About the group

Welcome to the Lyth & Mantoo group!

We're a species group that's been around since sometime in 2015! (We're old, we know aaa) It's been many years and most of us were much younger then, so we have to take extra time to clean up and sort things from our younger years, since many of us are busier now.

The Lythani species is mostly focused on fun and creativity of our designs! Mutations are unlimited, colors run wild, and smells are all around! We gained another species called Mantoo a while back as well, adding them into our world. Over time we'll be moving away from having set genes for them & adding hybrids, as we admins love having freedom with our designs!

Lythani
"..."

Lythani, commonly known as Lyth, are a very smell oriented species. They have scented saliva that is often used to claim ownership of personal things, such as their food, mate, and home. They’re a very lanky species that climbs easily and runs quickly. They have large chests which hold a large ribcage and set of lungs. Each of their front and back paws have five toes/fingers, which makes for easy grabbing. Lyth tend to average at 5ft to 6ft tall, while being around 5ft to 7ft long. They’re also all genetically bigender and are open to preferred genders. Their genetics allow them to breed with other Lyth regardless of preferred gender pronouns.

Lyth have very open genetic pool which allows for a lot of variation in appearances. This makes the species open to outside influences as well. They are also able to have wings, but depending on their anatomical structure, only some specific lyth can actually fly. Ex: Lyth with ear wings/butt wings cannot fly, as they’re unable to handle the weight. Lyth with larger pairs of wings proportional to their bodies can fly easily.

Mantoo
"..."

Mantoo are a large feline-based species. They primarily reside on their islands floating in the skies, but some venture out and find homes elsewhere. They all have magic that is influenced by the island they were born on. This magic fills the pouches in their arms and paw pads, they also have a squishy, jelly-like texture. They have powerful jaws and an even more powerful pair of front legs, despite their soft pads. They’re more muscle and are slower than most Lyth on land, but they’re quick in the air and can fly, even those without wings. Mantoo average from 6ft to 8ft tall, and range from 5ft to 9ft long. Mantoo are also primarily vegetarian and have different farms and crops on each island, but they can also turn to more omnivorous or carnivorous diets. During the winter or when a Mantoo is in a cold location for long periods of time, their coat becomes a white or pastel version of itself, giving them great camouflage. Mantoo have more of a binary gender breeding system, as Males and Females are the only ones that can have cubs together. Breeding Mantoo with Lyth is different, as the Lyth can assume whatever missing role is needed in a Mantoo/Lyth relationship to have pups.

Hybrids, Series, & Misc.
"..."

There are groups of lyth that are similarly themed, created by one admin or more. These are called either collections or series. Collections could be more easily thrown into common groups of lyth, as they’re not as exclusive, such as the Slushie or Cloud Collection, they’re also much smaller in amount than series lyth. Series are more exclusive and have more defining traits, such as Shrooms and Jams.

There are different types of Lyth that wander the world that don’t fall into collections or series. These are considered sub-categories. These types have breeding or bodily differences from normal lyth, such as Ghosts, Sirens, Barren, etc.

Hybrids

Hybrids are those that are a mix of Lythani and Mantoo, called Lyantoo! There currently aren't many in the world, but they're slowly making their way into the population. There are also the chances of other types of hybrids between Lyth, Mantoo, and other species, if one gets proper permission.

Sub-Categories

Sub-Categories are traits that influence the Lyth or Mantoo design and function, such as ghost, sirens, and such. These traits can also influence breeding or other functions when it comes to events! Ex: Ghosts traveling through walls, but they're unable to breed. Or Sirens easily traversing waters in an event or having half-breed pups. EX: Nefetari (Siren/Merlyth)

Collections

Collections are smaller than series and don't typically have many around. They're often a small collection of designs in a set, such as the chess piece collection, slushie collection, and cloud collection. EX: Alfie (Cloud Collection)

Past Artists / Admins

Because this group has been active for almost 9 years now, we've had many admins and artists come and go over time. Since some of these artists were from previous game sites and we were all more inexperienced at the time, we never thought to keep track of artist info in the beginning. We're sorry for this inconvenience! We will be constantly updating this info as we find old artists and any help is appreciated, as all the artists should be credited properly!

Events & Lore
"..."

Long ago, there was the God of Time who created the world and his family. As the world began to flourish and grow, he disappeared without a word to his mate and children. They continued on, taking care of the world and moving on with their lives. The Anti-gods then began to rise, attacking the gods during Fear Fest and creating chaos. A god was lost that night and it was quiet, still, unnerving. The Goddess of Ice soon left after, leaving the Mood Goddess to mourn her losses and leave the world, taking the world’s Gods and Anti-gods in a fit of emotion. The gods were gone and there were none to watch the world.

