About

You want to know more about me? Sure, but only if I get to ask you questions, too. It's only fair.

Era is a member of the Investigation Team of the Knights of Favonius, a position she earned partly due to her ownership of her Dendro Vision.

She is a very curious, inquisitive woman, eager to try new things and learn how everything around her works. While she wouldn't call herself adventurous, she has shown marked bravery and is willing to help almost anyone if asked, and she will go almost anywhere if it means she can learn about something she's interested in. She is generally kind and accommodating to others and tries to remain civil through all encounters, though sometimes it can be obvious when someone is getting on her nerves.

Era seems to be good with children, as Klee is notably fond of her. She is known through Mondstadt as a reliable Knight and a person not to cross, as she does have a bit of a temper when pushed far enough.

Appearance

Era appears to be around Amber or Sucrose's age. She has long ginger hair pulled back in a ponytail with her bangs framing her face, warm brown eyes, and fair skin with freckles on her cheeks, shoulders, and arms

She has a predominately green and brown color scheme, matching her Dendro Vision. She wears a long green sleeveless duster over a sleeveless white shirt, a dark green and white corset bearing the Knights of Favonius crest, brown pants, and knee-high dark green boots with golden ornaments. She wears brown leather bracers and two-toned gloves to protect herself from her bowstring, as well as a belt with pouches and her Vision attached. She also has a green ribbon holding her ponytail back, as well as two golden armbands on her upper arms decorated with four-pointed stars. When in Dragonspine, she wears a heavy long-sleeved green coat in place of the duster.

  • Hair #B06500
  • Eye #552B00
  • Skin #FFE9D5
  • Color #507D2A

Design Notes

  • Her corset bears the Favonius crest in gold on a white field, similar to Jean's "Favonian Devotion" and Amber's "100% Outrider" outfits. Similarly, Era's gloves are brown with green palms, matching Amber's gloves with red palms. The crest on the back of Amber's gloves is instead embossed on Era's bracers.
  • Her belt is on the outside of her coat, whether it's her duster or her heavy coat. There are pouches on both sides, and her Vision hangs from a pouch on her right.
  • She can often be seen with different braids in her hair. For simplicity's sake, a default in-game model would only have her in a simple ponytail tied back with her green hair ribbon. In an ideal world, though, she would have variations with different braid patterns. Alt outfits could potentially make use of this.
  • Both her duster and heavy coat have a hood, as well as gold constellation-like detailing along the hems. Her heavy coat is held closed in the front where her duster is left open, and the heavy coat's sleeves are tucked into her bracers.
  • She has slightly loose-fitted pants because I have a real pants agenda. They're tucked into her boots, which are dark green with golden detailing resembling a simplified version of Jean's boots.

Trivia

  • Her father was the previous Chief Alchemist. He died a few months before Albedo arrived in Mondstadt due to an unpredictable accident on a Knight expedition.
  • When in need of comfort, she asks those she trusts most to braid her hair in whatever fashion they see fit. Her father used it as a way to help her calm down and sort through her feelings while she was growing up, and it's now ingrained as a coping mechanism for her.
  • She originally wasn't sure about pursuing alchemy further after her father's death, but she's learned things almost by accident due to joining the Investigation Team and spending so much time with Albedo, Sucrose, and Timaeus on their projects. She eventually just accepted it and began learning on her own time.
  • At one point, she considered joining the Outriders with Amber, which is why she trained in archery. Ultimately, though, she felt the division wasn't her place.
  • Most of the Knights who know her well know that she absolutely has a crush on Albedo, despite her frequent claims to the contrary. Kaeya's just the one most likely to openly tease her about it.

Character Details

"That girl is like a leaf on the wind," the people of Mondstadt say about Era.

Indeed, it's difficult to predict where one might find her from day to day, as she goes wherever her curiosity takes her as if riding the wind itself.

Whether the library, to Windrise, or even up Dragonspine's frigid slopes, if she wants to learn something, chances are she'll aim for hands-on investigation and experimentation.

This holds especially true if it concerns testing her capabilities with her Vision.

It's really no wonder she joined the Investigation Team, despite her archery skills leading many to believe she'd become an Outrider instead.

Character Story 1

The majority of Era’s life has been spent in the presence of the Knights of Favonius.

With the loss of her mother at an age too young for her to remember, her father took to bringing her to the Knights’ headquarters while he worked so little Era wouldn’t be left alone. As a result, she grew up alongside many of Mondstadt’s best and brightest.

