Isamu Shirai

an acquaintance of nobuyuki's, from two centuries ago now. isamu was once a regular cat, adopted by an old woman in rural kyoto. when the old woman came to pass, and isamu had reached the almost unnatural age of 25, she came to notice that she simply would not die. the old woman had few relatives, and even fewer that visited her regularly. isamu made a promise to herself then to watch over the old woman until somebody would find her body, but the day only came months after. enraged by the neglect the kind old woman faced, even in her death, isamu then became a spirit.

soon after the fact, isamu gained the ability to change into a semi-humanoid form. rumors of a shapeshifting cat walking the streets at night spread through town like a wildfire, and soon enough, kazue's informants were looking to secure her. it was still in the late stretches of the war at the time, peaceful yet tense, and kazue was looking for some more... indestructible diplomats. presenting as a man at the time, yet being quite effeminate, isamu became known as an unwanted consort in most noblehouses- not that of the lords, no, that of the lords' wives. scandal after scandal, isamu singlehandedly brought branches of the feudal system to their knees, only to completely disappear off the face of the earth the second kazue's forces did.

now, centuries later, isamu has assumed a new identity, that of a female fashion designer. not long as mischievous as she's used to, but the world of alternative fashion brings a new type of zest that she had yet to discover. despite her fun-loving, ditzy and easygoing personality, behind that bright and colorful shell lies something deep and dignified. when dropping her cutesy body language for even a minute, she betrays herself as highly calculated, disciplined, and elegant. she will playfully brush it off the second you notice, though! heehee :3