Or so was thought. After the old Lyth gods were gone, there were no gods to keep the balance. However, the God of Time foresaw this and took the time to create two sets of gods that would watch over the world. These gods were the Radiant Ten and Obscura Seven. The Radiant Ten would become more commonly known to the everyday Lyth, while the Obscura Seven became the gods of darker and more mysterious things that weren’t as widely worshipped. They took over the jobs of the previous gods, keeping things in balance before most noticed things were different.

The Aurunoc Takeover

Before becoming King, Caecilius sponsored the Red Rebellion in order to get them to overpower the White and the Black Kingdoms so that he could take over the Black Kingdom and become King. His reasoning for this is because the Black Kingdom is rich with different types of mining resources, such as metals, gems, and stone. He used his alliance with the Rebels, now Red Kingdom, to begin trading with them, by giving them metals and weapons in exchange for supplies. He then renamed the kingdom into Aurunoc, wanting to completely take over.

But there is a secret past that is unknown to the current rulers and people of the Black and Gold Kingdom. The country is scattered with patches of cursed land and landmarks due to a vengeful priest long ago. These curses affect places like Everben and even the actual castle itself, but its unknown to those who live in it. This priest was a follower of one of the ancient missing gods, having met the wandering god once and then giving their life to follow them, eventually gaining immortality and power. Instead of making a show of his abilities, he wandered the world as his god did, advocating for him. However, he wasn't ever successful, as this god was so unheard off no one would believe in it's existence.

Soon, he settled down with a mate and had a child. He still spread the word of his god around, but not to his old extremes. But one day he met with one of the past Kings of the Black Kingdom, attempting to give his god official recognition in the country. The King, thinking him wildly mad, had him removed from his court and insulted his god as he was removed from the castle. The priest became enraged and began to curse the land, piece by piece. His mate found this unsafe for themselves and their child, as he had become obsessed with cursing the land and royal family. And so his mate left, taking their child as he continued cursing all that he could.

Mantoo Islands

The Nine Islands were home of the Mantoo, said to be created by nine Mantoo gods. These islands had the essences of their creators within, influencing the land and development of their planes of existence. These gods resided in varying areas of their islands, hidden from others but still quite capable of keeping their islands afloat in the night sky. All was well and peaceful among the islands, until a celestial blast hit. It was like a shift in the air, putting all on edge. Such sorrow and despair in a large wave. This powerful wave hit the gods to their core, putting them in a deep slumber. The magic holding the islands soon began to quiver and weaken before the Islands came falling from the sky.

As the islands fell towards the Lyth world, it was chaos. Lyth preparing for the end of times, while Mantoo were struggling to keep the peace as everything was constantly blown in the wind and the force of their descent ruined large chunks of their islands. The new Lyth gods, specifically the God of Energies, was aware and ready for such an event, being prepared by his father. As the Islands came closer and closer, he used his power to hold them, keeping them from hitting the surface of the world. The Islands now float, scattered throughout the world. As time passed, the Mantoo and Lyth began to converse and make alliances with one another. The species can continue on, thriving in the world with new gods to watch over them.

Dewra

Dewra is a seaside city on a distant island, home to relaxed and casual residents. A ways away there is a small village like area that hosts a large festival grounds for celebrations, though now the area has become mostly barren of life. A few stray visitors seem to be trying to revive the area into some sort of marketplace.

The Festival Grounds (...)
The Festival Grounds is a nearly empty community grounds off in a small country. It's away from the main capital and is mostly occupied by Atol, Kennocha, their sons and their students. There used to be times when lyth from the capital would host festivals there, away from the open waters of the ocean, but it hasn't happened for quite a while now. Atol and his family have set up a home nearby and clean out the grounds when they have free time. The group hardly complains, the air is clean and any need for civilization is a trip away to the capital.

Mantoo Islands

The Nine Islands were home of the Mantoo, said to be created by nine Mantoo gods. These islands had the essences of their creators within, influencing the land and development of their planes of existence. Currently the gods of the Mantoo are mysteriously inactive.

The Island of Ruam (...)

The Island of Ruam, Island of the Earth Magic Mantoo. The island has a plateau that circles around the center of the Island. Down below is a large plain of grass with hills, boulders, and scattered ponds. Their businesses and homes are carved into the rock of the plateau, wooden or metal beams are often used as supports or decor in their buildings. Many buildings end up being built on top of one another, ramps built to reach the different stories.

When Mantoo move out of their homes they have multiple options, the entire area is refilled with earth using magic so another can be made, the home is merged with another of the nearby businesses or homes, or the home is left vacant for another Mantoo to take ownership. When removing the earth to create these buildings, it is repurposed around their island, either as building material or placed in the plains, eventually creating hills.

