Energy Realm

unknown.png

The Energy Realm is one of the 9 realms of Arcadia, located at the heart of the continent due to its neutral relations with the other realms. It became known as Honaizu in the ancient Arcadian language, referencing ’endless spiritual enlightenment.'

The God of Energy, Izanagi typically presides over the land from the Heavens and so is a figure that is worshipped throughout the realm.

As the nation of spirituality and wisdom, great significance is placed on connections with the God, who is deemed a symbol of judgement and reckoning of the soul. As a result of this, it is traditional for inhabitants of the realm to honour their god through offerings, rituals and festivals. Many take up the position as scholars, shrine priests and priestesses, shamans, and clairvoyants with the goal of strengthening their connections with the spirit world which Izanagi oversees.

Though generally peaceful, the importance and power of this realm is not to be overlooked..

Lost Woods

Serving as the bridge between the mortal realm and Izanagi’s domain, the Lost Woods is home to wandering spirits in search of restoration. Because of this, very few mortals dare to enter out of fear of becoming a lost soul. Those that do are often driven mad through visions and apparitions they cannot comprehend, forced to return. Those that are able to pass through the spirit barrier have the favour of the Gods and can enter the Aether Shrine-although records of an audience with Izanagi are few and far between.

Aether Shrine

It is said that those who manage to reach the shrine have been born with the wisdom to follow the right path, receiving the spirit’s blessings. The roots of spirit sakura extend from the Sacred Tree and enshroud the shrine, emitting a mystical energy that wards off trespassers. It is unclear what the shrine contains as none have entered, but philosophers of the realm suggest it harbours the many souls harvested by Izanagi, awaiting rebirth. Others consider it empty, representing how each soul is a blank slate to which we apply meaning.
