Profile

Physical Appearance

  • Waist-length mahogany hair
  • Red eyes
  • Fair skinned, although she was much more tanned when she was younger
  • Somewhat tall in height
  • Physically fit with a dancer's build and particularly strong legs
  • One line marking under left eye and across cheek
  • 5 piercings per ear
  • Sharp canines and nails

Clothing Style

Nakeeta tends to gravitate toward reds and reddish-brown colors for her clothing, specifically mahogany. She tends to have a somewhat sexy punk-ish vibe to her outfits, and she is always very particular about the general percentage of skin she shows with her outfits. If she's wearing a low cut top she'll typically couple it with a long skirt or pants, and if she's wearing a short bottom her top will probably be rather modest. Even her "casual" outfits tend to be rather fashionable and mildly extravagant. Nakeeta is fond of belts, boots, gloves, and her signature pair of goggles, so she has a very mild steampunk feel to her outfits (save for the fact there's no Victorian influence). Her earrings and jewelry tend to be gold, and she tends to like thick golden necklaces and bracelets over thin ones.

Personality

Nakeeta is a spunky, headstrong, and rather bossy pop star who flaunts her success and fortune. She is confident to the point of being arrogant, sassy, and depending on her company she has a habit of sounding rather flirty. She enjoys having an exciting and opulent lifestyle, and she spends most of her time when she's not performing or doing any of the involved prep work or traveling she enjoys going to parties, socializing, and basking in the general demonic environment. Although she's liked by her close music group members, most people that know her in person consider her to be high maintenance and a bit of a brat. She can be selfish and condescending at times, and she tends to be a little stingy when it comes to lazy people or beggars. She's by no means uncharitable though, since she does regularly donate to worthy causes and sends funds/supplies home to help out the village, but she is very harsh toward people who try to get freebies or favors from her when they're perfectly well off already. She hates lazy freeloaders more than anything, and she's very likely to pull some strings to make such people worse off if they try to take advantage of her.

Nakeeta is outspoken and assertive in any situation she happens to be in. Even though she can frequently act like a diva, she takes all her performances and her music in general very seriously. Unfortunately this also means she can be pretty harsh toward mistakes, or at least stupid mistakes rather than honest ones. In general, she also has a habit of being particularly condescending toward most men, for her home environment of essentially all-women fostered the mindset of viewing men as only things to be conquered. She's more open-minded since she's been living away from home for years now, but she still greatly prefers female company in general and is much more harsh and slow to trust toward strangers who are men. She's obviously better about it once she has warmed up to them though, since she has no issues with her musical group or the reoccurring crew members.

Abilities

  • Raynbo rifting - rank 1/5
  • Skilled at singing and dancing
  • Proficient at playing piano/keyboard, although only for composition purposes rather than performance

Strengths

  • Confident, assertive, and persistent
  • Persuasive, focused on her goals, and never a quitter
  • High energy and on the move, yet she can keep a level head even under stressful conditions
  • Never lets herself get walked/talked over and won't put up with anyone's bullshit

Weaknesses

  • Bossy, arrogant, condescending
  • High maintenance, gets irritated by even small inconveniences (involving her work/performances), and a huge diva
  • Materialistic, cruel toward lazy people, and a touch sadistic (not for active physical violence, only other people's misfortune)
  • Irresponsible, untrustworthy, and works only for herself and the handful of people she is emotionally invested in

Backstory

Although she was the middle sibling of her family, Nakeeta was often spoiled by her grandmother, who served as a guardian after their mother passed away and their father left. She got along rather well with her older sister, Neoni, but she tended to tease her younger brother, Neoka, and would usually talk their grandmother into scolding him more harshly when he would get into trouble. This made their early relationship rather rocky, but it was likely that she was jealous of him being so "special" for being the inheritor of their ancestor's ability to shapeshift. Neoka at one point suffered a rather severe injury when a mysterious beast teeming with dark energy attacked him, and shortly after he recovered he ran away from home without warning.

Nakeeta was partially annoyed by her brother's rash behavior, but she gradually got the urge to get out into the world too. She spurned the majority of her combat training to pursue her passion for dance and music, which her grandmother found somewhat superfluous, but she never tried to dissuade her from her desire to leave the village. Nakeeta eventually left for Emdrica, where she met her future music group members by going to essentially every music event and audition opportunity she could find in the city. Their success grew quickly once they found a manager and then company willing to take them on, and Nakeeta's reputation as a Daliarivon star and performer continues to grow into the present day.

They frequently tour Daliarivon and perform regularly at the demonic festivals held throughout the regions. Nakeeta is perfectly content with her life of success and stardom, but she's silently hoping her popularity and outreach might potentially help her find out what happened to her missing brother.

Trivia:

  • Nakeeta's design was worked out when I was in 3rd or 4th grade when I drew a little multi-page illustrated short story about a girl reaching stardom through her dancing and singing.
    • Her first design looks approximately the same as it does now, but she was a human instead and didn't have any inhuman features or her facial marking.
  • I think her name was inspired by the name Nikita, maybe, if I'm remember the spelling correctly. I think I saw the name in the book Coyote Autumn by Bill Wallace, which I read in elementary school. I think Nikita was a coyote at a wildlife preserve, and I just thought the name was pretty.
  • The song I primarily was listening to while drawing this short story was "Make that Money" by Robi Rob's Clubworld off the Night at the Roxbury soundtrack. I still strongly associate this song with her and the general vibe of the music her music group/entity performs.
  • Nakeeta sends quite a bit of the money she makes back home to Neonikai. Her family and tribe have remarked that conditions in the village have improved quite a bit in the years she's been providing them financial support.
  • For about fifteen years after her creation, Nakeeta was always the youngest sibling of the Kovanas, and Neoka was the middle child. It was only recently changed once I determined it would be a better idea for her to be older to better suit her popstar job and clothing/design development. Neoka isn't supposed to age all that much throughout his arc, so it's a bit limiting to keep Nakeeta younger than him if he's going to be 19 forever pretty much.
  • For the most part, she considers men to be essentially useless except for breeding, which is how her tribe and certain other Nanikan tribes tended to view men.
    • Any sexual relations she has with men tend to be momentary and mean little to her beyond physical pleasure. She thinks only women are capable of genuine romance and has no interest in serious relationships with men.
    • She tolerates the men that work in her musical group, because at least they make themselves useful and don't irritate her.
  • Old Charahub blurb: "A member of the Emtratika bloodline, she travels Daliarivon with her vastly popular musical group as a star among demons."
  • Original file number: 131
    • New file number: 78
  • Nakeeta is skilled at singing but doesn't actually like doing so in performances much. She greatly prefers just dancing and committing herself to challenging choreography. She considers her stamina for dancing to be her best stat.
  • Her favorite colors are red and orange.
  • Her musical group is called "Daughters of Nanikai." It's a primarily female group, but there are a handful of men in it as well.
