Scout is a time traveler. It's funny how time travel works - he thinks he's been jumping through time ten years, but he has no way to tell. It could easily be twenty. Or maybe only five. The point is, time travel is unpredictable and it's dangerous, but he loves it more than anything in the world. The thrill of adventure is far too exciting - he doesn't think he'll ever stop. 

Despite the risks he goes for nearly every day, he's terrified of one simple thing - water. The feel of it sticking his fur to his sides when he swims or when it rains is horrible to him, and so he rarely takes a bath. This is rather ironic, seeing as his best friend is Weeja, the wolf who loves the rain. He met her during one of his adventures.

Scout had heard about the river drying up, and as much as he didn't like water he knew it was essential that the river survive - he'd been to visit it a hundred years in the future and it had still been there. So he'd started to follow the river to its source in hopes of finding what had blocked it up, and, as it turned out, Weeja had been doing the same thing. Together they came to the source of the river to find that some well meaning humans were really messing things up. Scout caused a distraction so Weeja could save the day, but by doing so he got himself captured, and by the time he escaped Weeja was long gone.

He was a bit annoyed with himself, as he'd grown to be really good friends with the rain-dog. So he decided to set off and find his friend, no matter how long it took him.
