🦎 Pterrur Creation

Jump to: Hatchling, Young, Youth, Adult

🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Regular MYO rules apply with the exception of the following:
🌱 This type of keke must be obtained through an event or something similar. They are not open to make unless you've earned one!

🌿 Egg 🌿

A pale cream, oblong egg held in place by lumps of jagged-looking rock

🍃 Pterrur eggs are called "fossil eggs" for their rocky shapes they grow on their shells, as if they're a partially uncovered fossil
🍃 Eggs form rock-like formations to disguise them amongst the cliffs as well as keep them from being a cylinder that easily rolls off edges
🍃 As they're kept in cliff-side nests, there's a 40% chance they'll be able to hatch without first soaking the egg in water
🍃 Eggs are not required for approvals! This is just info

🌿 Hatchling 🌿A tan Pterrur hatchling with dark brown membranes, black tingeing, and a lumpy head crest. Their eyes are close and they squawk happily

🍃 The name's pronounced "terror". The 'P' is silent!
🍃 These hatchlings are lanky little things. Despite still being short and chubby, their gangly, quad-jointed arms easily set them apart from most babies. In addition, they have a small head crest, which pushes their ears down
🍃 Pterrurs can take to the sky just a few minutes after hatching, as their wings are large enough to hold their weight
🍃 They have a baby fin, though it's much smaller. It serves as an aid for kiddos just learning to fly
🍃 Being more reptilian and dinosaur-y, they're always cold-blooded despite belly coloring
🍃 Pterrurs are a cousin of Plumies and the two certainly show similarities in behavior

🌿 Hatchling Creation 🌿

The image guide for making Pterrur hatchlings

🍂 1: Lines > Draw the base for your new Snakekey. Be sure to look at the anatomy examples here. Hatchlings have four head crest options - be sure to choose one shown in the visual guide on the right! >
🍂 2: Base > Pick a shade of brown for the base color. The membranes (wings and baby fin) can be a different brown, if you wish. Head crest can be any color. All colors must be solid
🍂 3: Accent > Any solid color. This goes on the cheek pouches, paw pads, and blood. Hatchlings have the option of having their baby fin be the accent color as well
🍂 4: Belly scales > Goes on the belly scales and mouth/tongue. Hatchlings may also have it on their baby fin. This can be any pure grey, white, or black (besides pitch black). "Pure" means it's not tinted any other color and is totally desaturated! Pterrurs are cold-blooded regardless of belly color. In addition, a hatchling's face, tail tip, and/or limbs can be tinged the belly color. This can carry as far as halfway up each area and is an optional feature.
🍂 5: Eyes > Eyes can be any color, but only one. By default, Snakekeys do not have visible pupils
🍂 6: Description > You're ready to post your Snakekey! Please be sure to locate the form below, fill it out, and put it in the description

🌿 Rules 🌿

🌱 Regular aging rules apply

🌿 Young 🌿

A young Pterrur with tan markings, looking pleased and cocky about their crest growth. They tuck their neck to better show it off

🍃 Young grow bigger than the hatchling phase with less baby fat and fuzz. The baby fin also drops and tingeing is grown out of
🍃 At this age, Pterrurs usually start to get pretty jealous of others that have developed their head crest colors. They wanna be fancy too! Young will often attempt to decorate their own crests and one-up each other
🍃 Pterrurs are just as art loving as other keke, though they tend to be a bit...cruder than others. The creative process often ends up with a huge mess in its wake

🌿 Young Creation 🌿The image guide for designing young Pterrurs

🍂1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your keke. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples shown here
🍂 2: Base > Snakekeys get their bases as hatchlings - this step is done and you can move on!
🍂 3: Design > Choose 0-3 browns to color your Pterrur with and then design your Snakekey with the colors you've chosen! Markings generally need to cover a lot of area. This can mean they are large in size or are very long. Smaller markings are okay as long as they're connected to a bigger marking of the same color. Spots generally should be no smaller than the entire hand and thin markings no shorter than arm's length (a typical keke's arm's length that is - Pterrurs have longer arms, but this doesn't expand the size that long markings need to be). Do not use gradients on designs

🌿 Youth 🌿

A youth Pterrur, simply delighted with their mountain crest. Their mouth is open and eyes closed in delight. They also have blotches and fin shreds

