In a far away planet full of darkness, a lifeform was slowly multiplying and evolving. After years, these lifeforms evolved into a humanoid creature with weird “jars"’" - as they would name them - on their heads. While the lifeform was developing, its heat was so strong that it melted the sand around it, forming glass on its head. The glass then took different shapes until it became stable, now a part of the creature’s body. These new creatures lived in a land full of darkness and were practically blind. They didn’t know what to do, they were scared. Until one day, they attracted tiny creatures, as they call them now, “fireflies.” The tiny creatures were fascinating, but the lifeforms were also scared by this new discovery. It was the first thing they saw and the first time they saw light! They looked around, saw each other, and noticed the jars on their heads. One of the lifeforms, without a second thought, grabbed the fireflies that were closest to them and put them inside the jars of the lifeform next to them, sealing the jar with rocks they found on the ground. The others didn't know why it did that, but everyone eventually joined in. Most managed to have fireflies in their jars but some didn't. Now they were the light. That was the start.
The lifeforms started exploring their surroundings, not knowing danger. Those without light stayed close enough to those who had, those that got lost could never be found. Curiosity drove discovery. They didn't know what was around them, so they touched everything, they ate everything. Unfortunately, many died, but the few that survived found something that would change their lives forever.
A glowing flower.
This flower had a dim glow but was a huge discovery. The lifeforms found a field full of these glowing flowers after following the faint light of nearby flowers. The lifeforms were amazed! Some grabbed the flowers and put them inside their jars, while others ate them and found that the flowers were delicious! In that field of flowers, the creatures built the first “houses” and village. They began learning how to hunt, what to eat, and which animals were friendly. They grew in numbers, created more villages, and began calling themselves "Fosgailas" or "Fos" for short. The discovery of iron and other metals paved the way for more scientific research and discovery. The Fos became more intelligent, established culture, even created “machines” that would help them.
The modern day world has become technologically advanced. The Fos live in 8 regions and in peace, science becoming part of their everyday lives. Improvements in technology resulted in the creation of “day” and “night” - a “sun” and a “moon” - which were actually giant invisible domes projecting a sky. Glow was now part of everyone's lives. No one, even babies, would go outside without wearing something glowing. Most Fos would rather stay inside the 8 regions, the outside was big and unexplored. That didn’t stop some Fos though.
