🔔 Shiny Creation

Jump to: Hatchling, Young, Youth, Adult

🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Regular MYO rules apply with the exception of the following:
🌱 Shinies used to be a limited subspecies, but are now free to create without having to earn them!

🌿 Egg 🌿

An egg that looks like a present wrapped in orange paper with fire decals. It appears to have a red ribbon and a bow. There's a marking that looks like a tag on top. It has writing we can't read and a little pink heart

🍃 Shiny eggs are called "cube eggs" due to their abnormal shape
🍃 For unclear reasons, these eggs are disguised as presents or neatly wrapped boxes
🍃 This subspecies is not meant to hatch in water! As a warning sign, their eggs jump when placed in liquid, sinking slightly and then floating quickly back up so that they bounce above the surface
🍃 In order to hatch, eggs should be placed next to a source of constant heat to coax the baby out
🍃 Eggs are not required for approvals! This is just info

🌿 Hatchling 🌿

A Shiny hatchling lying on their belly and smiling🍃 Hatchlings do not have any fins to help them swim, but they can still breathe underwater for a couple days after hatching just in case
🍃 Besides their large patches of gold or silver replacing the belly color, young Shinies are similar in appearance to regular Snakekeys. They're short and chubby with huge, fluffy manes and rounded teeth
🍃 Based on appearance, there is no clear way to tell if a Shiny is cold or warm-blooded. They do still have this feature, but belly colors do not seem to play a part in it
🍃 They have disks of silver or gold on their foreheads. Some babies have three, while others have only one
🍃 Tails are tipped with large bells. Shinies seem to be able to change the pitch of how these bells ring at will

🌿 Hatchling Creation 🌿

The image guide for designing Shiny hatchlings

🍂 1: Lines > Draw the base for your new Snakekey. Be sure to look at the anatomy examples here!
🍂 2: Base > Pick a base color. It can be any color as long as it's solid. Hatchlings don't have markings yet
🍂 3: Accent > Any solid color. This goes on the cheek pouches, paw pads, and blood
🍂 4: Belly scales > Goes on the belly scales, disk(s), bell, and mouth/tongue. Can either be silver or gold. There aren't any specific shades for these, just make sure it's recognizable as such! Plain sliver or gold, no other versions such as rose gold. There's an example below, but you're by no means required to use the exact shades shown there! A Shiny's belly color does not dictate whether it's cold or warm-blooded, that's up to you to chose
🍂 5: Eyes > Eyes can be any color, but only one. By default, Snakekeys do not have visible pupils
🍂 6: Description > You're ready to post your Snakekey! Please be sure to locate the form below, fill it out, and put it in the description
🍂 7: Submitting > Submit your finished MYO to the approval folder, which can be found here

🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Regular aging rules apply

🌿 Young 🌿

A young Shiny looking mischievous! They're missing some teeth. They have yellow, beige, and pink markings

🍃 Young Shinies begin to seek their artistic calling just like every other keke, but they're infamous for their grabby little paws. Many spend their time collecting and hoarding a specific item rather than doodling
🍃 Like regular Snakekey young, they may lose some teeth during this age phase as they grow sharper. It's rumored that the subspecies drops far more teeth than their cousins
🍃 Bigger than the hatchling phase as well as slightly less chubby and poofy

🌿 Young Creation 🌿
The image guide for designing young Shinies

🍂1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your keke. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples shown here
🍂 2: Base > Snakekeys get their bases as hatchlings - this step is done and you can move on!
🍂 3: Color method > Choose a coloring method. Keep in mind that "variations of your base color" must appear to be in the same hue as the base. This means you can move the color slider say, from light orange to dark orange, but do not touch the slider you would use to change orange to blue much!
🌼Method A: 0-3 variations of the base color
🌻Method B: 1 variation of the base color, 2 of any color you like! Note that this method requires the use of 3 colors total
🍂 4: Design > Design your Snakekey with the colors you've chosen!
🍂 5: Description > You're ready to post your Snakekey! Please be sure to locate the form below, fill it out, and put it in the description

🌿 Youth 🌿

A youth Shiny with their eyes closed, looking pleased about their upgrades: mismatched metal and glamorous hair. They're a little chubby below the waist

🍃 The worst thing Shinies have to worry about 'upgrading' is their metal which is very eager to spread. There's a limit on it, though, so it's no big deal. Except that one time where the girl turned solid gold-- But that was a fluke. Don't worry about it, you'll be fiiiine
🍃 Shinies usually end up looking like gosh darn models, which is just not fair to everybody else. At least they don't let it go to their heads.... Right...?

