[ TRAIT GUIDE ]

All traits will allow the addition of markings as long as they:
- Only cover 25% or below of a Pokemon’s body
- Are lighter/darker hues of a Pokemon’s current palette
- Say otherwise in the trait description

Certain Pokemon and attributes are not as restricted to colors, traits, or forms. This includes:
- Fire, which may be any color(s) (including rainbow)
- Furfrou haircuts (does not require Keystone; can be the canonical colors of the dyed fur or changed with Shiny/Mystic Water)
- Hair in general (any color(s))

Once a design has been approved, submitted, and added to the 'Profile' section of your inventory, you must either purchase or apply an item/trait to further change, add, or remove colors/markings. If your Pokemon's 'Profile' section has not been updated with a link to their information you may still edit and resubmit the design for approval again.

BASIC

Basic Pokemon are the canonical appearance they retain in the anime and games. While they can have slight variations in color saturation and small attributes, such as freckles or tufts of fur, they tend to stay true to their species norm.

shiny.png

SHINY

Pokemon that are any color that differs from their canonical appearance. The only exception to this are the colors black and white, as they are mutations that occur only in Albino and Melanistic Pokemon.

Shiny Pokemon cannot be Melanistic or Albino.

melanistic.png

MELANISTIC

Pokemon that display an overabundance of melanin production and are all black in color.

Melanistic Pokemon cannot be Shiny or Albino.

albino.png

ALBINO

Pokemon that display a loss of melanin. As a result, they are usually all white / light cream in color and may have small areas of pink on patches of exposed skin. These Pokemon tend to have pale blue, pink, or red eyes.

Albino Pokemon cannot be Shiny or Melanistic.

piebald.png

PIEBALD

Pokemon that display unpigmented spots or patches over a pigmented color (i.e. black/brown with white patches). These patches may be anywhere from pure white, to off-white, to simply fading the hue of an area when overlapped. This is known to optionally affect eye color, giving the Pokemon a heterochromatic appearance.

Piebald Pokemon cannot be Melanistic or Albino.

ragdoll.png

RAGDOLL

Pokemon that are extra fluffy! Pokemon with fur will now have twice as much, while Pokemon with no fur will now sport a shiny new coat.

sphinx.png

SPHINX

Pokemon that display no fur, patches of no fur (i.e. an Eevee who is either completely bald or whose body is bald while retaining their mane), or sleek fur. In some cases, Pokemon who are already inherently hairless lose certain attributes (i.e. a Bulbasaur without a bulb).

tamagotchi.png

TAMAGOTCHI

Pokemon who seem to have fused with technology and now display a screen face. They can emote with various different expressions and their ‘mask’ or ‘visor’ may switch freely between different colors. They can optionally gain the Steel-typing.

examples_treat.png

TREAT

Pokemon who display attributes from a variety of different desserts and confectionaries. This may result in traits such as but not limited to whip cream, sprinkles, ice cream, and waffle cones. Treat Pokemon are allowed many flavors of color and markings.

TOYBOX

Toybox Pokemon come in a wide range of designs from Pokemon who display objects, organic life, or liquids inside their body to Pokemon who seem to be made partly or completely out of fabric, glass, metal, plastic, or otherwise. Toybox Pokemon may come in many different shapes, colors, and markings as long as they are recognizable as the species they are.

DOMESTIC

Pokemon that display a body shape, appendages, or limbs that differ from their canonical appearance. For example: a Houndour may sport the body shape of a corgi or a Delcatty may have a different type of tail. Pokemon who do not canonically have an appendage, such as a tail, will now be able to gain one!

Domestic allows for the addition of complex markings that are not restricted to a percent amount or palette. This does NOT change the base colors of a Pokemon - only adds!

unknown.png

ELEMENTAL

Pokemon that display a different type than their canonical counterpart. For example: a Charmander that is Grass Elemental may have green coloration and leafy appendages on the end of its tail instead of fire. Pokemon may have up to three types and can retain their original typing with the addition of the Element they’ve gained, such as Charmander being Fire/Grass, or completely replace it to become a pure Grass-type.

Pokemon with the same typing are referred to as Elemental+. If a Charmander were to be Elemental (Fire), it would become Elemental (Fire+). This trait emphasizes and enhances the typing - perhaps by adding a fiery mane to a Charmander or making them appear as though they are made of magma!

unknown.png

HYBRID

Pokemon that display attributes of another species. For example: a Vulpix/Houndour hybrid might have the body of a Vulpix but the skull and coloration of a Houndour. Pokemon can have up to three species and typings in a fusion.

unknown.png

FLUTTERBY

Pokemon that display wings from one pair to multiple! These can be any kind of wings and do not have a defined appearance or restrictions. Flutterby Pokemon can optionally gain the Flying-type.

unknown.png

ALL-SEEING

The better to see you with! These Pokemon may display anywhere from one additional eye to several. These eyes can be anywhere on a Pokemon's body and may be any desired color(s) or shape (including the sclera, iris, and pupil).

unknown.png

MULTI

Pokemon that display several more limbs or appendages than normal, ranging from ears, legs, and even tails.

unknown.png

LUMINOUS

Pokemon who display bioluminescent markings or bodies. This luminous glow can be any one color regardless of trait and may either add new markings or affect preexisting ones. For example: an Albino Purrloin would be able to have red markings.

unknown.png

REGAL

Pokemon that display antlers, spikes, horns, or other keratinous growths such as scales (and even hooves).

unknown.png

SLUDGE

Pokemon who display bodies or body parts that seem to be gooey. This oozing substance can be any color.

WEREMON

Weremon come in three different forms and affect certain Pokemon differently depending on their body. Pokemon with the Weremon trait who are canonically quadrupedal will become bipedal (standing on two legs), bipedal Pokemon will become quadrupedal (standing on four legs), and those Pokemon that lack any legs at all will now gain a new pair(s).

Weremon may optionally appear larger and more monstrous, such as having disheveled, spikey fur and long claws and teeth.
