Species Rules

No Harassment Policy

Please do not spam or leave unconstructive negative comments. Slurs and other such targeted language are not permitted within this group. If someone leaves such a comment, report the user and notify /SeraphicSage ; do not engage with any trolling. Questions and concerns can also be messaged to /SeraphicSage.

All content posted to pages/forums should relate to the Comet Dividers species or world. Please do not bring personal issues into official forums. Leave any such disputes to private conversations and moderator interactions.

Art Theft Policy

Do not claim any characters that you do not own as your creation/possession. You may draw other’s characters with permission (including NPCs), but you cannot claim them as your own OC. Similarly, do not post *any* art that was not created by you without credit. All dollmakers (such as Picrew) must be fully credited with a link to the dollmaker site and/or artist. Copyrighted photography is not allowed at all. Only public domain and other free-to-use images are allowed for aesthetic boards and closet references.

NSFW Policy

If following the lore, Comet Dividers and Meteor Sprites/Defectives have no reproductive anatomy. This includes genitalia and nipples of any gender. You are not allowed to include these parts in official references or prompt submissions. However, you are free to draw such things for personal art unrelated to canon world events. Mild gore/injuries can be posted for prompt events but not MYO references as long as they are flagged as such. Swear words/inappropriate language must also be tagged. All NSFW must be properly tagged using the website’s mature content filter. Underage users cannot interact with NSFW content at all. Any violators of these rules will have their content removed and be banned from the species.

Follow Netiquette

Though this is a small group, it is not fully private and secure. Remember that everything here can be accessed by the public and shared across the internet for anyone to see. As such, do not post any private information that you would like to keep secure. Moreover, remember the human. Everyone within this group is a person behind a screen worthy of human decency. Unless you are in danger or there is illegal activity, please don’t take the internet too seriously.

Regarding Canon-Based Characters

MYOs can be designed based on canon fictional characters for personal use only. Canon-based characters cannot be sold or traded for any real-world currency or equivalent. This includes but is not limited to: video game currency (acnh tickets, robux, etc.), art slavery, any real-world labor (not including drawing commissions), store coupons, cryptocurrency, and gift cards). You may gift canon-based characters or trade them for pre-existing characters or commissions.

Valid canon-based characters must not use any copyrighted material within their design or other character qualities (i.e., a specific building they work at). Logos and other such symbols cannot be used on canon-based characters. Canon-based characters must also be distinct in that they cannot be fully mistaken for the character they are based on. For instance, you can’t just add Comet Divider traits onto Naruto; you must make some alterations to the design (no recolors!).

Characters cannot be based on a real human unless it is specifically your sona! Public figures in any form can also not be used for canon-based designs.

How do I know if my OC is too close to a copyrighted character?

Sometimes the line between inspiration and copying gets blurry. That’s okay, so let’s look at some pointers that will help you know if your design is original:

  • Does the design use any copyrighted logos or imagery that do not belong to you?
  • At a glance, can your character be confused for a copyrighted character?
  • Draw both the inspiration and OC (without any Comet Divider traits) together. Can you distinguish them easily by their silhouette alone?
  • Could you cosplay as your OC by using a costume from the character that inspired them?
If you’ve done these checks and still aren’t sure about your OCs originality, submit their design to the MYO Approval forum and ask for feedback.

Selling/Trading Rules

Currently, only permitted staff can create adopts. You cannot sell an MYO slot for more than you bought it for. Designs that use copyrighted images or are heavily based on a preexisting character cannot be sold for any currency (see above rule). They may only be gifted or traded. Original designs may be sold and traded for any price the seller deems fit.

Prosthetics and Other Disabilities

Comet Dividers are notoriously fragile, so they’ve done their best in coming up with medical technology to remedy such issues. Any type of disability and medical device (even magical ones!) can be represented on a Comet Divider. Glass legs filled with jelly? Go for it! Swiss army knife finger attachments? Totally allowed! Rocket-powered wheelchairs? They’ve invented them all! The only limitations are that these devices cannot alter traits visually. That is, they can’t have tail-extenders, prosthetic antennae, mechanical wings, etc. Other than that, Comet Dividers are a very diverse species with their own ways of self-expression and problem-solving, so be creative (and respectful) if choosing to include disability in your designs.

Can my OC have a Comet Divider form/version?

As long as you follow the rest of the design rules, you are free to use existing OC designs for your Comet Divider. However, if they are part of another original species, please follow their rules for alt versions. If you have permission to use the character in multiple species worlds, then it’s completely okay! You are also welcome to remove a character from the species at any time; just inform /SeraphicSage of that decision. If you remove a Comet Divider from the group, you can also re-add them later if you so choose.