🌿 Youth Creation 🌿

🍂 1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your keke. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples shown here
🍂 2: Design > We've already done this and you're ready to go!
🍂 3: Upgrades > Keke youth are required to have at least one of the upgrades listed below. They can either keep or remove them once they reach adulthood. Once the approval's over, they have full access to these any time they wish (excepting on younger stages, of course). Note that a youth will always have to have a minimum of one of these and it can't just be removed after the approval process

Open spoiler to see youth upgrades!

A Shiny's tail clustered with small, extra bells at the endA black keke with white blotchesA purple keke showing chubbiness in the torso and naga tail

💫 1: > Bell cluster - Shiny only - Youth
Is one bell enough? No! You've grown some more. May grow a max of 6 additional bells. Must be smaller than the main bell and located on the tail tip. Should all be the belly color
💫 2: > Blotches - Youth
It looks like sores, but it's just little dots of the accent color appearing on the face. Scaled keke may try and pick off the affected scales, but this isn't a great idea, please don't pull scales out of things
💫 3: > Chubby - Youth
Maybe one day, this'll convert into a fae morph's figure. Until then, you've got a bit of a belly going on. Note that this shouldn't be a dramatic change - just noticeable. Can be on the torso, naga tail, or both

A brown Shiny with long, silky hair. Dramatic sparkles shine in the bg. They're missing their maneA green-grey Shiny with silver metal and golden accentsA tall grey keke looks down at a lighter keke of average height

💫 1: > Glamorous hair - Shiny/Superior: youth/adult. Everybody else: adult only
An enhanced version of head fluff that looks better in every way. Silky, shiny, and the perfect volume? Yep, all that. Unlike regular head fluff, it can go to the base of the neck at maximum. May cause the mane to spontaneously vanish, may not. Mane will reappear if upgrade is removed
💫 2: > Glimmering accents - Shiny only - Youth
The accent color (paws, cheek pouch, blood) becomes metal-like in appearance. This can be either gold or silver regardless of the Shiny's base belly color
💫 3: > Growth spurt - Youth
Typically a sign of an oncoming reach morph. Allows a keke to be taller than average for their age. Nothing crazy, though!

A black and grey shiny. Their metal golor is gold, but their belly scales feature swirls of silverA blue keke with some missing attached teethAn orange Shiny with their tongue sticking out. They have three metal plates on their head. The back two have grown into short, nubby horns

💫 1: > Mismatched metal - Shiny only - Youth
The opposite of the belly color (gold if silver and vice versa) forms large, swirling markings on the mouth, bell, disks, and belly scales
💫 2: > Missing teeth - Youth
The teeth attached to your face are falling out again.... Hopefully they all grow back
💫 3: > Shimmer horns - Shiny only - Youth
If the Shiny has 3 disks on its head, the back two can grow to form short, blunt horns. Note that this can't be applied if a Shiny only has 1 disk!

A short green keke looks uip nervously at a pink one of average height

💫 1: > Short stature - Youth
Your keke doesn't seem to have grown much...a common sign of an oncoming goblin morph. Allows them to be shorter than average for their age. Nothing crazy, though! This "upgrade" has a tendency to make them look a stage or two too young via underdeveloped face, body, etc

🌿 Adult 🌿

An adult Shiny, looking pleased and shrugging

🍃 They may have dropped their hoarding habit by now, but it's somewhat unlikely. They typically are too proud of their collection to abandon it. Statistically speaking, they have a higher chance of starting a second hoard than leaving their first
🍃  Most Snakekeys don't dare to hope for seeing as much precious metal as is in a Shiny's possession. Unfortunately, it isn't a resource that can be removed and used. It is part of them, after all!

🌿 Adult Creation 🌿