And it gave her plenty of time to begin wandering.

When she wasn’t keeping her father company in his lab, she could be found in any number of places. Watching the Cavalry train, greeting the Outriders as they returned from their scouting, devouring all manner of books in the library, and sometimes even trying to get a glimpse into the Grand Master’s office. Practically every member of the Knights knows Era’s face, and she knows them in turn.

The driving force behind all of this was simple curiosity. And that curiosity grew into a boundless thirst for knowledge and experience. Watching the Knights train turned into analyzing their movements and imitating them when she thought nobody was looking. Reading in the library turned into note-taking and thorough research, as well as asking any adult within reach for clarification on difficult subjects.

And a want to explore the world outside of the walls of Mondstadt led to her befriending another child of the Knights—one bright and fiery Amber.

Character Story 2

The first time Era told her father that she wanted to see what was outside of the city, he was hesitant.

Era was his only child, after all. He couldn’t bear to have her hurt because she left the city before she was old enough to understand the dangers. However, he also did not want to stifle her curiosity and sense of adventure.

Eventually, the solution presented itself. The Outriders regularly had another young girl tag along with them, one who he knew was close to Era’s age. After a few discussions with the Outriders’ captain, Era was set to accompany them on a simple scouting mission through the Whispering Woods.

And it was on this mission that she met Amber.

Her first impression of Amber was that this was someone with more energy than she thought she could keep up with. The granddaughter of the Outrider captain was constantly scurrying about the camp, checking the perimeter and kicking loose stones for fun. But Amber was also kind and companionable, and Era found it easier than she thought to connect with her. Soon, the two seemed inseparable. Amber answered all of Era’s questions about the Outriders, the woods, and anything else she could think of. And what Amber couldn’t answer, she found an Outrider who could.

This outing solidified the two girls as close companions for the years ahead. Era was witness to many of Amber’s infamous antics, and while she would sometimes become exasperated, she never lost her fondness for her childhood best friend. Amber is the one who sparked Era’s interest in archery, and almost the entire reason Era ever considered becoming an Outrider at all.

It was Era to whom Amber turned for comfort after her grandfather resigned from the Outriders and disappeared.

And Amber was the one Era cried to the most after her own father’s death.

Character Story 3

Era’s father was a constant in her life for as long as she could remember. The Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favonius, he spent much of his time researching, whether in the lab or the field. Era, in her enthusiasm for learning, would often look over his research materials and ask questions. It made her feel closer to her father when he would share his work with her, and he appreciated the extra strength it gave the bond between them.

But their time in this world together was not to last.

One day, Era’s father accompanied members of the Investigation and Reconnaissance Companies into the field, investigating unusual Abyssal activity. They were woefully underprepared for what they encountered, and Era’s father was but one of many who returned critically injured. The Knights had returned as quickly as possible to try and save their lives.

But it was not quick enough to save Era’s father.

Afterward, Era felt directionless. Her father had always been there to guide her when nobody else could. What was she to do now?

Many expected her to take her father’s position, but she declined, as her grief had dampened her drive for research and alchemy as a whole. The position was filled by another just a few months later.

Some then anticipated that she would join the Outriders. While she did train in their ways, with the division’s decline in the wake of its founder’s disappearance, she ultimately decided against it.

Her path forward only formed when she met a young bioalchemist struggling over her latest experiment. The green-haired young girl yelped as Era announced her presence.

“I’m sorry for startling you! My name is Era. Do you need help?”

Character Story 4

The bioalchemist eventually introduced herself as Sucrose, and she did indeed need help. While Era could tell that she was wary, as the experiment progressed, Sucrose began to relax and even grow enthusiastic. As well, Era felt her grief disperse for a while as the thrill of experimentation and discovery set in. When success finally emerged, both girls cheered in celebration, and Sucrose turned to her new friend with a shy but wide smile.

“I haven’t worked alongside anybody on a project like this before. It was a pleasant experience. Maybe we can work together in the future?”

And thus did Era and Sucrose’s newfound friendship begin to bloom. Where Amber coaxed out Era’s love of adventure and exploration, Sucrose was the push she needed to rediscover her love of research, experimentation, and alchemy. Though the cloud of grief remained, Era began to shine again. And while the reason for it remained unknown, everyone in the Knights noticed it.

“I haven’t seen you read this voraciously in months!” Lisa declared one day.

