🔸 Darthos

DARTHOS

About

Darthos are creatures that have inhabited the earth's face for as long as the universe can remember. Their duty, hidden behind their wild nature, is to hunt down the dark energies that begin to take root in the environment that surrounds not only them, but a large number of species on Goahiri. Sometimes, however, they are also in charge of hunting down light energies, in order to maintain a balance between both forces.

Endowed with enormous strength and an intimidating appearance, Darthos are characterized by both being nomadic and sedentary, depending on the energy needs of the sites they choose to protect. However, far from being guardians, Darthos are natural predators, so they not only hunt energy, but also bodies that may be overstoring it.

Darthos, depending on the territory they inhabit, may have characteristics that affect not only their behavior but also their physical appearance, being the following: Natural Darthos (Any bioma/Forest), Nautical Darthos (Aquatic), Erial Darthos (Steppe) and Alpine Darthos (Tundra).

Basic

🔸 World(s): Stalker, Baldor, Ghalos, Caecius, Bi'Ná & Autros (They don't have a main planet)
🔸 Life Span: Undefined, but mortals
🔸 Physiognomy: Adaptable
🔸 Height: Variable, they can get really small or even colossal
🔸 Diet: Energetics and sometimes carnivores
🔸 Transcendence: Yes

Transcendence means what happens after any species of Goahiri dies on the mortal plane. In the case of Kogis, they have a positive transcendence, which means that once they die they can reincarnate or directly return their energy to their planet.

Lore

Darthos are creatures born from the dichotomy between light and dark since the beginning of the universe. They were, above all, a spontaneous response to the struggle for who prevailed in the beginning of space and time, and those who naturally took charge of balancing the competition until it was harmonized. Being made up of both energies, from time to time they need to replenish them to keep their spirit as an earthly body healthy, the reason for the latter being what explains, in turn, why they are carnivores too (In other words, to supply earthly energy to their bodies).

Created by the supreme principle of everything that exists, Darthos live both alone and in groups depending on their characters and also the biome they inhabit. Some members of this species are unable to share territory with others either due to their personality, their geographical nature, or rightly, due to their own energy. They are extremely sensitive creatures to the perception of energies, and this is due to their powerful olfactory capacity. A Darthos can have light or dark energy priority, and depending on this is the energy it hunts. To balance one, the other is necessary, and so on until balance is maintained. Otherwise, Darthos can be corrupted in the light or the dark in the same way, and in doing so, they lose their ability to absorb and consume energy, since they rightly represent prey when they are unbalanced.

In their completely wild and competitive society, the Darthos hunt each other when there is an imbalance of energies or straight to prevail in a territory, or defend themselves. The most common reason however, is always the first. When a Darthos is unbalanced and therefore unstable, it can cause even more damage than a balanced Darthos, and by nature they know that they must "get rid" of those who can be harmful not only to them (although by their way of thinking, they tend to be individualists), but for the rest of the species that coexist with them. A corrupted Darthos can spread its corruption among other Darthos and generate pandemic effects on the species, which directly affects the balance of the planet they inhabit, and on a large scale, of the same universe. Darthos corrupted while they have conscience offer themselves in sacrifice for other Darthos, however, the gap that separates their conscience from madness is so deteriorating that they are usually hunted before they are found willing to surrender.

A Darthos can live as long as his injuries allow, or the rest of the Darthos strategically determine. There are arcane Darthos that have lived since the beginning of time cultivating the wisdom of the species and their own energy, and others that die a few days after being born for social reasons. Darthos are oviparous, however, they have no rules when it comes to spawning them. Some Darthos lay eggs with a partner to eat them; others reproduce in systems where the “alpha” seed predominates by living in established communities; and others, rightly, form healthy family nuclei, which, unfortunately, are really few. Of the latter, it is normal that there is an abandonment of the eggs or young at birth, and cases in which a young Darthos lives with its parents until it has the capacity to survive on its own are rare.

B I O M E S

As mentioned above, Darthos can live in different types of biomes, which vary in size depending on the world they inhabit. Able to adapt, this species can manage its physical appearance to conform to a specific ecosystem, and that is where its differences, both physical and character, are born. Darthos can be natural, who live in any type of biome and ideally in the forested type; nautical, adapted to living in and out of the water but with a prevalence in this last element; erial, in valleys and plains of different heights; and, finally, the alpine, who prefer mountains, rocky areas and also caves.

🔸 NATURAL: They do not present a marked tendency towards any predominant type, characterized by being the most adaptable and neutral in behavior. They are the most numerous and tend to live as nomads, except for those who have a predilection for inhabiting forests.