🍃 Youth is the long-awaited age where a Pterrur finally gets themselves a super sick crest! Unless you're one of the unlucky ones... Some never grow out of their lil hatchling crests. What a nightmare!
🍃 Pterrurs often headbutt things such as trees or rocks. This is usually due to an old kiths' tale that hitting the crest encourages bumps on it to grow in order to protect the head from damage
🍃 They may still suffer some youth phase upgrade weirdness, but who cares?! Head crests!!!
🍃 The face will have matured and the mane shrunk down even further to it's final length

🌿 Youth Creation 🌿

🍂 1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your keke. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples shown here
🍂 2: Design > We've already done this and you're ready to go!
🍂 3: Upgrades > Keke youth are required to have at least one of the upgrades listed below. They can either keep or remove them once they reach adulthood. Once the approval's over, they have full access to these any time they wish (excepting on younger stages, of course). Note that a youth will always have to have a minimum of one of these and it can't just be removed after the approval process

Upgrades: (List what the keke has applied, ignoring the youth ones)

Open spoiler to see youth upgrades!

A black keke with white blotchesA brown Pterrur with a long, rounded head crest like that of a parasaurolophus. It's teal, blue, and pink with black stripes and white starsA brown keke with white points

💫 1: > Blotches - Youth
It looks like sores, but it's just little dots of the accent color appearing on the face. Scaled keke may try and pick off the affected scales, but this isn't a great idea, please don't pull scales out of things
💫 2: > Boomnana crest - Pterrur only - Youth
A much larger (and more impressive!) version of one of the base hatchling crests. Can be any color with any design
💫 3: > Color points - Youth
A.k.a. the belly color tingeing that hatchlings have is either resurfacing or appearing for the first time on your Snakekey. Same rules apply: it can be on the face, arms, and tail, going a max of halfway up each. However, it can now be any color

Punkin with darkened backs under their eyesA dull brown Pterrur with a double-pronged head crest like a dilophosaurus. It's dark brown with tiger stripes that are red, blue, and yellowA tropically-colored keke with black fin shreds on their tail tip

💫 1: > Drowsiness - Youth
Bags under your eyes because no, mom, you weren't up late last night
💫 2: > Dual crest - Pterrur only - Youth
The crest splits into two, forming a pair of shorter, jagged crests (sometimes jokingly called eyebrows). Can be any color with any design
💫 3: > Fin shreds - Youth
Is your baby fin trying to grow back...?! How embarrassing... Small bits of fins on the end of a keke's tail. Must be the color the baby fin was originally.

A dark brown Pterrur with a very tall, thin crest with one backward branch like a nyctosaurus. It's white with teal tipsA tan Pterrur with a very lumpy crest atop their head. It's red with orange and yellow flame markings on itA grey-brown Pterrur with a large crest like that of a ceratopsian. It's black, fading to blue at the end. It has lumpy circle markings on it

💫 1: > Fork crest - Pterrur only - Youth
This crest is usually quite long. Made up of two, thin branches. Can be any color with any design
💫 2: > Mountain crest - Pterrur only - Youth
A tall, bumpy crest. Shape can vary, but generally needs to be made up of rounded peaks. Must have a minimum of 3 bumps Can be any color with any design
💫 3: > Plow crest - Pterrur only - Youth
A large, triceratops-like crest minus the spikes. Can be any color with any design

A brown Pterrur with a short, upward facing crest with a flat end like that of a tsintaosaurus

💫 1: > Tower crest - Pterrur only - Youth
A single branch with a flat top. Not very long, but very majestic. Can be any color with any design

🌿 Adult 🌿

An adult Pterrur with the saurling morph, making them very slight with twig-like arms

🍃 Pterrurs have their own set of unique adult morphs they can grow into: saur, saurus, and saurling
🍃 Once they reach the adult phase, Pterrurs will have reached their maximum length and appear fully matured
🍃 Similarly to Plumies, Pterrurs tend to be somewhat out of touch with society. They can get what they need in the wild, so why would they need a job??

🌿 Adult Creation 🌿

The three default Pterrur morphs: saur, saurus, and saurling

🍂 1: Lines > Start by drawing the base image for your keke, choosing their morph in the process. Be sure to follow the anatomy examples for whichever one you end up picking!