“It’s so good to see you smile again!” Noelle said on another day.

Era finally felt like she was finding her direction again, but she still wasn’t sure where to go from here. Not until the day she received her Vision.

As she returned to the city, turning the gem over in her hands, she wasn’t sure whether to ask Amber or Sucrose for guidance. The decision was made for her when Sucrose burst out of one of the labs in the city as Era walked by, smoke trailing behind her through the doorway. Era immediately stopped and helped clean up the mess, although Sucrose could tell that she was preoccupied with something.

As soon as Era explained her predicament, Sucrose gained a determined look. She led her friend up to headquarters and to the Chief Alchemist’s office.

“Mr. Albedo will surely know what to do!”

Character Story 5

Era first met Albedo on the day he arrived to formally take her father’s position.

Having spent the majority of the day taking in what she feared would be her last moments in the lab she grew up in, she was startled by a young man clearing his throat behind her.

“Apologies if this seems strange, but I couldn’t help but sketch you when I came into the room. Would you like to see it?”

Though she eventually left the room in a hurry, she couldn’t help but be quietly curious about this young man who was brilliant enough to take her father’s place in the Knights. The things she heard left her mystified and in awe. This Kreideprinz seemed so young, and yet so accomplished and skilled. There truly was no one better for the position. With no knowledge of how to approach such a person, their few encounters after that first day were awkward and left her feeling embarrassed when she recalled them.

And the day Era received her Vision, Sucrose led her right to his door.

Though the encounter began awkwardly, Albedo seemed genuinely interested in Sucrose’s proposal for Era to join the Investigation Team, and soon it was made official. And though it was strange at first, as Era began finding her place in the company, she soon learned that she had nothing to fear from her new captain and teammates.

Albedo was truly as brilliant as the rumors claimed. Era watched with awe as he breezed through any research he took on. He was also noticeably kind, if a bit awkward and blunt. He didn’t hold any of their previous encounters against her, and she found herself growing more at ease in his presence as the months wore on. Sucrose’s familiar presence aided in her comfort, and the two continued to work well together. Timaeus, for all his strange ideas and proposals, also became someone she enjoyed working with and getting to know. And something within her finally clicked.

Era had finally found her direction, and she was all the stronger and wiser for it.

Talk Me Through It

Though Era would never claim any sort of expertise in the alchemical field, she did grow up spending hours in her father’s lab watching him work.

When her father would grow frustrated with an experiment, wondering where it was going wrong, he would have his young daughter sit with him.

“Era, dear, would you let me talk you through this so I can find out what went wrong?”

Through reciting the steps aloud to her, he would eventually realize what had gone wrong and elatedly rush to correct his mistake.

In this way, Era became an invaluable asset to her father. She learned to watch for when he was beginning to struggle, or when a result turned out differently than he expected.

“Did it mess up? Okay. Talk me through it, dad.”

When she befriended Sucrose, she did the same thing, keeping an eye on when the bioalchemist would begin to grow frustrated and wonder why something wasn’t turning out correctly.

“Come here, Sucrose. Talk me through it. We’ll figure out what went wrong together.”

After joining the Investigation Team, Era was initially unsure of how to interact with her new captain.

In truth, Albedo slightly intimidated her with his unshakeably calm nature.

But the first time she watched him become confused with a result, insisting he’d done everything right, she couldn’t help herself.

She sat down beside him, leaned forward, and smiled.

“Talk me through it, Captain.”

Vision

Era tends to become embarrassed when asked to recount how she earned her Vision.

Having been entrusted with looking after Klee for a day, the two had been exploring Windrise in order to minimize the carnage from Klee’s inevitable use of her explosives.

But it was not to be a peaceful outing, as they were suddenly set upon by a curious mix of Hydro and Dendro Slimes.

Remembering what she had taught herself about elemental reactions, Era managed to trick the Dendro Slimes into applying their Dendro effect to the Hydro Slimes.

And then she told Klee to throw one of her bombs.

She was sure the resulting explosion was visible from the Favonius Cathedral, but miraculously, neither knight was hurt.

And when the smoke cleared, there was a shining green gem at Era’s feet.

Hello

Era, Second-in-Command of the Investigation Team of the Knights of Favonius, at your service! If you need anything, let me know. I'll do my best to help!

Chat: Outing

Ah, it's nice to get out every once in a while. There's so much to see.