The species other than the Mantoo that reside on this island are multiple types of lizard, some birds, horse-like creatures, and cattle. Mantoo will often keep these lizards as pets and use the cattle for dairy and meat. The horses are often left to wander the plains, but some are kept as pets to help with labor, though not frequently. Other than meat from cattle, the Mantoo here often farm. Most farms meet close to their homes, as it's easier to keep an eye on and won't be trampled by wild horses. The produce from these farms are their main source of trading, aside from the occasional sale of meat. Not only do these Mantoo have the space for a lot of farming, but Mantoo with earth magic often have a knack for reading the land and their plants, making them the best gardeners.

The Mantoo of Ruam are often rough, but kind. They value physical strength and life. It is often praised when Earth and Water couples live in Ruam, as they're the best combination for thriving crops, and therefore a thriving community. Often there will be competitions of strength and size of produce. Festivals often celebrate familial strength and the closeness of their community. Most Mantoo that live there are earth magic, water magic, light magic, and air magic, with occasional spotting of other types. Light magic Mantoo often help with the farming as well, while the air magic Mantoo tend to live there to enjoy the large open area for flying off the ledges of the plateau.

During the fall, the Mantoo of the Island held tight, herding all the animals they could into barns built into the plateau. Most Mantoo used their magic to keep their walls strong as the Island plummeted down to the Lyth world. When the Island stopped, the Mantoo were quick to investigate. After the Island community leaders met with the Lyth rulers and peace was made, the Earth Mantoo used their magic to merge their island with the world, large pieces of land merging with the bottom of the Island. They then created the challenge for the lyth, that those who were able to climb their way to the top of their island were allowed in with open arms, as they have shown their strength to the Mantoo of the Island.

The Island of Ramicio (...)

The Island of Ramicio, Island of the Fire Magic Mantoo. The island has small mountains of black dust and rock, the tops of the mountains produce hot steam. In the lower areas, near the base of the mountains, there are scattered spark bushes and hot spring pools. At ground level, there are small plains of ash grass with shades of white and grays. In one of the plains stands a small village with an entrance down below the surface. Underground there are many tunnels, as majority of the Fire Mantoo live underground. The further underground, the hotter it becomes as they get closer and closer to their Fire God. These Mantoo often mine for metals in the island and other islands to create simple steam powered machinery. The Mantoo of this island tend to be good with their paws and magic to create intricate machine parts.

At the lowest parts of their island, separating them from their god, is a large pool of water, which sends steam out of the mountains. The Mantoo have one main festival that they celebrate, celebrating the waters of their island. The festival has three parts, one is where the Mantoo enjoy the island, spending time at the hot springs or riding the steam shafts up and out of the mountains above. The second part is a more serious time. A time of quiet, thanks, and partnership. The Mantoo of the Island visit the Island of Water and individually request and invite Water Mantoo to the island to refill their steaming waters. Younger and less powerful Mantoo will bring their companions to the hot springs above or to the steam vents at the mountains so their Water companions could use their magic to refill the pools. The stronger and more experienced Mantoo will bring their companions deep inside, using their magic to protect their partner from the extreme heat so that they could refill the largest main pool below. The third part ends with a large feast in the plains, the Mantoo inviting their watery partners to join in.

After the fall, the Mantoo were quick to both assist and ask for help from their Water Mantoo friends, to help them rebuild both islands to their natural states. When meeting the Lyth, they were nervous to invite them to their home, finding the species not as resistant to fire as they were themselves. In order to continue down below the surface, Lyth or non-fire Mantoo must befriend an island inhabitant that will protect them on their way below.

The Island of Fulstas (...)

The Island of Fulstas, island of the Lightning Magic Mantoo. Legend has it that the island was created by the child of the Fire and Water Mantoo gods. The island is a large plain of a dark blue/green grass with giant pillars of metal scattered along the land. These pillars stand tall and attract most of the strong lightning strikes from storms. The towns are built in close proximity of the pillars, allowing the pillars to attract the strikes away from their homes. Their homes are made of a mix between stone, marble, and wood. Most structures use the stone and marble on the outside of the buildings, keeping them safe from the constant rain and electricity. There are a few mines on the island, most metals and ores being used to trade for building supplies and exotic foods.

The island doesn't have any festivals, as these inhabitants tend to be simple and free spirited. They enjoy their stormy skies and practice their magic by using the pillars as a way to keep others safe. An unusual trait of the Lightning Mantoo is that their power ranges more than others. Like their God, their magics are an ancient mix of water and fire. Some Mantoo are better at creaming the storms, rather than the actual lightning, their magic only able to make small sparks and frizz. Other Mantoo can only make giant lightning strikes, but can't influence the atmosphere enough to cause even a drizzle of rain. Others are good at both, and some, barely either.

