There are many different religions within the Dreamscape, most however are not Kingdom-wide and most people choose which Spirit to worship. There are no gods, and people only really worship magic beings that roam the world.
Many cultures worship specific Spirits, and shrines are often built for important ones. Depending on the Kingdom, different Spirits are more important to the area; for example the Sun Spirit in Nima or the Forest Spirit in Kanan. Spirits roam the world itself, and some are more active in communities or are present at ceremonies and festivals. Some cultures even worship Dark Spirits, or ones that are more malicious and deceitful.
Most cultures also worship the great Guardians of each Kingdom, especially since they are very important to the protection and maintenance of the land and are very powerful. Guardians are a lot more secretive, however, so they often don't see them.
The government essentially works the same within each Kingdom, however different ones have unique ways they pass down power or are controlled. Some leaders have more power over others, and corruption sometimes takes over.
Power is often passed down to the eldest child of the ruler, however that is not always the case.
Some rulers would rather choose their predecessor, especially if they have no children. This is more common in smaller cities.
Some rulers are chosen based off battles, often between siblings or multiple potential predecessors. This can end up also being to the death. Much more common in Sheil, and usually only for the King and not cities.
Rurah
The Rurah are the Kings and Queens rule each of the four Kingdoms. Some of them are chosen, some follow the bloodline, and others require battles to determine the next ruler. They can be referred to as Rurah or King/Queen interchangeably. They can also be referred to as My Lord/My Lady, the Great Rurah, Your Majesty, etc.
Ojikah
Ojikah are the rulers of powerful cities/Kingdom capitals. They can be elected, but are often the children of Rurah or other powerful people.
Majah
Majah are the rulers of less powerful cities. They are most often elected, but may be the children of Rurah or Ojikah.
Noburah
Noburah are children of Rurah, but don't hold a position of power, either because they are too young or because they will not be receiving a ruling position at all. An Ojikah often starts out as a Noburah.
Guntah
Guntah are military leaders/generals for either the Rurah or the Ojikah. They are often second-hand leaders of the Kingdom or City and also have a lot of power. They often fight alongside their armies.
