General Questions

Q. Can I make my own Yumenari?

As we are a Closed Species, you may not, unless you own a MYO (Make Your Own) slot.

Q. How can I obtain my own Yumenari?

You are able to do so in a variety of different ways, including but not limited to: buying official adopts, entering raffles or obtaining your own MYO. Additionally, members of our community are welcome to join our Discord to buy or trade Yumenaris with others!

Q. How much do MYO slots cost?

The following prices are our MYO slot prices, they are not negotiable.

  • Uncommon Yumenari MYO ——— 15 USD
  • Rare Yumenari MYO —————— 30 USD
  • Blessed Yumenari MYO ————— 40 USD

Additionally, we sell Blessing Talismans for 20 USD, which allow you to add two Blessed traits to a MYO or pre-existing Yumenari.
Q. How long will it take to approve my MYO?

It should take 1~4 days for approval. If it takes more time, please resend your form.

Q. How can I update my Yumenari’s Masterlist entry?

You are welcome to DM our official Masterlist account yumenari with a link to your Yumenari’s entry for any changes you’d like to make. Alternatively, you are welcome to comment under the entry’s profile, or update it via Discord as long as we can confirm that you are their owner.

Q. Are we allowed to co-own a Yumenari?

Yes, but we only allow co-ownership for characters and not slots. This means that unless a Yumenari is tied to an entry on the Masterlist, you are not welcome to ask for co-ownership. Additionally, we on the Yumenari Staff Team will not handle any conflicts or drama you may have with the other co-owner, so please make sure it is someone you are willing to co-own with.

Administrative & Staff

Q. Can I become a mod?

Currently, we are not looking for any new additions to our mod team. We will make an announcement whenever this changes!

Q. Do you accept Guest Artists?

We are not looking for any Guest Artists at the moment, however we will make an announcement whenever we are open for applications!

Q. How can I apply to become an affiliate?

You must fulfill a list of requirements, however, meeting all of these requirements does not mean a guaranteed affiliation. The requirements are as follows:

  • A clear trait guide and/or a visual trait sheet
  • Toyhou.se world
  • Discord server with 100 or more members
  • The capability of crossbreeding with Yumenari

Upon affiliation, Owners will have the ability to create one Blessed Crossbreed MYO and will be featured on both our Discord (with the Affiliate role) and Toyhou.se. Your species will be allowed to join in on our events and gachas, and Owners will have the ability to make Crossbreed adopts at any time.

Please note that we have the right to unaffiliate at any time with no public reason given.

Traits, Items & Designing Your Yumenari

Q. What traits can I use when designing my Yumenari?

You can use any traits that are the same rarity or lower than your MYO slot. As an example: if you have an Uncommon MYO, you are welcome to use as many Common and Uncommon traits, but you cannot use any Rare or Blessed traits. Additionally, you may obtain single-use exclusive items for traits from events!

Q. Can I use items on Yumenaris that already exist, or do I need to have an MYO to use them?

You can use your inventory items on any pre-existing design, however you must update the Masterlist entry accordingly; either by contacting yumenari or through the Discord server!

Q. If an item is listed as "Not Type Locked" may I use it for Delusion Yumenari?

No, even if a trait is "Not Type Locked", you may not use an item on a Delusion unless it is marked as such. Normal Yumenari items and Delusion Yumenari items are treated seperately, and should be treated as such.

Q. Can I combine two of the same trait item to create a new item? For example: if I have a Yumenari with a Decomimi trait already, can I combine their Decomimi with another from the Event Shop?

No, each item is its own unique trait and accessory! While you are able to add multiple of an item to a Yumenari, you are not allowed to combine them! For example, if your Yumenari already has a Moon Decomimi, and you have an Event Star Decomimi, you cannot combine the two to have a "Moon and Stars Decomimi". It just means that they can be drawn with either Star or Moon Decomimi, but not both.

Q. Can I use a normal Yumenari MYO for a Delusion, and vice versa?

No, unless you have an item to do so. This is not negotiable.

Q. Can I make my Yumenari based on existing media/copyrighted character?

We do not allow copyrighted characters to be used for a Yumenari (such as kinsonas, dekudogs, etc.). However, we allow inspiration as long as we are able to deduce that it is a different and separate character!

Q. Can I use gore/NSFW motifs for my Yumenari?

No. We do not allow detailed gore, nudity or sexual equipment in the base design as our species is PG-13. However, moderate/cartoony depictions of blood and bones are okay.

Q. Am I allowed to turn my already existing OC into a Yumenari?

Yes! However, if it was not designed by you please make sure to ask the designer for permission.