Chat: Where To Go

Alright, where to next, Traveler? Lead the way!

Chat: Rest

Don't feel bad about taking a break if you're tired. Exhaustion doesn't help anything, whether it's adventuring or research.

When It Rains

Everything seems different when it's raining. Maybe I can test how it affects my Vision...

When Thunder Strikes

Careful, getting struck by lightning is not fun. I... may have let it happen once for curiosity's sake...

When It Snows

Snow is so peaceful... but normally I'm too busy finding a heat source to notice it.

When the Sun Is Out

Sunny weather is where I thrive. Plants grow best with plenty of sunlight, after all! Well... most of them.

Good Morning

It's a new day! Let's head out, I'm sure there's lots to discover today.

Good Afternoon

Don't forget to take a break and eat, okay? You can't adventure with no energy!

Good Evening

Sunsets make me understand why people like painting at this hour. Everything is so soft and warm, almost magical.

Good Night

I'll take first watch tonight, okay? Get some rest.

About Era

Me, an alchemist? Hardly! I do help Albedo when he needs me, and I know some of the basics, but I'm more of a general investigator. Alchemy is incredibly difficult, and I really respect Albedo and Sucrose for being so good at it.

About Us: Gratitude

Please, don't ever be afraid to ask me for help. Whatever you need. You helped us save Mondstadt when we needed it most. It's the least I can do after that.

About Us: Exploration

Even if you think you've seen it all, there's always more out there to explore and discover. If you ever find you need some company while exploring, come find me. I'd be happy to discover new things with you.

About The Vision

I'm still learning what I can do with my Vision. I don't exactly know many other Dendro users... But Albedo and Sucrose are both helping me. I don't know where I'd be without them.

Something to Share

Here, I had some extra time recently, so I made some soaps from different flowers and sunsettia oil, plus a tiny bit of alchemy to make sure they last. Just a thing I like to do sometimes. I've got windwheel aster, calla lily, snapdragon, cecilia—oh, that's my favorite, by the way... c'mon, take your pick!

Interesting Things

When I can't leave the city for some reason or another, I like to sit up in the hands of Barbatos' statue by the cathedral. It's a wonderful stargazing spot, and it kind of makes me feel like he's watching over me, you know? It's nice.

About Amber

I'm happy on the Investigation Team, but sometimes I feel bad about not joining the Outriders with Amber. She's the closest thing to a sister I have and I don't ever want to let her down. Sometimes I help her out when she needs me to. Pyro and Dendro are a good match, after all.

About Venti

You've heard him sing, right? He tells the most amazing stories! Worth the risk of sneaking him a bit of wine as payment, in my opinion. Sometimes, though, he seems really sad for some reason. I hope he knows that I'm willing to listen if he ever needs someone to talk to...

About Sucrose

She's absolutely brilliant. I'm proud to call her my best friend. But she's so shy. If she'd just be a bit more confident in herself when it comes to things other than alchemy, she could accomplish anything she wanted!

About Klee

I absolutely adore Klee. She's a really sweet kid! She's just... a lot to handle. Hopefully, she'll learn restraint as she grows older...

About Albedo: Captain

I don't think I could serve under any other captain at this point. Albedo's just... amazing. He's kind and sincere, and you can tell when he's really interested in something because he just lights up like a crystalfly. If he doesn't know something, he finds it out. And if it's within his capabilities, he'll always help out when you need him. I'm really glad to know him.

About Albedo: Crush

Do I have a... a crush? What?! Why- Who- Where did you ever get that idea?! ...Wait. D-did Kaeya put you up to this? Oh, he is going to pay for this...

About Jean

I can't imagine where the Knights would be without Master Jean. She's incredibly steadfast and hard-working, not to mention kind and graceful. She really should give herself more breaks, though...

About Kaeya

He's... alright... I guess... Okay, no, he takes every chance he can get to get on my nerves. If it's not official Knight business, I don't want to hear it from him. That being said... Kaeya is an exceptional knight, and he does have Mondstadt's best interests at heart. I think.

About Lisa

I like to spend some of my time in the library when I can, so I know Lisa pretty well. She's a great person, if a little... bold, at times. But you really can count on her when you need her. She knows a lot about things both academic and worldly, and she has great advice. Just... be careful with the books. Be very careful.

About Eula

Eula can be really scary sometimes, but once you get to know her, she's really kind and reliable. Don't ever let her know I said that, by the way. I'm not sure I'm ready for the "vengeance" she'd enact for that...

