Gameplay in Elysium is meant to be straightforward and casual.
The primary goal is to contribute creative works of your characters (drawing and/or writing), create stories with other members (roleplay) and participate in group run plots or fun community events.
You do not have to level your character(s) in Elysium, but you do level the aforementioned talents when participating in events or quests, and you'll be asked to meet a certain 'score' for your artwork or literature contributions. More details for this can be found on the Scoring System page.
Last but not least, there are a few things you need to keep track of in our group: your Mana, your Purchases, and Talents.
Trackables
Mana is Elysium's in-game currency. Members use mana to purchase items from the Arcanum. You can earn mana in several ways.
Purchases are, well, anything you've purchased from the Arcanum. You should also include tokens acquired from an event, etc, and specify where you got them from.
Talents are magical abilities that your character can learn. Every Talent has three levels for your character to acquire through contributing creative works.
Manuscript
Every member is expected to keep a visible manuscript tab on toyhou.se. The Manuscript will allow you to keep track of your mana, talents, and purchases all in one convenient place for both yourself and the staff.
Manuscripts should be set up in the following way:
Characters
- A link provided to all of your current characters in Elysium.
Mana
- Link all art/writing, events, and plots that have awarded you mana, noting the individual gains from each.
- List the overall total at the bottom.
Talents
- List every talent you've acquired, and which character it belongs to.
- Demonstrate the talents' level by linking your level-up pieces.
- Note character affinities.
