Power . Revenge . Yakuza.

MOGAMACHI ODA
PATRIARCH OF THE ODA FAMILY,
A YAMATANDO CLAN SUBSIDARY

Oda is a legendary figure, throughout Japan - who's capable of fending off thousands of men using his own single body. Every clan recognizes his history, his successes, and often looks up at him. Especially many are fearful of him still - old and young alike. Yet Mogamachi serves under the Yamatando-kai, a quickly dwindling clan that's gone progressively weak overtime, and Oda and a few other hardworking families is often the sole figure as to why is remains standing.

Oda is the only one who knows the history of the Yamatando-kai and very much knows the reason as to why the clan is dying. Thus he makes his way to America, in hopes of removing the sole reason:

Akuma.

My title nor rank doesn't matter in the world of Yakuza. I only fight to keep my clan alive and keep our lands at peace. I trust that my peers to do the same.

++++++

Despite his seemingly flippant attitude, Oda is a man who acts with no fear, even if his enemies prove powerful and seemingly dangerous. Not only relying on his strength in fighting, he's a well-informed person, where his decision-making are considerably effective, and his laid-back attitude makes him incredibly witty. His relaxed, half-assed attitude of his is only a facade to his true-self; a protective, vengeful and terrifying man with an increasing sadistic nature that no one has yet to notice. Mogamachi is always a tempered individual for the most part, but very protective of not only his superiors, but the members of the Wakagashira-hosa (若頭補佐) that are directly below him as his assistants. He provides his family with great hospitality and love. Therefore if anyone in his family or his clan was threaten by a bigger enemy, then Oda loses sense of peace and becomes relentless.

If given the opportunity, Mogachan will attempt to flirt with anyone that suits his tastes or piques his interests. It's more likely that he'll charm his way with his witty nature first, but if such attempts fail - most of the time he'd resort to more aggressive moves. He'll pamper those who fall under his charm with the vast amount of money he earns but more importantly is a sucker for cute nicknames.

Trivia

  • Oda is the strongest general of the Yamatando clan, if not the most legendary member of the group.
    > Holds a family of over 200 people.
  • He fights with a Japanese smoking pipe, a metal kiseru or simply uses his fistsOccasionally he'll use a small blade.
    > Before he stored it away from everyone, Oda was known for wielding a katana, known as Kaitenkikou, and often used it to fight against his enemies.
    > Regarding Kaitenkikou, he never used it to kill anyone and rarely did unsheathed it. He used it as a blunt weapon.
  • His house in the United States is a traditional Japanese home. He even has a koi pond. It's not really a headquarters for the group, many stop by because of his hospitality and free food.
  • He acts like a father figure to many of the syndicate. But many find Oda meddling around the cities helping children in need of small help.
  • He denies the fact that he's a sadistic guy, even when he's in the middle of tying up a dude to a pole and then punching the crap out of them for his pleasure.
  • Never take him to a conveyer belt sushi restaurant. He literally will sit there for hours and eat until he gets kicked out.
  • Even if Mogamachi is the patriarch of his clan, he has no children to take his place. He has a younger sister with a son but has no potential of taking his place. Therefore he is the last of the Oda to serve the Yakuza.
  • The Oda clan takes over the Wakagashira position in the Yakuza, the former wakagashira was Grandfather - which was several years ago since he left the syndicate.
  • His tattoo on his back resembles a legendary Kirin.
    > However, it holds a supernatural ability that he hides from everyone. It dimly glows a golden light and he privately communicates with it.

CHILDHOOD

"Remember this, my boy: you and I, and our family were born this way. We are Yakuza."

- Moromachi Oda (Father)

A new Oda child was born, who was raised to become part of the Yamatando-kai. He originally was to become a law advocate working in the Yakuza, but the death of his older brother made him change his course into becoming the next general.

His connection to the Yakuza were supposed to remain a secret until he graduated but after his brother's death (from a failed mission regarding the clan), it didn't take long for his classmates and teachers to discover his background. Many people were scared to even have a single conversation with him, and many teachers afraid of failing Oda. Regardless the situation made Moga uncomfortable but he wanted to become a decent student and maintain good impressions with everyone before he'd disappear.

TEENAGE LIFE

"We know who you are, kid! If I beat you, then I can just beat off any Yakuza right?"

- Some stupid Yankee

He finished middleschool and entered school with ease, but it didn't stop anyone from acknowledging Oda once again. And his experiences in school would progressively became worse - especially with the students. Upper-grade students often had problems with Oda's existences and especially the stronger appearing ones would only pick fights with him. Thankfully, his father's plan of making him the next wakagashira instantly turned the tables on them and he'd immediately fight them off with ease.

But with the constant fighting only hindered his capability of attending classes and he was prone into getting into trouble and likely the police would be involved if anything happened... that involved him. In the end, he was able to graduate and he barely finished his college years before leaving education entirely to take over his father and late-brother's position.

ADULTHOOD

"There was someone, like you, who fought the world to keep the Yamatando clan alive. But it's funny... because he is now the very man who is fighting to do the complete opposite. As long as he is alive - we will constantly falter until we fall."

- Current Chairman of the Yamatando-kai

Oda watched his clan dwindle down to small numbers, since he was a small child. And he knew how important the Yamatando was to his family and he was raised to think the same way. And everyone around him and his clan only were on the constant prowl and took opportunities to try and wipe the Yamatando out from existence.

Mogamachi had no plans to letting the clan fall. Oda often went through great lengths when it came to fighting and the amount of bodies he's beaten were unrivaled. Everyone potentially recognized Mogamachi's abilities and it was only attracting more and more attention for him and the Yamatando - both good and bad.
Because of his successes brought in several small, yet passionate people, who wanted to follow Oda's footsteps. Hence joining the Yamatando-kai, despite it's once-dwindling numbers, there were people joining it, because they wished to be in the presence of the legendary Oda.
The current chairman of the Yamatando-kai surely recognizes Oda's constant successes and wins in the name of the clan. Eventually the chairman shares the secret and the reason why the clan almost fell - which remained a secret for all of the chairmen: a once legendary general that went by Akuma - a living demon who left the Yamatando-kai, hides himself from the world, and secretly takes any opportunity to pick away everything the clan has. The chairman himself is at awe as to why Akuma hasn't finished the clan off.

Oda, who now knows of the reason why, spends years trying to learn and pinpoint Akuma. However, the countless years of trying to figure out his whereabouts only sacrificed the several members of his own family. And every death affected Oda greatly, hoping that he'll come close enough to be able to kill Akuma.

TLDR

  • Mogamachi was pretty much born into the Yakuza. Was supposed to be in law that works for the clan, but plans changed after his older brother's death. He begins working to become one of the clan's generals.
  • Mogamachi's connection with the Yakuza made it rather hard to get through school. When he barely finished college, he stopped it completely to be with the clan.
  • Fought and defended the Yamatando for years and became the most important figure in the clan. It was solely because of him that people began to join his family. If they couldn't join the Oda family, then they still joined the clan nonetheless.
  • The chairman gives him the reason why the clan remains weak. Hence Oda spends the rest of his life trying to find Akuma, the legendary demon who is constantly trying to remove the clan.