There are not many creatures on the island, as there are no trees or even pools of water. The island does have many species of insect, however. They thrive off the produce on the island and drink the dew left from the storms, some insects even producing small amounts of electricity themselves. Many of the light sources in the towns of the island use some of these insects, to avoid too many fires occurring. The island has a large amount of produce compared to creatures, many vegetables and fruits, the textures and taste rinsing quite a bit. Some vegetables are toastier than others, as they only grow close to the pillars, using the water and heat from electricity. Other fruits are quite juicy and others very mushy due to the amount of constant water raining down upon them.

During the fall, the island inhabitants enjoyed the ride, their structures sturdy enough to withstand even the strongest of earth rumbles due to their storms. They rode the winds and rolled on the grounds as they fell from the skies. When they met the Lyth, they had no real interest, but no hate towards them either. Any Lyth that visit the island must be careful of the recklessness of the inhabitants.

The Island of Clarux (...)

The Island of Clarux is the Island of the Light Magic Mantoo. It’s a large plain scattered with patches of trees and bushes. Flowers speckle the plains and emit a small glow that is more noticeable during the night. The trees’ leaves glow at night, keeping the land lit and easy to travel. A lone river flows through the land, it glitters as if it was made of liquid light. The town buildings are made of birch wood and light marble with intricate patterns decorating wherever they can.

The Mantoo of Clarux are gentle and hold themselves in a dignified manner. They’re more reserved and greatly value purity of heart. The Mantoo can often be found having peaceful debates among one another, as they value learning and growing brighter as a person through conversation. However, some can be seen as rude or naive with their debates as they can sometimes be out of line or poorly timed.

This island has a couple of festivals; The stargazing festival and the lightshow festival. The stargazing festival celebrates the stars and how they shine in the greatest darkness. It begins with a feast of fruits and pastries before Mantoo will gather together with blankets, pillows, and other comfortable items to lay back and watch the sky with appreciation. There isn’t an exact ending time for the festival, as most Mantoo will fall asleep watching the sky with full bellies. The Lightshow festival is where Mantoo will show their skill by doing multiple light shows throughout the night, these shows can range from one individual performing to large amounts of Mantoo working together to perform their show. Aside from the shows, they also have multiple crafting stations for Mantoo to make glowing trinkets, personalized lanterns, and fireworks. At the very end of the festival, all performers and firework crafters perform one last lightshow together.

During the fall, the Mantoo of the island did their best to stick together and keep each other safe. When the island slowed, they investigated their surroundings, finding nothing but darkness. Figuring that it was simply night, they focused on helping their people. As many hours passed, the Mantoo began to grow impatient and concerned. They can feel the sun in their very being, but it is still so dark. After exploration and investigating, the Mantoo found that they had landed within the country borders of Yienoxis. The country was covered in darkness, aside from strange crystals scattering the land and emitting low amounts of light. It took some time before the Mantoo found a good balance between light and darkness in order to work well with the Lyth of the country.

The Island of Tenema (...)

The Island of Tenema, the Island of the Dark Magic Mantoo. The Island is covered in a thick forest, upon entering, you see no light flowing down to the forest floor. Ancient moss covers the trees and rocks, bushes covering the floor. It’s a difficult journey through the forest, it’s pitch black and almost silent. Shadow creatures, monstrous plants, and sneaky critters live in these lands, bringing trouble to all visitors who have yet to make a name for themselves on the island.

The Mantoo of the island live in towns scattered throughout the forest, each specializing in different professions. One town has tamed the land and is in a small clearing where small amounts of light can enter through the trees. They cultivate and take care of the unusual plants they have collected and make potions and medicines to trade to other towns and islands.

Another town specializes in training pets, many mantoo will bring their pets to the town to ask for their assistance in training, they also often visit to attempt to learn how to befriend rarer creatures on their islands. The third area is much smaller, barely meeting the requirements of a village. It is hidden in deeper areas of the island, where ancient Mantoo practice powerful dark magics. They prefer their solitude and do their best to use their magic to keep others out. The village may have more to offer, but no one has been able to find out. These Mantoo find any who successfully travel through the forest are worthy to be considered a friend. They don’t offer much help or guidance for new travelers attempting to go into the forest.

When the islands fell, the Mantoo of the island were surprised, but much of the towns were left intact. Any buildings that were damaged were easily repaired. When exploring outside of the forest during the night, they found an unusual new world, but many quickly retreated back into their forest to avoid the bright light of morning. The representatives of the island agreed to peacefully live among the Lyth, but they offered no assistance in helping Lyth explore their forest. Lyth may enter, but they must prove themselves as all other Mantoo must.
