Kaimana

ah, old cap’n kaimana. what an ironic second identity to have.

kaimana is world’s current largest kraken, and she intends to keep it that way. kaimana at this point is perhaps a thousand years old, and she has spent much of it either fighting, or sleeping. she refuses to allow anything larger than her swim through the oceans. like it’s hard, with her being miles upon miles in length. it turns out however, that a creature her size needs an outrageous amount of food to sustain, one the ocean can hardly provide. so, kaimana spends most her time asleep, her territory guarded by thousands of potentially dangerous merfolk when she slumbers. 

after centuries, kaimana has somewhat gotten over her resentment of aquatic vessels. she’s gotten a bit of an affinity, in fact. she knows the ocean like no other, it is her home, after all. becoming a ship’s captain was like a cakewalk for a woman like her.
even as a human, there is something grandiose about her presence. beyond her calm and collected speech, there lies something overpowering. still, kaimana would like her human life to be as unassuming as possible. despite what one might think, she actually doesn’t have any schemes going on. no, her kraken identity is the one she spends conquering vast territories. her condescendingly kind facsimile is traded in for a more genuine way of going through life when walking on land. perhaps she’s glad to have some peers, for once?
