🌱 This type of PC is open to create! They do not have to be earned
🌱 Generally speaking, when playing a PC, replace "Snakekey" and "keke" with "PC" where applicable. For example, one of the creation rules reads: A keke must be created at the hatchling phase. Since you're not using a keke, you'd read this as: A PC must be created in the hatchling (/puppy) phase. Granted, this won't work or make perfect sense with all rules, but it should be enough to get by
🌱 Shenbies are a Fluffy species [💟]
🍃 Shenbie eggs are called "silken nits" due to being covered in a fine, but sturdy silk
🍃 Nits are kept in nests of soft material, though some parents will have downy bags they can carry their babies on-the-go with them!
🍃 Babies have two conditions that must be fulfilled in order for them to hatch. Firstly, the surrounding temperature should be about 80F/30C degrees. Secondly, eggs must be placed on something soft, be it towels, blankets, a pillow, etc... They can tell when they're on a hard surface and associate this with it not being safe to come out!
🍃 Nits are not required for approvals! This is just info
🌿 Grub 🌿
🍃 Grub Shenbies have basic instincts when they hatch. They already know what is safe to nibble on, and what isn't. They also understand that anything that wants to nibble them is no-no.
Other then that, they know very little and always wriggle about in an effort to explore their surroundings
🍃 Shenbies are capable of levitation thanks to the magnetic field of their planet, but it is ill advised to leave grubs alone. They may not have full control over their levitation and may accidentally fall into dangerous situation!
🍃 Instead of blood, Shenbies have hemolymph. This is more akin to what you'd find in bugs than in vertebrates
🍃 Shenbies have fuzzy, pointed ears, a mane on the back of their neck, and long, furry noodle-bodies. They have a hard, heart-shaped mask on their face that opens up beneath into a small mouth with a rounded tongue (like a human's). Their arms are tipped with tree-toed paws that back pads
🍃 Like Snakekeys, the toes of Shenbies are mostly fused together. This makes them pretty useless for grabbing the way a human would
🍃 Shenbies scent the air much like a snake despite having a rounded tongue. This sees them with their little bleps out a lot!
🌿 Grub Creation 🌿
🍂 1: Lines > Draw the base for your new PC. Be sure to look at the anatomy examples here!
🍂 2: Base > Pick a base color. It can be any color as long as it's solid. Grubs don't have any markings yet with the exception of their optional tingeing. If used, this must be a lighter color than the base and the same color type as the base (eg yellow tingeing for a yellow base). It goes on the belly and/or arms. It may also color the insides of the ears. Note that because this must be lighter than the base, pure white grubs cannot have optional tingeing
🍂 3: Mask > Any solid color. This goes on the heart-shaped mask on the face
🍂 4: Eyes > Eyes can be any color, but only one. By default, Shenbies do not have visible pupils. Note that their eyes are quite shiny!
🍂 5: Hemolymph > Pick one solid color for the hemolymph (blood equivalent) and mouth to be. Cool colors (blue, green, purple...) will have chilled hemolymph, totally desaturated colors (pure black, white, grey) will have neutral hemolymph, and warm colors (red, yellow, orange...) will have heated hemolymph

🌿 Pupa 🌿
🍃 At the pupa phase, Shenbies are much more capable to fend for themselves. They'll start coming into their personality, discovering what hobbies they like, and so on
🍃 Pupas have full control over their levitation, thankfully. However, they begin to grow a set of mandibles that protrude from their mask area and need to learn to work with these...
🍃 Due to their new mandibles, pupa Shenbies have a great fondness for chewing on everything... Watch out
🌿 Pupa Creation 🌿
🍂1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your PC. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples shown here!
🍂 2: Base > Shenbies get their bases as grubs - this step is done and you can move on! Note that the mandibles may be any 1 color
🍂 3: Color method > Choose a coloring method. Note that markings only go on the base, not the mask!

🌻Method B: 0-1 color used to add spots or blotches to the design
🍂 4: Design > Design your PC with the colors you've chosen! Shenbie markings don't have size restrictions, but they cannot be gradiented. Note that, if desired, you Shenbie can grow out of their optional color tingeing, but they may also keep it through all phases of their life!

🍃 Drones are fully able to care for themselves... if their moodswings don't get in the way. Its not super bad, but it's not uncommon for drones to want a bit of alone time
🍃 Their levitation abilities have a tendency to freak out a little, as if they're grubs all over again. This could even cause a Drone to flop to the ground! Thankfully, their fur cushions most of the fall
🍃 At least the odd need to chew in everything is gone?
🍃 As they age, a Shenbie's mandibles will get longer... provided they don't become brittle and snap off...! They have a chance to regrow, but might also stay this way for life

Note that a drone will always have to have a minimum of one of these and it can't just be removed after the approval process

💫1: > Bedhead - Youth
An enhanced version of head fluff that looks worse and is generally terrible. Grows on the top of the head and doesn't heed your mortal laws. Sticks up wherever it pleases and can't be tamed no matter how hard you try. Sometimes, this can form in small amounts on the chin or right above the mouth. Unlike regular head fluff, bedhead can go to the base of the neck at its maximum (excepting the bits on the muzzle, those stay short)
💫 2: > Broken mandibles - Shenbie only - Youth
The mandibles grow brittle, breaking or cracking. Note that this can be used to break mandibles completely off, but the stump should still be visible in this case! Does not change colors
💫 3: > Broken mask - Shenbie only - Youth
The facial mask suffers weakening that can make it break or crack. This can remove smallish chips from the mask, but shouldn't do huge chunks. Does not change colors
💫 1: > Chubby - Youth
Maybe one day, this'll convert into a fae morph's figure. Until then, you've got a bit of a belly going on. Note that this shouldn't be a dramatic change - just noticeable. Can be on the torso, naga tail, or both
💫 2: > Flightless - Shenbie only - Youth
Issues from pupahood return and the Shenbie struggles to levitate properly! Their abilities may go in and out without warning
💫 3: > Fluff shed - Shenbie only - Youth
Some or all of the fluff falls off. Does not change colors
💫 1: > Growth spurt - Youth
Typically a sign of an oncoming reach morph. Allows a keke to be taller than average for their age. Nothing crazy, though!
💫 2: > Mandible overgrowth - Shenbie only - Youth
Thanks to some overproductive hormones, you grow a rather impressibe set of mandibles. Length should not be longer than shown in the example image (about a 8 inches of extra length). Does not change colors
💫 3: > Short stature - Youth
Your keke doesn't seem to have grown much...a common sign of an oncoming goblin morph. Allows them to be shorter than average for their age. Nothing crazy, though! This "upgrade" has a tendency to make them look a stage or two too young via underdeveloped face, body, etc
💫 1: > Squint eyes - Shenbie only - Youth
The eyes press either into very thin slits or fully closed
🍃 Royals are fully stable; no crazy floating shenanigans or chewing or moodswings. Finally, peace...!
🍃 However, royals aren't safe from upgrades! Nor their build, which will take some getting used to if they grow into something unlike their default anatomy. But this is generally considered not nearly as bad as dealing with being a drone... [Shudders]
🍃 An adult Shenbie's mandibles will have reached their full length where they can be used to assist the Shenbie with cutting up their food
🌿 Royal Creation 🌿
🍂 1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your PC, choosing their build in the process. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples for whichever one you end up picking!
🍂 2: Design > If desired, you can use the color chose for markings in the pupa phase and use it to give the Shenbie any design you like. There are no rules for this aside from gradients not being allowed. You may also add one more color to the design
