love hearing from you! The community is great way to make new friends. Share your characters & art with us, say hello and jump in anytime.
- Please consider ending your own rp posts, as staff will automatically have to after that time period. To learn more, see our roleplay guide.
- Don't forget to enable the
IC option when replying to rp posts! This helps members (with a easy, simple click) view your character's bio and allows us to know what character you are using. The forums are great, take advantage of this amazing feature.
- You do not need to post in our apply thread if you are already a member to add another character to the world. Just link us your character's toyhouse in the server and the staff will directly send an invite!
- Roommates are completely optional and entirely up to you whether or not you find someone suitable, this includes how you vision the layout of your dorm.
- Codes are not required, you do not need a fancy bio or have to use our private codes to be included! However be aware many of our members use them.
- You do not need to have a specific major. Instead, decide what classes your character you feel would attend by taking a look at our Class thread.
- You do not need to post only AA characters in #art! We love seeing the work of our talented members, consider also paying a compliment to the person above you if you haven't already. Its nice & respectful, pay it forward!
- We have no restrictions on your characters, but we appreciate you capture a sense of realism/naturalism.
- This isn't Beastars! Carnivores and herbivories, omnivores all live in society peacefully. To learn more about our headworld, find our History thread.
- You will be kicked from our server if it takes you months to create a character. Typing an introduction is one thing, but actually having a character makes a difference. We require you post a link to them in the intro, avoid attaching images or else your intro will be removed.
- Once you list a character up for sale, it is removed from our World.

Our next event is COMING SOON! This one will be slightly different everybody, (PS.. ILL BE COMING!) I cannot wait to take pictures! But besides my participation, ahem - this event you will only be able to select one character to join in on. Mark your calendars! Get ready cause tommorow is my first class! I cant wait to meet all of you and see what those minds can come up with. Prepare to write a small story. I highly encourage self expression in my classroom so feel free to dress in whatever you want or bring blankets, snacks or whatever you like! If you have a talent bring it I want to see it!

Fine art class has started, come feel free to bring your brushes. :-) I am looking forward to seeing your submissions, we are doing something new today and continuing with interactive assignments. Please read the disclaimer in my post to see if you are able to participate. You can join so as long as I haven't reviewed anyone's pieces yet, which will be in few days likely. It will be a bigger post instead of little by little.

First off I want to say thank you to the many members of our community that have been incredibly welcoming, friendly, and overall supportive of one another. Thank YOU for your participation and for providing the safe place that AA is! Time to look back and see how far we've come...

When I created this project, I had no idea people would be this involved and engaged with the project itself, it was initially for me and my friends to make characters, but that all grew into something much bigger. AA was originally a concept back in October 20th, 2019. It is was also the year that had a large impact on my well-being, and I needed some kind of escape. Something to distract and busy myself with. Animal Academy has blossomed into an outstanding community, we've had no issues with one another and continue to shine! I think we deserve some kind of positivity award if you ask me... here's to the many more years yet to come! 🍻
A personal thank you & goodbye message
This bullentin is going to be quite long, so a spoiler is necessary! Thank you to those who have encouraged and inspired me, I've diligently worked on the worlds atmosphere, codes, pages, structure, etc to ensure a very polished layout for all of you to enjoy. I put a lot of time and money into it! There is nothing I enjoy more than outdoing myself and making the people around me happy, comfortable and inspired. Unfortunately, for the time being - I am in no position to provide that, I will be on hiatus. That being said I will be focusing on my first semester and as many as you know I am a workaholic, I want little to no distractions. I'll still post art on twitter occasionally, because that helps me in a therapeutic way, but please expect messages to be on pause (indefinitely on discord until further notice of my return). So if you have any questions try asking someone in server! Kindly ignore the changes or differences of our codes if you happen to notice them, there are still things I need to update and sometimes it results to me starting over! As you may have noticed, codes can break very easily! I plan to have this fixed soon, many thanks! 💪
There is no 'someone in charge' while I am away temporarily, you all will work together as a group! I trust the community I've built to ensure a fun & safe environment for everyone involved. 🐶 If there is anything you want/need to say to me, I encourage you reply to this bullentin. I will read/answer when I feel ready to return!
Event reveal
What more exciting than a masquerade ball?! It's been two months since our last event, and I wanted to plan something special while I am away for all of you to enjoy 😉 This thread officially opens on February 15th through March 1st. Because I will be unavailable for majority of this month, I have unlocked the thread now.