Q. What would count as a "redesign"?

These are appliciable for redesigning and must be submitted for reapproval:

  • Edits to body type or skin tone. They must be moderate and stay within the same range, however
  • Hair color/Haircut edits.
  • Tail color and/or changing a pattern on the tail(s)
  • Adding and/or removing traits on a Yumenari
  • Editing any existing trait on a Yumenari

However these features can be changed at any time without approval:
  • Changing the character's gender.
  • Giving your Yumenari different outfits
  • Hairstyle edits. For example, turning a ponytail into a braid
  • Slight color tweaks
Q. Can my Yumenari have non-fox traits?

By default, Yumenari can only have fox traits. But non-fox traits (such as: dog ears, deer hooves, antlers, ect) can be added in the form of Blessed/Corrupted traits. However, a Yumenari's tails must always be fox-like!

Q. Can I depict my Yumenari having pawed feet?

Yes! Yumenari are shapeshifters so they can switch between human feet and paws at will.

Q. Can my Nightmare Yumenari have more than one alternate mask?

Yes, as long as you have a new Blank Mask item for each alternate mask, you can! By default, a Yumenari may only have one mask.

Q. Can I put different items in each ear for the Decomimi trait?

As long as they are thematically relevant and contribute to the overall design, yes! You can have different items in each ear. Some examples include: star and moon / teddy bear and rabbit plush dolls / teacup and teapot

Q. What is the item "Howl's Charm" and how does it work?

Howl's Charm is an exclusive event-only item that allows you to change one Dream/Nightmare Yumenari into a Delusion. This item may only be used on pre-existing designs, and cannot be used on undesigned MYOs. If you wish to use it on an undesigned MYO, you must go through approving the Yumenari twice-once as a normal Yumenari, and once with their Delusion design.

From this point onwards, you must draw them with their Delusion design! We currently have no item or otherwise to reverse this process so make sure you don't regret it!

Q. How do I convert traits using a Howl's Charm?

During the process of using a Howl's Charm on your Yumenari, you must convert traits from that of a normal Yumenari to a Delusion Yumenari, as they have seperate trait sheets.

As a general rule of thumb, most traits can be converted to a Delusion trait that is the same (or lower) rarity of the same group. For example, if you have an Uncommon Weather trait on your Yumenari, you can convert it to the Glowing Miasma trait. Additionally, if your Yumenari has Deco traits that do not have a Delusion counterpart (such as Particles or Decomimi), you are welcome to convert them to Deco Delusion traits of the same rarity. However, if your Yumenari has traits that have a Delusion counterpart, you are welcome to use them, regardless of rarity (such as Spectres becoming Mirage Spectres and the Multi-Toned/Patterned Clouds trait).

The only exception is for Blessed traits. If your Yumenari has a Blessed trait that is listed on the traits guide, you are welcome to convert it to a trait that is the same (or lower) rarity of the same group much like other traits. However, if you have a trait that is unique (different ear type, wings, hooved legs, ect.) and cannot be replicated with an already existing Ancient trait, you are welcome to convert it directly as a Corrupted trait.

As with any redesign, you are welcome to contact a member of staff to check on what traits you are eligable to use when using a Howl's Charm on your Yumenari!

Lore

Q. Do Dream and Nightmare Yumenaris interact? Are they friends or enemies?

Culturally, Dream and Nightmare Yumenaris are different, and they see the world in different ways. Individual Yumenaris might have issues with each other but as a group, they are friendly, and think of themselves all as the same. So, while they may not always see eye-to-eye, they visit each others neighborhoods often and celebrate together!

Q. Can Yumenari bear children?

No, Yumenari can't have their own children as they are directly created by the Gods. They live for a very long time, and only die when they wish to return to the reincarnation cycle, so there aren't many children in the first place. However, newly made Yumenari do go through a period of childhood!

Q. Can a Nightmare Yumenari take off their mask? Can they move it somewhere that isn't their face?

Nightmares use their masks to contain their overwhelming miasma to stop it from harming those around them, this means they can never take off their masks! However, they can position the mask off of their face just as long as it stays put on their head. This means it can't go around their neck or shoulders and must be visible from the front. Being pushed to the side, or up onto their forehead or near their ears, are all acceptable mask positions.

Q. Can a Dream Yumenari "steal" a Nightmare's dream, and vice versa?

Yes! If you've ever had a good dream that turned into a nightmare, or a nightmare that turned into a good dream, then that might be the work of two Yumenari giving dreams to the same human, "stealing" their spot! It doesn't happen often, but its definitely possible!