About Aeris

I don't mind them at all! They have a good heart, and they bring a certain... liveliness to my day when they drop by. Though it gets exhausting having to help them explain themself every time...

About Kari

She's very sweet most of the time! But, uh... just be careful. She has a few tricky tendencies. She doesn't mean any harm, but it's a chore trying to keep her from pranking the wrong people sometimes.

About Collei

You've met Collei? How's she doing? I'm always so proud when I get one of her letters. She's grown so much from when she first arrived in Mondstadt, and every letter sounds happier than the last. I almost couldn't believe it when she told me she got a Dendro Vision! She definitely deserves it after everything she's been through.

About Kritias

Oh, yes, the smith! He often stops by to ask about anything the Investigation Team might have that could aid in his forging, from gadgets to just spare metal. Honestly, I’m quite interested to know what his results were with those Ruin Guard scraps…

About Iris

I remember when Amber and I first took her under our wing… She’s been through a lot, and I’m genuinely proud of how far she’s come. Her catalyst work is incredible to watch, too, if you ever get the chance to see her in action!

More About Era: I

You want to know more about me? Sure, but only if I get to ask you questions, too. It's only fair.

More About Era: II

My position in the Investigation Team? I guess you could call me a sort of "Acting Captain" for the times when Albedo can't step away from his research. "Second-in-Command" isn't an official title or anything. I just kind of fell into the role over time. Actually, it was Sucrose's idea for me to join the Investigation Team in the first place, after I got my Vision. I wasn't sure what to do and she thought Albedo could help. We've been friends for a while, and I trust her judgment, and. Well. You see where we are now!

More About Era: III

Why am I not an alchemist? Well... you may know this already, but my dad was the Chief Alchemist before Albedo. It felt like everyone in Mondstadt was waiting for me to fill his position, and with how much I was grieving at the time, it felt... not great. I loved my dad, but I want to be my own person, not constantly compared to what he did. Although... don't tell anybody, but I dabble in alchemy a lot more often than I let most people see... Shh! That's our secret. Well... Albedo knows, too, of course. And Sucrose. And Timaeus... but still!

More About Era: IV

This may sound like an odd request, but... if I ever come to you and I seem upset, could you... braid my hair? You can do it however you like! Huh? Why? Well, uh... it's... something my dad used to do for me when I was upset, is all.

More About Era: V

I feel like I've learned so many things I would've never even dreamed of since meeting you. Thank you for allowing me to accompany you on your journeys. If... you ever leave Teyvat, do come back for a visit every once in a while, yeah? I'd love to hear more stories and learn even more from you.

Era's Hobbies

I really like stargazing, especially on Dragonspine. There's something about the cold there that just clears the air right up. You can see so many stars... Oh, I have to show you sometime!

Era's Troubles

Sometimes I wish I knew if I'm making more progress with my Vision than I think. I mean, I just look at what everyone around me is capable of and I feel... inadequate. I know I shouldn't compare my own journey to others', but it can be really hard sometimes.

Favorite Food

Maybe it's a consequence of spending so much time in Dragonspine, but... I'm really fond of warm foods. Nothing against cold dishes, but something warm just feels... cozy, in a way. It makes me happy.

Least Favorite Food

For the love of Barbatos, do not let me eat anything bitter. I feel like I'm choking, and the flavor just coats everything for ages after and just... eugh. No.

Receiving a Gift: I

Oh, this is absolutely wonderful! Please, keep this up!

Receiving a Gift: II

You never stop improving. It's great to see!

Receiving a Gift: III

Uh... I'm sorry, I'm not... good with bitter things...

Birthday

Happy birthday! Come with me. I want to show you my favorite stargazing spot. Yes, I know it's in Dragonspine, but I've packed plenty of goulash and blankets, and I have a fire pit set up there already. We'll be fine. Let's go!

Feelings About Ascension: Intro

Whoa, that was... different. Can you tell me more about how this works?

Feelings about Ascension: Building Up

Incredible... Does this have any links with alchemy? Let's look into it together. Who knows what we could learn.

Feelings about Ascension: Climax

This is amazing! I never thought I'd come this far.

Feelings about Ascension: Conclusion

I've had a lot of people help me on my journey. Amber, Sucrose, Albedo... and now you. Thank you for helping me realize my true strength and capabilities. I couldn't have gotten this far without you.