🔸 NAUTICAL: More aggressive and lonely by nature, they roam the oceans, lakes and rivers of the universe looking for something to anchor their teeth constantly. They can live outside as in water, but because of their body type, they prefer to stay hydrated constantly. Their distant descendants are sharks and other marine predators.

🔸 ERIAL: His attitude is more traditional and ritualistic. They tend to form large communities where the strongest one known as "alpha" predominates, existing numerous amounts of herds throughout the universe. They are neither territorial nor aggressive unless a member of their community is violated. Their distant descendants are wolves.

🔸 ALPINE: Their noblest and wisest behavior make them by far the closest to the beasts that would be born from them in other parts of the world, known as "dragons." They can live alone or in communities, nomadic or sedentary, they have no greater preference than to explore their role in the universe in the most sensible way possible.

Anatomy & Traits

Darthos are beings that, being originally from the beginning of the universe, possess characteristics that for humans are more identifiable as a sum of animals existing on Earth, without being aware that Darthos are really the ancestors of these species. With a large and strong body like that of a dragon, the complexion, fur and smell of a wolf and the head like teeth of a shark, among other minor species, Darthos are the universal ancestors of what for us as humans they are part. of our wildlife.

Characteristically massive and of varying sizes that depend on the amount of energy they have consumed throughout their lives, Darthos have, in addition to the aforementioned characteristics, large claws that arise higher than the back of the hand and end in a bump similar to a wolf's nails. Regarding the anatomy of their palm, despite the claws, most Darthos have pads on their legs in order to cushion their own weight.

Its long neck is complemented by an equally elongated body, which, added to its tail, makes it truly colossal creatures in proportions. Due to the shape of their body, they tend to walk with their head at the same height as their shoulders and rarely raise it beyond this horizon, since the position of the head and tail allows them to maintain balance. When hunting, however, they often lower their heads and lift their tails.

T Y P E S

As you may have read up to this point, Darthos have the ability to adapt to their environment in very efficient ways, and this means that depending on the biome they live in, they have certain characteristics or not. But like all species, there is a "normality" of characteristics of the species, which we will announce below:

◻️ They have an elongated and semi-triangular head.
◻️ They have a long row of sharp teeth, ideal for tearing.
◻️ They may have ears.
◻️ They may have horns.
◻️ They have an elongated neck.
◻️ They have an elongated body.
◻️ They have a long tail.
◻️ They have fur.
◻️ They have non-retractable claws and pads.

[*] These options are typical of Natural Darthos or standard by type, remember! Now, depending on the biome, their characteristics vary, and below we will give you a written idea of what they can possess. However, you have to be clear that there is great freedom when it comes to adapting a Darthos, and therefore, they can have any characteristic that, if properly explained, will be approved in a design.

NAUTICAL DARTHOS
◻️ They have a double or even triple row of teeth.
◻️ They rarely have ears.
◻️ They rarely have horns.
◻️ They have guts.
◻️ They may have fins on the body, but it is not essential.
◻️ They have membrane between the claws of their legs.
◻️ They have no fur, only scales.
◻️ They do not have pads.

ERIAL DARTHOS
◻️ They have a single row of teeth, and they have molars.
◻️ They have short / medium ears, not long.
◻️ They rarely have horns.
◻️ They can have medium or short tails. (What does not except the long ones)
◻️ They have VERY thick fur.
◻️ They have shorter claws and wider legs.
◻️ They have pads.

ALPINE DARTHOS
◻️ They have a row of teeth that can protrude from the jaw.
◻️ They have long ears.
◻️ They rarely have no horns.
◻️ They may have different types of wings, but it is not essential.
◻️ They can have an even longer body, but at the cost of shorter legs.
◻️ They can have membranes in the claws of their feet and in other sectors.
◻️ They can have fur, scales, or a mixture of both.
◻️ They usually have large claws.
◻️ They can have as no pads.

However, not everything ends there.

K E L T H E R - D A R T H O S

There is a subtype typical of the most extreme biomes, where the adaptability of Darthos is put to the limit. This subtype is called Kelther, and they are extreme cases where a Darthos adapts so much to its hostile environment, that it acquires unique abilities, unrepeatable appearances and a characteristic cannibal thirst. Darthos Kelther have no restriction on traits, and the weirder they are, the more appropriate to their definition they will be.

Function

Relationships with Goahirians Species

Each species within Goahiri has its own way of developing both within its species and with the rest of those who coexist within the goahirian system. In this way, the establishment of close ties or enmities is closely related to the perception that each species has of the other, being susceptible to changes only with direct interactions between one species with another.
