🌱 This type of PC must be obtained through an adventure, event, etc... They are not open to make unless you've earned one!
🌱 Generally speaking, when playing a PC, replace "Snakekey" and "keke" with "PC" where applicable. For example, one of the creation rules reads: A keke must be created at the hatchling phase. Since you're not using a keke, you'd read this as: A PC must be created in the hatchling (/puppy) phase. Granted, this won't work or make perfect sense with all rules, but it should be enough to get by
🌱 Shenbies are a Fluffy species [💟]
🍃 Merbie eggs are called "soapy nits" due to being suspended on a nest of colorful bubbles!
🍃 Nits are very slippery and difficult to get a hold on. Because of this, they're often left in a big collection in safe or guarded pools
🍃 Merbies need to be on a soft surface to hatch, but thankfully, parents don't have to worry about that! The bubbles the egg produces will do just fine. Just make sure it reaches 80F/30C degrees at some point!

🌿 Grub 🌿
🍃 Merbies have two sections on their bodies: one furred and one bare skin. The fur is waterproof and helps insulate them when they swim in cold water. The skin absorbs oxygen from the water, allowing them to breathe easy while they're down there
🍃 Grubs tend to be somewhat delicate with soft skin and tearable fluff, so they often stay together in "crashe pools" overseen by adults
🍃 They have a peculiar fondness for soap...
🍃 The tip of a Merbie's tail is forked like that of a fish. In addition, they have fin ears and a fin on each cheek
🌿 Grub Creation 🌿
🍂 1: Lines > Draw the base for your new PC. Be sure to look at the anatomy examples here!
🍂 2: Base > The skin half of the body may be any one pastel color while the furry part can be any one color. Grubs don't have any markings yet with the exception of their optional tingeing. If used, this must be a darker color than the base and the same color type as the base (eg yellow tingeing for a yellow base). It goes on the belly and/or arms on the skin half of the body.
🍂 3: Mask > Any solid color. This goes on the heart-shaped mask on the face
🍂 4: Eyes > Eyes can be any color, but only one. By default, Shenbies do not have visible pupils. Note that their eyes are quite shiny!
🍂 5: Hemolymph > Pick one solid color for the hemolymph (blood equivalent) and mouth to be. Merbies are always neutral hemolymph no matter what color you pick!

🌿 Pupa 🌿
🍃 Pupas grow a set of small mandibles on their face, which... kind of causes issues for a bit. While their skin is thickening, it's still quite soft! At this age, pupas tend to be moved out of crashe pools so they don't keep poking little holes in each other. Though this does help their skin toughen up, so will time, so dueling is unnecessary...
🍃 Kids of this age grow another set of fins, these ones on their elbows. This gives them a noticeable boost in speed, which they quite enjoy. Just, heaven's sake, be careful...!
🍃 The furless part of the body begins to secrete a soap-like solution that can smell like various pleasant things such as herbs or fruits. It is possible they played in soap so much that it rubbed off on them...?

🍂 2: Base > Shenbies get their bases as grubs - this step is done and you can move on! Note that the mandibles may be any 1 color
🍂 3: Design > Use 0-2 colors to add any design to your Merbie any way you like! Shenbie markings don't have size restrictions, but they cannot be gradiented or go on the mask. Note that, if desired, you Shenbie can grow out of their optional color tingeing, but they may also keep it through all phases of their life!

🍃 By the time Merbies are drones, their skin has finally (thankfully) thickened enough to not be of concern. However, they now have other issues... For one, they get quite adventurous and reckless now that they're safe(er) to do so. Be careful where you swim...!
🍃 The soap secretions that the skin makes seem to be going a bit haywire... There's way too much of the stuff! This makes drones very slippery. They have a tendency to slide all over the place whether they want to or not
🍃 When they're not crashing into things, drones will vent their excess energy by training on various tricks, though they're generally not able to pull them off 100% properly due to their youthly complications

🍂 3: Upgrades > Shenbie drones are required to have at least one of the upgrades listed below. They can either keep or remove them once they reach adulthood. Note that a drone will always have to have a minimum of one of these and it can't just be removed after the approval process

💫1: > Bedhead - Youth
An enhanced version of head fluff that looks worse and is generally terrible. Grows on the top of the head and doesn't heed your mortal laws. Sticks up wherever it pleases and can't be tamed no matter how hard you try. Sometimes, this can form in small amounts on the chin or right above the mouth. Unlike regular head fluff, bedhead can go to the base of the neck at its maximum (excepting the bits on the muzzle, those stay short)
💫 2: > Broken mandibles - Shenbie only - Youth
The mandibles grow brittle, breaking or cracking. Note that this can be used to break mandibles completely off, but the stump should still be visible in this case! Does not change colors
💫 3: > Broken mask - Shenbie only - Youth
The facial mask suffers weakening that can make it break or crack. This can remove smallish chips from the mask, but shouldn't do huge chunks. Does not change colors
💫 1: > Chubby - Youth
Maybe one day, this'll convert into a fae morph's figure. Until then, you've got a bit of a belly going on. Note that this shouldn't be a dramatic change - just noticeable. Can be on the torso, naga tail, or both
💫 2: > Drip wool - Subterfewege/Merbie only - Youth
The wool grows in a way the looks like goop, but isn't actually. Does not drip and isn't shiny
💫 3: > Growth spurt - Youth
Typically a sign of an oncoming reach morph. Allows a keke to be taller than average for their age. Nothing crazy, though!
💫 1: > Mandible overgrowth - Shenbie only - Youth
Thanks to some overproductive hormones, you grow a rather impressibe set of mandibles. Length should not be longer than shown in the example image (about a 8 inches of extra length). Does not change colors
💫 2: > Oily skin - Merbie only - Youth
That ain't right... A peculiar oily substance is being secreted by the skin instead of soap. This can be any color and level of transparency
💫 3: > Short stature - Youth
Your keke doesn't seem to have grown much...a common sign of an oncoming goblin morph. Allows them to be shorter than average for their age. Nothing crazy, though! This "upgrade" has a tendency to make them look a stage or two too young via underdeveloped face, body, etc
💫 1: > Tattered fins - Merbie only - Youth
Small holes or nibbles taken out of the fins. Cannot remove large pieces and does not change colors
🍃 Royals have become more used to their slippery skin and can now use their sliding abilities a lot more responsibly
🍃 Adults have a tendency to be kind and soft-spoken
🍃 Their bodies are now strong enough to allow them to do some pretty fancy water tricks!

🍂 1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your PC, choosing their build in the process. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples for whichever one you end up picking!
🍂 2: Design > If desired, you can use the color chose for markings in the pupa phase and use it to give the Shenbie any design you like. There are no rules for this aside from gradients not being allowed. You may also add one more color to the design
