🧚‍♀Fairy Pondskipper Creation

🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Regular MYO rules apply with the exception of the following:
🌱 Every user is allowed one of this subspecies for free!
🌱 After creating your free Skip, others must be earned through an event or something similar
🌱 Pondskippers have (almost) all their age phases crammed into one. Convenient! Once they're approved, you can draw them as hatchlings, young, youth, or adults. Elders will still require a separate app

🌿 Egg 🌿
A cream egg with pink scales on one side. The scales have small hooks on them

🍃 Pondskipper eggs are called 'floaty eggs' for their natural buoyancy
🍃 To keep them safe, Skips often keep all their eggs together, tangled in a net of water plants near the shore. The ridges on eggs aid in this, easily hooking onto foliage
🍃 Eggs still need to soak to hatch, so parents will frequently take pawfuls of water and 'bathe' the eggs until the babies inside are convinced the shell has softened
🍃 Tending for and bathing eggs is often a community effort. It's not uncommon for every Skip to take a turn at least once!
🍃 Eggs are not required for approvals! This is just info

🌿 Pondskippers 🌿
Image guide for the twelve Skipper colors

🍃 Pondskippers are incredibly diverse, supposedly to allow them to live in a myriad of different habitats. However, they can commonly be found schooling together in great colorful blobs anyway
🍃 Skips are speculated to be distant cousins of Elvers. Not only do they share similarities, but they tend to get along great, too!
🍃 Although it may not seem like it due to their tendency to flutter around, Skips are aquatic. They must spend at least some time underwater where they use their skin to absorb oxygen. They just so happen to have areas where they can store excess oxygen, allowing them to sort of "hold their breath" and venture onto land for several hours at a time
🍃 Skips look generally the same throughout their age phases, give or take some upgrades. To them, phases are mostly just a name to specify what age range somebody's in (as apposed to an indicator of design, morph, etc...)
🍃 Instead be being on their cheeks, Skips have a single large 'cheek pouch' on their chests. They also have a small head tuft (in most types) and long, fluffy ears (in most types (again))
🍃 Skippers are fairly small, being about a foot from head to tail on average when full grown

🌿 Skipper Creation 🌿
Three Pondskippers. A pink one in front jumps onto its paws. An orange smiles in the back and a blue lies on its belly

🍂 1: Lines/Base > Picking a Skip's base color is very important, as it dictates how they'll look! There are different morphologies for red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, pink, brown, white, grey, and black. Once you've decided what color you'd like, then you can draw the base for your new keke. Go HERE for full details on each type!
🍂 2: Accent > Any solid color. This goes on the belly pouch, paw pads, mouth/tongue, and blood
🍂 3: Eyes > Eyes can be any color, but only one. By default, Snakekeys do not have visible pupils
🍂 4: Design > If you want, you can add a design to your Skip now! If not, use the base swap upgrade later. You can use 0-1 color to make their markings - the color just has to be the same type of color as their base (ie purple markings for purple bases, etc) Markings generally need to cover a lot of area. This can mean they are large in size or are very long. Smaller markings are okay as long as they're connected to a bigger marking of the same color. Spots generally should be no smaller than the entire hand and thin markings no shorter than arm's length. Do not use gradients on designs
🍂 5: Description > You're ready to post your Snakekey! Please be sure to locate the form below, fill it out, and put it in the description
🍂 6: Submitting > Submit your finished MYO to the approval folder, which can be found here
